Muziris Interpritation Centre Sem:05|Heritage Context
Project Brief : Heritage Interpritation Centre Site Location : Kodungalloor, Kerala,India Site Area : 10,000 sqm The focus is on comprehending a city’s heritage setting through the art and architecture of the surrounding regions and states. The to design a visitor interpretive centre that reflects the heritage character and architectural philosophy. Kodungalloor has seen and experienced more than most places on the earth, from being a legendary port in international maritime trade to being the birthplace of three major religions (Christianity, Judaism, and Islam). It was known as Muziris in Greek mythology, and it is now revered as one of the most culturally and historically significant destinations in all of God’s Own Country. 6 Muziris Interpritation Center, Kodungalloor
The building is positioned north-south to maximise the view of the river and to trap wind within the structure.
The central volume is removed, forming a courtyrad within the building that aids in temperature control.
In the segregated space, OaT and a separate courtyard for the library are established.
There are three ways which addressed the heat exposure from the west are, Double height roof, Material (Clay Brick), Double wall insulation.

The courtyard of Kodungalloor Muziris Fort is the spiritual space of this Interpretation center. The people who enter the courtyard are greeted by the sloped roof, laterite stone, and verandah which takes them back to the past that they left behind.
People that come to the first floor after seeing the exhibits observe the wonderful view of the river from the balcony, which makes them realise the importance of the river in the past.
Oat facing the River The appropriateness of use and choice of building materials establishes heritage character and architectural philosophy.

Mixed Use Building, Kolkata Sem 06 | Urban Context
Project Brief : Functionally Complex Buildings Site Location : Shakespere sarani, Kolkata, India Site Area : 11,000 sqm The focus of the studio is on functionality and integration of advanced technology and services. The studio enables understanding the complex mechanisms of designing service intensive buildings in tight urban context, having multiple levels (above and/or underground). The special emphasis is on utilitarian parameters, space optimisation, conformance with regulatory requirements, integration of structural systems and building services (HVAC, fire, electrical, mechanical, communication, plumbing etc.) in architectural layout and construction technology. 12 Mixed Use Building, Kolkata

In Kolkata’s Shakespeare Sarani junction, the site is located at a crossroads of two of the city’s busiest roadways. Given the traffic, the commercial block is approached from Loudon Street, while the residential block is approached from Moira Street. Both commercial and residential blocks have their own parking lots. The retail shops are on the ground floor, and the food court is on the first storey. Above the food court, a roof garden is provided for residential users to utilise for` running and other recreational activities. The residential block begins on the fourth storey, with two two-bedroom houses, two three-bedroom houses, and two duplex houses on each floor.
The building has four lift cores, each spaced around 25 metres apart to comply with fire exit regulations. You are led to a corridor with an open shaft that extends to the roof for ventilation and light as you exit the lift in the residential building. The duplex houses are situated in such a way that they provide us with a spectacular perspective of the city. The toilet and bedroom are located on the edge of the building to ensure that they receive adequate light and ventilation. Louvers act as an ornamental aspect of the building in addition to giving shade to the apartment block. 16 Mixed Use Building, Kolkata

Novo Calicut Bus Terminus Competition | ANDC 20-21
Project Brief : Post Pandemic Design Bus Terminus Site Location : Calicut, Kerala, India Won Special Mention This design competition conducted by NASA was done by myself along with my colleagues: Hanzel, Nasooh, Uday, Nandhakrishnan, and Anjay. This competition is the most exciting work we’ve ever done, and we had a great time doing it. The key things, such as separating people according to their destination and creating bus circulation, were my inputs, and they were the basis for the entire form of the building from which it developed. I solely designed the basement and the bus terminus waiting rooms. The comic style was one of the approaches we took during the presentation of this work that drew greater attention to us. As expected, we received a special mention for this work. 18 Novo Calicut Bus Terminus
