Sports Betting Has Arrived In Arizona With Caesars Sportsbook

Casino Del Sol Announces New Retail Sportsbook, SolSports

The wait is finally over and legal sports betting in the state of Arizona is officially live. As an Authorized Gaming Operator of Major League Baseball and in partnership with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Caesars Entertainment, Inc. celebrated sports betting’s legalization with a kickoff event featuring dignitaries and celebrities, a charitable donation of $20,000 to the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation, a ceremonial first bet, and more.

Emmy nominated actor-comedian JB Smoove, who stars as ‘Caesar’ in the brand’s nationwide advertising campaign, Caesars Sportsbook Chief Trends Officer and Brand Ambassador Trey Wingo, Arizona Diamondbacks legend Luis Gonzalez and CEO and President Derrick Hall, along with state dignitaries, including Governor Doug Ducey, placed the ceremonial first bets for charity at Caesars Sportsbook at Chase Field, home of the D-backs. The event featured festivities for fans in attendance, food and beverage, and sports betting 101-style education around responsible gaming before sports bets were placed for the first time at a temporary retail sportsbook at the Chase Field box office ticket windows.

Construction is underway on the new onsite sportsbook, and Casino Del Sol will manage all sports betting activities as the operator.

SolSports is being built in the former Paradiso Lounge space at Casino Del Sol. The spacious 4,000-square-foot venue will surround guests with more than 60 televisions including jumbo flat screens and a high-definition video wall to allow viewing from every angle. Seating more than 100 people, the sportsbook will also feature a full bar, food service, new booths and tables with luxury seating and six live betting windows with personnel ready to assist and answer questions. Casino Del Sol and Casino of the Sun will also have several self-service sports betting kiosks located in both properties.

Instead of partnering with an out-of-state third-party operator, Casino Del Sol will serve as the sportsbook’s operator and bookmaker to deliver a signature, on-brand sports betting experience to guests. OpenSports, the industry’s leading sports betting technology from Scientific Games, will serve as the backend platform powering SolSports.
