GLOBAL GAMING EXPO

Over Two Decades Later, Still Going Strong!

If you have been reading our magazine for the past 15 years, then by now you have learned that October is the month that hosts one of the gaming industry’s largest and most influential trade shows called G2E. The Global Gaming Expo, or simply G2E, is presented by the American Gaming Association (AGA) and appropriately held in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Venetian Expo every Fall.

Recently, I was just reminiscing with some team members about the very first Global Gaming Expo most of us attended that took place October 1 – 3, 2001 and how great it was to be a part of that inaugural experience. Back then, of course, we were employees working in the gaming industry for slot manufacturers – some as mathematicians and game designers and others as software programmers and testers. Today, 21 years later, we are all still so excited and look forward to attending G2E every year. Except for the attendance that was 10,000 and now exceeds 25,000, the only other thing that has changed from that first show in 2001 is our badge color that identifies us all now as the media as opposed to gaming industry employees!

So, you can count on the fact that all of us at the AZ Gaming Guide will be at the Expo in Las Vegas from October 10 - 13 collecting information to report back to all of you, our loyal readers, on all the coolest games and innovative technology coming our way! Stay tuned!
