• Terrace gardens with trees and plants help creating a pleasant micro climate in addition to attractive gathering spaces for the employees..

An Operations Centre with Tower Control was proposed for an international maritime company.
• The orientation of the building and placement of the windows along the longer sides ensure that light enters the building during most parts of the day.

CONCEPT The PDPU Arena is designed as a multipurpose facility to house a sports & recreation centre, host convocations and sports tournaments. The building is designed such that all HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing Services are accommodated within depth of the structure itself, enabling a clear span for sports activities to take place unhindered. I was involved as the project architect from concept design to preparation of tender drawings and client meetings. The project is currently on hold by the client. Project Timeline: October, 2014 to February, 2015.

Repairing the low lying lands, and maintaining the higher lands. The purpose was to design new visions for cities in San Francisco Bay Area addressing sea level rise and increase in population. Blocks were re-zoned and water sensitive infill strategies were proposed to create a more liveable environment.

The Park is designed along the historic Mission Creek. It is designed as a riparian strip with bioswales and bio-retention tanks to receive, treat and transport stormwater. Taking advantage of the immediate context- SPCA and SF Animal Care, a dog park has been included in the design. A bikeway runs along the previously existing railway track.

Oshiwara River begins from catchment basin in Borivali national park and flows westwards into the Arabian Sea via wetlands and mangrove forests. Urban development has encroached onto the mangrove forests making the coast vulnerable to storm surges, sea level rise, erosion among other potential natural disasters.

The aim of this analysis was to propose strategies to address issues around Oshiwara River,’s urban corridor. Main symptoms were water pollution, floods and negative perception of urban rivers. The root causes of these symptoms were Government policies and ambiguous terminologies of urban rivers at national, state and local levels. leading to general public apathy and neglect towards these urban natural systems.

This proposal entails designing a system based on a decentralized approach. a. Rain falling on terraces can be captured via vegetated roof. b. Combined flow through planters (bio-retention planters) along sidewalks will help capture and treat surface runoffs. c. Detention ponds in residential blocks will help capture, treat and store temporarily water from surface runoff within demarcated neighborhood block (proposed sub-watersheds). d. Sub-surface flow wetland systems along edge of the river will collect surface runoff in addition to treated water from detention ponds of neighborhood blocks abutting it.

The facility comes alive and grows like an organism. The capillaries are aligned along the sun’s path, refract the light, making it vitalize every part of the body. The physical infrastructure blends in with the environment and allows people to seamlessly walk into it and be connected with nature.

Ice Fishing on Aura River, Turku, Finland. The aim was to attract attention of people passing by to create a notional connection between the Turku city library and the Turku cathedral.
