FROG PARKING ONLY
All Others Will Be Toad
ave you ever wondered why so many slot machines have frog themes? Well, because frogs are a good luck symbol in many cultures all around the world! They signify wealth, prosperity, and abun-H dance.
For the ancient Romans, the frog was a mascot believed to bring affluence to the home, while for the ancient Egyptians and Greeks, the frog symbolized fertility and inspiration.
In the Native American culture of the Southwest, the frog carries a piece of wood in its mouth because the Mojave people believe frogs brought fire to humans. The Native Americans, like most Asians and Western Europeans, also believe the frog represents the curative, or healing, powers of water. The frog actually embodies the spirit of the water and calls upon the rain to purify and cleanse.
Most Asian cultures also believe the frog symbolizes large fortunes will come with hard work and a clever mind. There is an interesting Chinese legend that says the world rests on the back of a three-legged frog!
By the way, don’t be fooled into believing that you can get warts from touching frogs! You get warts from human viruses and not from frogs or toads for that matter!
Do you believe frogs are lucky? Do you have a good luck charm or statue of a frog in your home? I would love to hear your stories! Have a lucky month! Alexandra Alexandra Lang Editor-in-Chief Editor@AZGamingGuide.com
