Antoni Plàcid Guillem Gaudí i Cor net
Born in Catalonia, Spain in 1852
He studied in Barcelona from 1873 to 1877
He was awarded the title of architect when he was 26 years old.
Modernist style (Art Nouveau)
Antonio Gaudi was exposure to nature at an early age which is thought to have inspired him to incorporate natural shapes and themes into his work.
Gaudí was at first ridiculed by his peers.
He was first only supported by the rich industrialist Eusebi Güell.
He died, in a pauper's hospital, 3 days after being struck by a streetcar on June 10th, 1926.
He was 74 years old.
