Spitalfields Music Festival entrance/ticket booth
The aim for this studio was to design a ticket booth system for a music festival happening at St Leonard’s Church, Shoreditch, London.
On site, I noticed a few wooden square beams, placed there to retain the soil, that I used as a repetitive element, giving rythm to the pathway it created. The idea was to take the experience outside the church as well as inside, in order for the public to feel involved from the minute they entered the grounds of the church. Lit from underneath, the pathway created a moving shadow, engaging the public into the design, allowing them to really take part in the event. With the possibility of keeping the pathway permanent, I explored the idea of versatility in the pathway, making some parts of it movable or dismountable in order for it to adapt to the different possibilities of use.
