Jim Rickards, here…
When many speak about the Fed implementing a digital dollar (or Biden Bucks) to take the place of physical cash, the conversation usually focuses on just not having spending money in your pocket anymore.
But that’s just one aspect of the problem
The bigger problem is Biden Bucks would give the government a powerful source of control and manipulation
Think about it
When the government is in full control of your money, it opens up the door for manipulating the economy by using you as a pawn and your assets as chess moves
If they need to slow down the economy (as they are attempting to do now with increasing interest rates), they could freeze a certain percentage of your cash so you can’t spend it
If they feel the economy is too slow and needs a jolt of spending, they could punish people who are saving too much with a “spend it or lose it” policy
Once Biden Bucks are rolled out, the government will order citizens to hand in their physical paper cash which will be burned in incinerators
At that point, the pigs (all of us) will be in the slaughterhouse ready for the digital slaughter of negative interest rates, account freezes, tax withholding and outright confiscation for those with the wrong political views.
After all, this is a government-approved digital wallet without any access to physical cash as you know it now.
Some might find that farfetched, but those are probably the same people who thought that China’s “Social Credit System” was implausible until it was actually implemented
In a completely digital world, what would stop the government from having individualized interest rates for every citizen?
Welcome to the world of Biden Bucks
What kind of freedom does physical cash offer you?
For one, it’s untraceable
It’s anonymous
It is relatively lightweight; a million dollars in one-hundred-dollar bills weighs 22 pounds and fits neatly in a standard attaché case
It’s not perfect, but it’s much better than credit cards, debit cards, wire transfers, and other digital payment channels if you want to avoid government interference.
That’s the point.
Another thing about physical cash... it’s not hackable.
ALLthe data that the government will have on every aspect of your life would be a dream come true for hackers. Identity theft would become commonplace.
And forget privacy That would be a thing of the past
These are scary times we are living in and will only get worse with the implementation of Biden Bucks
So, what can you do to fight back?
One, I have always recommended keeping some physical cash at home or in a safe place
I wouldn’t recommend too much cash because the time may come when cash is declared illegal and you have 60 days to hand in your cash for digital credit
Handing in too much cash may cause you to be put on a watchlist from a tax or money laundering perspective, even though the money is yours and you obtained it legally
But it’s a good idea to have some cash just for these emergency situations
Second, buy some gold
You might not be able to fight back easily in the world of Biden Bucks, but gold is a non-digital, non-hackable, nontraceable form of money you can still use
One ounce silverAmerican Eagles and ¼ ounce (8 gram)American Gold Eagles are the best form of money for day-to-day transactions.
Also, you need a way to “sidestep” Biden Bucks and the total surveillance state that is coming soon.
Away to protect your freedom as well as your savings.
