Pine forest Argelès-sur-Mer has over 8,000 hundred-yearold pines including 2,000 in the pine forest, a haven of coolness and greenery at the seaside.
Nature reserve of La Massane Located only 5km from the Mediterranean and some 30km from the Pyrenees, the reserve stretches for 300ha, at an altitude of between 600 and 1000m.Very famed among hikers, La Massane forest, that the GR 10 traverses, was listed as a nature reserve in 1973. 34
145-ha listed preserved nature reserve. The visit will allow you to discover a variety of landscapes which have been produced by the juxtaposition of different environments: reed beds, meadows, dunes and Le Tech mouth. You will view numerous birds including grey herons, European bee-eaters and gulls. Information signposts and a picnic area are at your disposal.
