Argoclima S.p.A. specialises in the supply of products and services for the air conditioning, heating and air treatment market. Our range of products are almost all designed and manufactured in the Argoclima factories (in Italy and France), they provide state-of-the-art solutions that stand out for their advanced technology, design and modular nature. These features allow all manner of problems to be quickly resolved and offer excellent solutions with top energy efficiency performance. In addition to the products normally on offer through retail channels (portable and wall-mounted air conditioning systems, dehumidifiers and supplementary heating), our company also offers a range of ARGO brand products. These include direct expansion air-conditioning systems ranging from 2.2 to 150 kW with COP levels of above 5. Segmentation by heat output allows for the quick and easy identification, differentiation and positioning of the range of products, which focus on applications ranging from private homes to office buildings and from small and medium-sized retail outlets to shopping centres... The direct expansion systems all make use of Full DC Inverter technology to create systems with many dozens of indoor units, with over 300 metres of piping and height differences between units of over 50 metres.
Argoclima S.p.A. is specifically organised to best support the needs of various types of customers: the needs of Retail customers, for example, are sometimes similar and sometimes very different to those of Installation Technicians, Wholesalers and B2B operators. Private consumers can also find answers to their questions both via conventional means and services as well as via new computer technologies: our website, www.argoclima.com, provides a large amount of information at different levels of expertise and access in order to satisfy any type of request. An extensive network of After-Sales Service Centres and the European Spare-Parts Centre guarantee a high level of After-Sales Service. The After-Sales Service Centres are linked-up via Internet to specific web applications used to manage the various phases of scheduled or corrective maintenance operations. In order to meet the particular needs of installers who specialise in the sale of centralised systems, Argoclima S.p.A. offers a full-range of services through a wellstructured organisation which reports to the Systems Division:
Condensing units and terminal units, designed using the most advanced design and manufacturing techniques, they work brilliantly within a wide range of outdoor temperatures from -20°C to +43°C. Their mechanical properties facilitate handling and installation, thus reducing the cost of building systems. They can also be controlled using the most advanced building control systems (CIB/BMS), via local, centralised and/or remote controllers with web and fieldbus interfaces (lonworks...).

I SERIES
A complete system, not just a simple split unit‌
iSERIESTM, a multi-functional integrated system iSERIESTM is the commercial name for the HVAC system (heating, ventilation and air conditioner) manufactured by Argoclima S.p.A.; it comprises of a series of components that allow the creation of mono and multi-split systems, in air/air, air/water and mixed air/air plus air/water configurations, with or without the generation of domestic hot water and combination with thermal and photovoltaic solar systems.

Outdoor units is a split system with a feature that has never been seen before: the same outdoor units are both mono and multi, they do not change based on the application and are compatible with all the indoor units in the iSERIESTM range. From 2012 six outdoor units will be available to satisfy the needs of the most demanding customers, covering a modulated heat output range from 0.6 kW to over 13 kW; the range will be further extended up to over 22 kW.

Indoor units The indoor units in the iSERIESTM range are divided into categories by heat output and by application. There are four heat output categories: - size A for heat output up to 4 kW - size B for heat output up to 7 kW - size C for heat output up to 11 kW - size D for heat output up to 14 kW Thanks to the iSERIESTM sophisticated inverter regulation system, the classic references of rated power outputs are replaced by a greater flexibility and the number of product codes and references is reduced by 70%. Applications Great flexibility in the combination of different types and categories of indoor units allows many different applications to be realised that before required the use of different systems that were difficult to integrate with one another. Below is a summary of possible applications that should give installation technicians an idea of the wide range of possibilities offered by the iSERIESTM system: Air/air mono-split, from a typical high quality residential split unit system to solutions for small service sector applications, offices, restaurants, bars... also multi-zone systems with ductable units... or for special applications such as containers, motor homes... Air/water mono-split, this solution is commonly used for heating and cooling with floor mounted systems, but can also be used with low temperature radiators or fan coils, even in combined and multi-zone combinations. Air/air multi-split, a classic solution for the summer air conditioning of apartments and villas but also for heating and cooling offices, shops and small service sector applications in general. Air/water multi-split mixed with air/air, an unusual solution that offers a extremely wide spectrum of applications. With this system we can create a floor mounted system with two zones and at the same time air condition a cellar and loft conversion with an air/air unit suited to these spaces: wall mounted, floor mounted with two-way flow or maybe even ductable. is a primary and integrated system for heating, air conditioning, air treatment and domestic hot water production, entirely based on a sophisticated technique employing high efficiency inverter heat pumps, a renewable energy source that can be combined with thermal and photovoltaic solar power. The flexibility of the iSERIESTM system satisfies the requirements of the residential market and small service sector applications: from the most simple high quality split unit systems to multi-zone systems with floormounted systems, to multi-split systems for apartments, offices and public spaces...

Outdoor units Technical specifications for outdoor units Refrigerant flow/volume regulation via centralised PID control system acting on a vectorial inverter and electronic expansion valves.
SVPWM180°, vectorial inverter with sensor less 180° PWM; this is a purely sinusoidal inverter with extremely low electromagnetic noise emissions. It provides constant control of the permanent magnet synchronous motors throughout their 360° revolution (180°+180°). This optimises torque, a key factor in motor control for compressors in particular, thus providing excellent performance in terms of output, efficiency and quietness, especially at low rotational speeds. Multi-processor platform based on the client/server model, with an operating system controlling the motors and microprocessors dedicated to application management fitted in the outdoor and indoor units.
Standard RS485 bus communication via screened bi-polar cable: the highest level of communication security is ensured thanks to a balanced interface normally used for industrial applications. The bus provides an address for each unit and can be wired either as a bus or in a star configuration starting from the outdoor unit. This allows the system to be expanded and developed whilst still ensuring compatibility between units. One advantage of the RS485 bus is the possibility of supplying the units in the system with power either in a centralised manner or each to unit independently. The range of outdoor operating temperatures is very wide; regulations require full operation from -15°C to +43°C but the iSERIESTM exceeds this: we have heat pump installations working at up to -30°C in Nordic areas and cooling installations in desert regions operating in outside temperatures of over 50°C. The iSERIESTM control system is able to protect itself and implements operational shut down only when the temperature reaches -50°C, practically absurd conditions for a heat pump.

AEI1G30, the smallest outdoor unit in the iSERIES
TM
range, designed for mono-split applications but not only for hiwall and not only for air/air applications (EMIXTM). AEI1G30 is very compact, its heat output is nearly 4 kW and it is built to withstand the worst atmospheric conditions without corrosion. It has a plastic front grille resistant to UV rays covering the entire surface and a silver logo with the brand and a Made in Italy logo. The elegant pipe cover completes the unit, which is one of the most compact and quiet available on the market.

AEI1G65, despite its heat rating of over 8.5 kW, this unit is compact, strong and quiet. Like the other units in the iSERIESTM range, this unit is designed to withstand the worst conditions. It can be used for mono, dual and triple solutions with a wide range of air and/or water indoor units.

, mono, dual, triple and quadruple configurations in a single outdoor unit compatible with all the multifunction indoor units in the iSERIESTM range, and with a heat output of up to 11 kW. Corrosion resistant metals impervious to saline mist, UV ray resistant plastic and concealed pipe attachments complete this excellent and quiet unit.
AEI1G110*, over 13 kW in a compact chassis with a single fan, for mono, dual, triple and quadruple applications with high heat outputs, this unit is suitable for fully integrated primary solutions for heating and cooling offices and family homes. Maximum pipe lengths and maximum distances between outdoor unit and indoor units

The AEI1G50 outdoor unit, equipped with a standard charge of refrigerant (preloaded in the factory), allows for a maximum pipe length of 7.5 metres in mono configuration and up to 15 metres in dual configuration. By adding refrigerant (20 grams per metre in mono configuration and 15 grams per metre in dual configuration), the maximum length is extended to 20 metres in mono configuration and 30 metres in dual configuration. In the event of dual configurations it should be remembered that each of the two indoor units can be positioned at a different distance from the outdoor unit. If the maximum distance of the first indoor unit from the outdoor unit is 12 metres, the second indoor unit must be placed at a maximum distance of 3 metres from the outdoor unit. This is because the maximum pipe length (15 metres), must never be exceeded. Of course in the event of additional refrigerant, the maximum distance of the first indoor unit can be up to 25 metres, and the second, 5 metres. Similar concepts can also be applied to outdoor units AEI1G65 and AEI1G80, and the same shall apply for future outdoor units in the iSeries range. The table below combined with the diagram allows you to easily identify the maximum values for the pipe lengths / maximum distances between outdoor and indoor units. Standard charge

The maximum height difference between the outdoor unit and indoor unit/s does not depend on the distances and/or the pipe lengths described above. It depends instead on the total height difference between the various units (both outdoor and indoor) that make up the split or multi-split system. In multi-split configurations there is also a relationship between the maximum height difference between the outdoor unit and indoor units (sum of height differences). For example, if the total maximum height difference between the outdoor unit and indoor units as declared by the manufacturer is 10 metres and the maximum height difference between the two indoor units is 5 metres, in a dual configuration with the outdoor unit on the ground floor, the first indoor unit can be installed at up to 7 metres above (or below), but the second unit may only be fitted a maximum of 3 metres above (or below). This is so as not to exceed 10 metres (7+3 = 10) and at the same time to not exceed the 5 metres of maximum height difference between the two indoor units (7-3 = 4). On the other hand, it is not possible to position the first indoor unit at 8 metres and the other at 1 metre from the outdoor unit. This is because even though the sum of height differences is less than the maximum height difference of 10 metres (8+1 = 9), the height difference between the two indoor units would however reach 7 metres, exceeding the maximum permitted height difference. Where the same dual configuration outdoor unit is positioned at a height in between the two indoor units, the first indoor unit can also be installed one metre below the outdoor unit. In this case the second indoor unit can be installed at a maximum of 4 metres above the outdoor unit because the maximum height difference of 5 metres between indoor units cannot be exceeded. With this type of installation the two indoor units are in fact usually placed at a height difference of 2.5 metres with respect to the outdoor unit.

Dynamic Cold Draft, an active protection system preventing the emission of air that is noticeably colder than ambient temperature during heating operation and particularly during defrost stages. Antifreeze, this protection system prevents the formation of ice on the indoor unit heat exchanger when the system is working in cooling mode and there are particular temperature and humidity conditions. Temperature settings from +10°C to +32°C both in cooling and heating modes; the units can therefore be used for indoor low ambient temperature applications such as in cellars, server rooms and radio stations... They can also be used to maintain a minimum temperature in spaces that are unused during weekends such as offices and shops, or places that are unused during the week such as holiday homes in the mountains or at the seaside...
iFEEL function, a comparative function that ensures optimum temperature settings based on the values read at the remote control sensor, the sensor in the indoor unit and the resulting ambient temperature stratification conditions, which are always different from one room to another.
Wide range IR receiver, this receives the remote control signal even under difficult conditions. It is equipped with a noise canceller for complete immunity from interference generated by low energy consumption fluorescent bulbs. A8 is available in size A, and at 21 dB(A) is extremely quiet. The unit is equipped with an active photocatalytic filter, which is able to significantly reduce the bacterial load in the environment thanks to the titanium dioxide oxidation process activated by completely concealed special UV LEDs that are fully compliant with EU standards.
A8 is designed to provide high energy efficiency and has one very important feature: it can be recess fitted using the dedicated wall mounting kit.
The front panel made from PMMA, a prized acrylic material, is dual coated on the back and available in satin white or carbon fibre black; the transparent border along the panel perimeter creates a bright frame that responds to colour changes in the environment. The horizontal central strip in silver conceals the noiseless remote control signal receiver and the extremely elegant blue and white micro LEDs. These are very discreet and can also be deactivated using a function developed specifically for those that prefer complete darkness at night.
A8 is also easy to install, thanks to the possibility of being able to connect the refrigerant pipes either to the horizontal compartment or to the right side; the bilateral condensation discharge pipe and the possibility of fitting the unit at below two metres in height (thanks to the protection grille), complete the flexibility of this high quality indoor unit.

Mesh ďŹ lters with optional odour-capturing activated charcoal ďŹ lter
The optional activated charcoal filter is comprised of a layer of synthetic material folded to increase the filtering surface area and treated with a professional anti-bacterial solution, combined with an activated charcoal mesh. Activated charcoal is a material mainly made up of carbon in the form of graphite micro crystals treated in such a way as to create a porous structure with a vast internal surface area. When the forced air flow passes through the filter element, the charge of static energy allows the filter to trap even the smallest particles of pollutants and allergens, down to a size of 0.01 microns. The activated charcoal layer attracts and absorbs the organic molecules responsible for unpleasant odours, eliminating them completely.

I SERIES Hydrokit HKE, available in sizes B and C, is the indoor unit to be combined with the iSERIESTM outdoor units to create heating and air conditioning solutions with oor, wall or ceiling mounted radiator systems.
The iSERIESTM system is able to control air-condensed indoor units simultaneously with Hydrokit to create a mixed air/water and air/air system. The wide range of possibilities for use both as a mixed system and as a conventional split inverter air/water heat pump system, should be very interesting to installation technicians who will discover the unique versatility of the iSERIESTM system.
Hydrokit, installed indoor the building as if it were a wall-mounted boiler, is equipped with high quality plate heat exchangers made from AISI316L stainless steel, a high efficiency water pump and a module for additional electrical heating with three power steps (2+2+2 kW). The system is fully controlled by the unit’s software according to heat requirements but can also be manually deactivated using the dedicated thermal-magnetic switches. A pressure gauge displays the water pressure in the circuit and there are also safety pressure switches and a device that controls the water flow rate.

Hydrokit is provided with an area controller, a sensor to be fitted on the building exterior and a water filter. The controller manages both the climatic curve and the entire hydronic system; it can be connected to other similar controllers to manage separate areas with the aid of the multi-zone module. Other accessories for the hydronic system are available on request to satisfy special requirements.
EMIXTM is the innovative indoor unit in the iSERIESTM range, able to provide domestic hot water from a thermo-dynamic source all year round, i.e. independently of the system’s operating mode. EMIXTM works simultaneously with the other units in the system, both in air/air and air/water configurations or in mixed air/air and air/water combinations, an absolute first.
EMIXTM will become available in 2012 and will have its own illustrated operating manual demonstrating the possible combinations with other indoor units and connection configurations with outdoor units in the iSERIESTM range.

XF FE ETTO
AIR / AIR Only 2 holes in the wall are needed‌ to connect the air-condensed Xfetto model with the outside, as long as the holes are in a perimeter wall. Xfetto air/ air houses an outdoor unit within its single case and in order to operate correctly requires a constant exchange of air with the outside because it uses air to cool the condenser. This air exchange takes place via two 16 cm holes (1 intake hole and 1 outflow hole), to be made in the installation wall, which therefore must be a perimeter wall. Thanks to the special grilles the unit can be installed very easily even from indoor the room, through walls or structures up to 2 metres thick or directly onto large windows with no loss of performance... Xfetto is also designed to allow recessed wall installation and in this instance its visible depth is reduced to only 10 centimetres. When Xfetto operates in cooling mode or dehumidification only, the condensation is released by internal evaporation in the condenser: therefore there is no need to provide a condensation discharge pipe for the cooling-only models. Condensation discharge is however required for models with a heat pump, even though its use is limited to heat pump operation. The condensation can be drawn either indoor or outside the room using the dedicated duct indoor the device’s chassis.

Can also be installed on non-perimeter walls Xfetto water-condensed still eliminates the problem of the outdoor unit by housing it within its single case, but it uses water instead of air to cool the condenser. This solution has the advantage of not requiring holes in the wall and thus allows the device to be installed on any type of wall, perimeter or not. The advantages of this application include: great energy efficiency (COP up to 4.68), low power consumption (630 watts to achieve a heat output of over 3 kW) and extremely quiet operation thanks to the fact that the condenser, being water-cooled, has no ventilation system. The water-condensed version of Xfetto consumes just one cubic metre of water per day (less than one euro’s worth). Unique and special, it provides solutions for niche applications that arise much more often than you may think... From residences in historic buildings with large supplies of water, to systems with cooling towers, heat pumps and/or boilers on closed-circuit loops even when controlled by BMS, such as Lyon Airport.

Closed circuit water use
The ideal application for areas with strict regulations governing modifications to building facades and without limitations on water use. The system nevertheless has a low level of water consumption that may reach up to one cubic metre of water per day under normal summer operating conditions, with a daily cost of less than one euro. It only requires connection to two water pipes, inflow and outflow.
Xfetto can also operate as a terminal in a closed circuit water loop system with water at 30°C in accordance with EN14511 specifications. The water used to cool the condenser is fed into a circuit and drawn to a cooling tower where it is cooled and then reused by the device.

goodbye outdoor unit... With the hydraulic module, as a radiator substitute XF FE ETTO
A real advantage for on/off versions, both air or water-condensed, is the ability to connect Xfetto to a central heating system and use it as a radiator connected to the heating system circuit using the dedicated hydraulic module (optional), which also includes a three-way bypass valve. To use the radiator function Xfetto must be connected to the central heating system, whether it is centralised or autonomous. Suitable checks should first be carried out on the system to determine the water flow rate conditions in terms of volume and heat output. The connection can be made using the dedicated optional kit, which in concept represents a kind of interface module between xfetto and the central heating system. Without this kit, xfetto can still be installed with the maximum flexibility as an air conditioner/heat pump without an outdoor unit (for example in places where no central heating system is installed due to climatic conditions). The connection kit to the central heating system is symmetrical and can be fitted on the left or right of the device. It is designed to adapt to various different existing situations (pipes on the right, pipes on the left, delivery on the right and return on the left, delivery above and return below...). This means that the same kit can be used for both sides. The size and shape of the kit elegantly covers most types of hydraulic connection. The kit is comprised of a plastic casing and all the components (electronic and hydraulic) required for radiator operation. The installer need only make the hydraulic connections to the central heating system delivery and return pipes.

Multiset Vrf Systems Advantages FOR THOSE WHO DESIGN AND WHO PROPOSE CONSIDERABLE FLEXIBILITY OF THE TRACK: The high length of refrigerant pipes between indoor and outdoor units makes easier the installation adjustment to the configuration of the building; also the large distances between indoor and outdoor units allow to easily choose the best location for the condensing units. VERSATILE CONTROL SYSTEM: The control system allows numerous combinations of individual control, group control and system control. EASY MODIFICATIONS AND IMPLEMENTATIONS: If it was intended in the design phase, you can expand the system with the addition of indoor and outdoor units in a simple and practical way. FLEXIBILE MANAGEMENT: The system can have a power ratio between indoor and outdoor units from 50% to 130%.

Main features:

t Automatic change-over between cooling and heating modes for each indoor unit; this feature, based on the three-way technology with heat recovery, allows a fully independent operation of each indoor unit. t R410A HFC refrigerant. t Twin Rotary DC Inverter compressor, highly efficient at low rotation frequencies, matching with a Scroll Constant-Speed compressor . t Fan with direct current motor that allows a consumption reduction of about 50% and a speed modulation up to 16 steps in spite of the usual 4 steps of the alternate current motors; this performance increases the efficiency of the thermodynamic system which is able to best adapt to the variations of temperature and thermal load of the rooms . t The use of a special oil sensor allows, for the first time in the world,to keep under control the lubrification of the mechanical parts of the compressor. t Special air intakes and Double Chamber construction technology allowed to unify the dimensions of the units, making easy the closing up for multiple installations in which two units can be placed at a distance of only 10 cm one from the other, the smaller distance available. t Low sound level thanks to a special fan made of resin and a particular resin grille, designed and used for these units in order to minimize air pressure drops. t New high efficiency Cross-Arranged heat exchanger with three-way suction, divided in two sections with double control of defrosting cycle. t Pressure control automatic and by software on PC. t Pipe connection indoor the unit frame through a special space to be closed back when the installation is finished. t Equipped with Fault-Tolerant system granting in multiple installations the operation of the air conditioning system also in case of total stop of one condensing unit. t Support to Long-Life system that, in multiple installations, allows a cyclic use of the condensing units, granting a balance of the compressors activity. t “On Demand” feature allows to best use the characteristics of DC Inverter technology, setting three different levels of electric power on which are automatically based the control microprocessors so that to achieve the maximum performances with reduction of electric consumption. t Extra range of outdoor air temperature: from -10°C to +43°C in cooling mode and from -20°C to +15°C in heating mode. t Maximum length of the refrigerant circuit extended to 300 m. t The refrigerant circuit doesn’t require distribution apparatus downstream of the unit as it can be realized with a tree structure using only the special distributor accessories; this feature facilitates any type of system widening, by adding both outdoor and indoor units. t Three-phase auto sense power supply 380-415/3N/50Hz.

t REC heat recovery units, characterized by small size and easy to install, are suitable for residential and commercial applications t Regulations require forced ventilation in realizing air conditioning and air treatment systems, with expulsion of air treated and consequent increase in energy consumption and costs. t In all these cases REC heat recovery units allow over 50% of energy saving and ensure an adequate environmental comfort through the use of a static heat exchanger made of aluminium. t REC heat recovery units are available in 8 sizes with airďŹ&#x201A;ows from 300 to 4000 m3 /h and high static pressure. t They work both in the summer and in winter. t Particularly suitable for false ceiling installation, they may be appropriately ducted allowing air supply and air suction directly in the room. t High efďŹ ciency aluminium plated heat recovery, with airďŹ&#x201A;ows separated by special seals. t The side panels are fully removable, made of double-layer plate with thermal and sound insulation in polyethylene / polyester with an average thickness of 10 mm for models REC 03-06-10 and 20mm for the other models. t In the lower part of the recovery unit is installed a condensate tank in stainless steel, with drain downward. t The fan group consists of 2 centrifugal fans with double inlet (for the REC 03 model single inlet) separated, one for the recovery fresh air, the other for the exhaust air. t Single-phase electric motors (3-phase only for REC 40), 2 or 3 speeds. t The fans are mounted on anti-vibration easy removable support, which ensures a very low noise even at maximum speed. t They are also equipped with air ďŹ lters with performance class G3, easily removable from each side of the unit and regenerate. t REC heat recovery units are available also in vertical version.

Regulations on energy efďŹ ciency labelling Argo air conditioners are compliant with the most recent European Standards for the reduction of energy consumption and atmospheric pollution. The labels that indicate the energy efficiency class were introduced with European Community directive 2002/31/EC, which makes reference to standard EN14511, which in turn provides precise reference tables for the energy efficiency class classification. Energy efficiency labels are applied to products (air conditioners with a cooling power of up to 12 kW) on display at retail outlets. They are provided to inform customers of the efficiency of the product they intend to purchase. The label is divided into two parts, a generic coloured label and an adhesive black and white label that must be applied over the coloured one. Our company provides both the labels mentioned above. The generic label is supplied directly at retail outlets, whilst the specific one is placed inside the packaging of each air conditioner sold. In the event that the specific label has been lost, each retail outlet should be able to provide another immediately by downloading it from the Internet or requesting it from our marketing dept. The energy efficiency label indicates the energy class; class A is the highest and is awarded based on tables that compare thermal efficiency and energy consumption. The indicators of the above ratio are known as: E.E.R. = Energy Efficiency Ratio: this is the ratio between cooling power (in kw) and power consumption in cooling mode (in kw). C.O.P. = coefficient of performance: this is the ratio between heating power (in kw) and power consumption in heating mode (in kw).
