TRAVEL PLAZA CHAROTI, DAHANU (SEM 5) Travel Plaza design is more form based to be a landmark and attraction point for the passerby. The design programme started with identitfying a site suitable for a potential travel plaza functionality. Concept process and connecting theories of concept and applying to form developement is the challenge. A motel and plaza is designed to cater to all varied types of people. Dynamism of spaces of different spaces is explored and form of travel plaza is derived. Dichotomy of spaces and its theory is studied and understood adn applied for the form development of motel.

DYNAMISM OF SPACES-

Dynamism is the quality of being characterized by vigorous activity and progress. The walls of a single space witnesses a range of activities inside of it. The form is not the only parameter to judge the dynamics of a structure. Spatial quality, fuctions factor into this. The movement of these people is what makes it dynamic. It affects the user in primarily two ways, physically and psychologically.

RURAL SCHOOL RAMSHET, DAHANU (SEM 4)

The rural school project aimed at creating spaces for rural kids who are also the redidents of the place. The design programme started to create furniture which is multifunctional, then the module design followed. Concept for the school was more personified and experiential based where spaces were characterized and inspiredfrom children’s nature. The corridors playing a major role in the learnig process and connecting different spaces. The design form blending with the surrounding so as to make a part of the village and being a integral part of it.

RESTAURANT DESIGN INORBIT MALL, VASHI (INTERIOR DESIGN- SEM 4)

The design demanded to come with a theme for a restaurant which was in vashi .The CONCEPT WAS WINE for the following project. The studio process is to understand the how colors and elements help in creating a ambience for the theme selected. The circulation pattern and the placement of furniture to bifucate different usage pattern of the space. The synchronization of all the elements forming one image of the restaurant. The design challenged how simple furniture makes a difference by just a change in their form.

ANNUAL NATIONAL DESIGN COMPEITION (ANDC), NASA 2017-2018 ACTIVITES ON THE SITE Alternative urban spaces was the andc theme where the negative spaces creating pockets which were ignored or used for illicit activities. Potential Public spaces acts as a community build up and interaction. Mumbai having a organic growing pattern through its course of time, have many such pockets i.e. the urban voids. One such is Dharavi. The brief was hands on design so the actual constructuon, its progress, its management was the task which was challenging. The site is a ground in dharavi of a municipal school, the site is a playground for many schools but is still used for negatives activties such as public littering, open defecation, thefts and drunkards. The conclusion was to understand the design its management and how a urban void can aslo be perceived as a community interaction space and recreation area.

RECITY WORKSHOP WINTER WORKSHOP (SEM 4) RECITY workshop was conducted in 2016 to implement and encourage bycycling as means of transaport rather than conventional four wheelers and two wheelers. We were to study road network of and its hierarchy and traffic movement patterns at different times of the day.

COLLISION POINT A
