“A PUBLIC SPACE IN THE UNDERGROUND OF SÃO PAULO” Architecture and urbanism: Bachelor final project

The project’s territory was a residual area, generated by city constructions never completed. The design proposal was installed in abandoned underground galleries. A public space was created,

connecting various levels of the city to public transport and using 5,000 square meters that had been unused since 1968. Revit, Sketchup, Vray, Photoshop, Indesign. Autocad, Lasercut

LABORATORY Clinical analysis center This design has focus on functionality, sustainability, and aesthetic appeal. Entering the laboratory, visitors are greeted by a spacious and light-filled reception area. The interior design prioritizes functionality and efficiency, with planned workstations optimized for workflow and collaboration among researchers and technicians. I was responsible for creating the architectural project and making the

complementary projects compatible. I also: ▐ Followed the construction on site from foundation to finishing and resolved conflicts between different teams. ▐ Ensured the project followed the original plan despite delays, issues with material procurement, and problems related to schedule overlaps. HISTORY OF BRAZILIAN FURNITURE DESIGN 3D printed pieces exposed in Sao Paulo and Milan I was responsable to 3D print part of 150 models of iconic pieces from the ETEL Collection. The pieces were exhibited at SP-Arte (São Paulo-2023) and Salone del mobile (Milan-2023). The furnitures were designed from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day by (but not only):

14

Oscar Niemeyer, Lina Bo Bardi, Isay Weinfeld, Paulo Mendes da Rocha and Jorge Zalszupin. Rhino, Sketchup, Fusion 360, Cura, Prusa. Material: PLA (FDM) and Resine (SLA).

EXPLORING DIGITAL FABRICATION + MODEL MAKING Experimenting with materials, techniques and tools At “Estudio Mãos” I had the opportunity to explore the interfaces between architecture, art and technology. In parallel to the paid projects, there were research and frequent presence of students. All of this added knowledge and diversity of subjects related to the studio’s broader field.

Acrylic

Exploring a special cutting pattern with attraction point in Rhino + Grasshopper. A gradient effect was obtained from “square” to “star” with different opening levels according to the distance from the attractor point.

20

By testing the use of specific cutting patterns, some solutions can be found to bend a rigid board material, some more malleable, others more resistant depending on the pattern.

x32

Classic example of a interlocking system. Exploring this method as it is quick to produce on a laser cutter using little raw material. Depending on the proposal, it can be an efficient technique to use.

This project is a dig fab adaptation of the original piece by the artist Georgehart. The parts were designed to be laser cut and to fit perfectly without the need of glue.

GEODESIC Pushing the boundaries of architectural exploration This project involved the design and fabrication of a geodesic dome using laser-cutting. The design process involved precise measurements to ensure the structural integrity and aesthetic appeal of the dome. This project was published by the Buckerminster Fuller Intitute instagram page.

This piece was printed using FDM technology. This material has interesting characteristics, but achieving a satisfactory result with an Ender 3 is a challenge, as it has elastic properties the extruder’s traction must be very finely tuned.

This is an exam that was printe with no assembl has elastic pot although no ela was used. Print

CHAMBER OF ENIGMAS Innovative design possibilities In this artwork were combined polarized filter and transparent tape to change the direction of light and create a unique visual effect. Exhibited in the “Bank of Brasil cultural’s center” under “Ancient Egypt: From Everyday to Eternity” (2020). In collaboration with Rafael Cotait and Marcos Muzi.

FASHION DESIGN Contemporary design with precision engineering Fashion and digital fabrication represent an exciting intersection where technology meets creativity, revolutionizing the way clothing and accessories are designed, produced, and experienced. This is an artwork designed by Leonardo Di Borges (student at IED-SP) and prototyped at Estúdio Mãos.
