These three projects developed during the university career, represent phases and environments of study that have strongly influenced my study. Copenhagen, a destination of a study trip during which I was able to learn concretely the languages of architecture and contemporary urban planning. Milan, the elegant and ever-changing city that welcomed me during my period of studies, immersing myself in the world of Italian architecture and its masters. Capri, an island that has seen my graduation thesis grow, leaving me the opportunity to put myself to the test, elaborating contemporary languages in a context of incredible and ancient wonder.

Arts&Crafts_Copenaghen

Politecnico di Milano academic year 2013-2014 Professors: Emilio Faroldi, Luigi Cocchiarella, Gaetano Maria Fara Project location: Copenaghen Theme: Public space as experience Grafting, grafts to recover the former industrial site and warehouse of Paper Island in the artitficial canal of Copenhagen. An area characterized by a wotrfront frame outlined by double pitch of a shed that inspires in its appeal and in its architectural simplicity, the idea of a project that must not remove or destroy, but to engage the support structure, recovering and recreating one multifunctional space suitable to the Arts&Crafts center. The pillars dictate the rules drawing an orthogonal gird, underlined in the paths leading from the pattern of the famous danish designer Verner Panton. The additions are inserted as “rainingin the gird with a lightweight material typical of industrial structures. In the project are provided these features: a market with laboraties and coworking, a residencial complex with studios on the ground floor, a museum with exibithion space, refreshments and stores, and a square defined by a gird structure with metallic catwalks stands in direct contact with museum.

sottocosmo urbano_Milan

Politecnico di Milano academic year 2015-2016 Professors: Luca Basso Peressut, Piarluigi Salvadeo Project location: Milan Theme: Museum, intirior and building enviroment: spaces for the culture communication. The project for the Urban Center of Milan is an “urban underworld” in which we can learn about the main policies and projects that are changing the city and the metropolitan area in which citizens, public institutions, associations and representatives of the economic and social world, can meet and discuss territorial and urban transformations. In the exhibition halls and in the events space, you can visit exhibitions, attend meetings, lectures, workshops, read and inform yourself about the future of the city. “SottoCosmo Urbano” is also other: competitions, publishing products, paths for comparison, communication activities, collaborations and new practicable spaces are developed offering different views of the square, rest areas and an information point. In the underground part we find the heart of the urban center with its activities: - refreshment area - conference room - exhibition area - events area - bookshop

master thesis_villa damecuta_capri

Politecnico di Milano academic year 2015-2016 Supervisor: Emilio Faroldi Project location: Capri Theme: Grafts and permanences between memory and archeology. Villa Damecuta is an archaeological complex of spectacular beauty located on the island of Capri, where its strategic position at the foot of Anacapri and above the Grotta dell’Arcera and the Grotta Blu, allows to admire a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Naples. Villa Damecuta, one of the twelve Roman villas, now is abandoned to the negligence of a luxuriant nature that denies the reading of the plant and the remaining substructures. The intervention aims at a redevelopment of the area, intended as the addition of functions capable of serving the requests of a potential heterogeneous public. Starting from the principle of not affecting the preexistence and not restoring it in its original state, it operates through superpositions of different layers. The complex, facing the Tyrrhenian Sea, is built around the original walls still recognizable, establishing a relationship between the new building and the remains of walls, history and landscape. The project does not want to be an easy and less binding total renovation of the site, through the demolition of the old plant, but not even include the historic walls giving the ruins a marginal and purely decorative role within the architectural complex. The choice is to create a limit, a boundary between the two structures, integrating without ever overlapping. The space is designed in such a way as to be functional to recover an ancient relationship with the outside, through countless possible glimpses of history and the sea.

03 architecture competition

Accademia Adrainea di Architettura e Archeologia PIRANESI PRIX DE ROME 2016 XIV EDIZIONE Villa Adriana, 24 Agosto_6 Settembre President of Adrianea Academy of Architecture and Archeology :Romolo Martemucci Director of Adrianea Academy of Architecture and Archeology: Pier Federico Caliari Director of Premio Piranesi: Luca Basso Peressut

The Piranesi Prix de Rome, a university competition (launched in 2003), is open to students from the architecture schools around the world joining Villa Adriana to wait for a two-week workshop. The Adrianea Academy of Architecture and Archeology invites this design experimentation focusing on the relationship between two of the main elements that make up the image of Villa Adriana: Architecture and Water, seen in the close relationship of complementarity. The competition provided an opportunity to reconsider the entrance to the site reactivating the nineteenth-century path. The monumental fountain enaches the forms of an architecture that now is disappeard, the Greek Theatre. The project of the thermal site is to reactivate an abandoned area, the Tempe’s terrace, fitting with architectural elements wich communicate with the surrinding landscape.

04 workshop expEriences

The experiences of the workshops were a great work opportunity during the period of study in Milan and in Portugal, allowing me to get to know the study and the design research of some architecture firms and designers and to be able to concretely transform the thoughts on paper into physical experiences.

garden spighe bianche_Matera

Location: Matera Studio: Atelier delle Verdure, Milan Atelier delle Verdure has been selected by the Matera-Basilicata Foundation 2019 as part of the Gardentopia cluster in Basilicata Fiorita. The aim of the Foundation’s application dossier is to make Matera, the next European Capital of Culture, more beautiful and livable through the recovery of 4 abandoned green areas and helping citizens to become active protagonists of this process, increasing their awareness of the need for greater civic sense. The area to be recovered, chosen by the citizens and winner of a selection,is the garden of the“G.Pascoli”middle school. In the first part took shape the idea proposed by the community, first of all school, and by the inhabitants of the Spine Bianche district, a neighborhood built in the 50s following the displacement from the Sassi. Following the definitive and executive design, in the second part we moved to the operational phase with the realization of the community school “Spighe Bianche”, thanks to the involvement of the inhabitants, the guests of the “Rocco Mazzarone” center and the Polytechnic University students of Milan and the University of Basilicata, involved through an International Workshop. In these spaces of creativity, the 4 groups of selected local and European artists / architects have produced wide-ranging cultural projects, with a view to regenerating places whose actors will be curators, maintainers as well as users of the area. The garden is divided into four areas: the terrace area, the educational area, the garden area and the picnic area.

Levame_object after object_Oporto

Location: ESAD, Porto The project Objects After Objects proposes a reflection on contemporary project-related practice, its teaching, production, its creative, economic and political dimension and was directed by Maria Milano and Fernando Brízio. I try to reinvented the idea of wall as a site where find and put other object as well as the human body dimension. To do that I simulate an instructions manual to built LEVAME with simple materials by yourself. Uma nova maneira de interpretar a parede. Um dispositivo elástico para acomodar o gesto. O dinamismo também está na sua construção. Siga as instruções e deixe-se apanhar pelo design. A new way to interpret the wall. An elastic device to accommodate the gesture. The dynamism is also in its construction. Follow the instructions and get inspired by the design.

XXI TRIENNALE MILANO. EXTEMPORARY CAPSULE

Location: ESA,Porto and Leonardo da Vinci National Science and Technology Museum, Milan The Extemporary Capsule emerges as a micro-architecture initiative under a self-construction scheme. The workshop was curated by architects Paolo Mestriner, Jo.o Cruz, and maria Milano with the collaboration of the student of Politecnico di Milano and other from ESAD in Porto. The aim of the project is study at relationships involving interaction of the body with the space-object, that will define moments developed by three different groups, each one referred to body-space-body actions, respectively: Entering , Passing Through, and Being. The process becomes complete with the act of self-construction in the form of a microarchitecture. The module Extemporary Capsule, became a kind of phisical introduction of the Portuguese Pavillon at the XXI Triennale International Exhibition Milan 2016 based inside the Leonardo da Vinci National Science and Technology Museum.
