The mission of the Arkadelphia Public Schools is to create a quality learning organization where student achievement results in excellence within the local and global community.
APS consists of five individual campuses, all of which are accredited by AdvancEd and the Arkansas Department of Education. District accreditation was conducted on January 1316, 2013. In addition to the number of K-12 students reflected by the ADM figure, APS serves a total of 171 students ages 6-weeks through 4-years-old at three facilities. Perritt PreK serves 78 4-year-olds. Peake Rosenwald serves 44 3-year-olds and the Early Childhood Center at Gum Springs serves 49 students, ages 6-weeks through 2-years-old. Therefore, the total number of students served in the Arkadelphia Public Schools is 2,153.

Assessment & Achievement
Progress of APS students is measured routinely through a variety of assessments such as:
• Arkansas Comprehensive Testing and Accountability Plan (ACTAAP) • Iowa Test of Basic Skills – K-2 & 9 • Augmented Benchmark Exam – 3-8 • End of Course – Algebra 1, Geometry, Biology • 11th Grade Literacy Exam • ACT – All 11th grade students, PLAN, EXPLORE, PSAT • AP Exams • The Learning Institute (1-11) – 8 times per year • PPVT – All students entering Kindergarten • QELI – All Kindergarten students • PARCC Assessment – Pilot 2014

The results of these assessments are used to guide data driven decisions across the district, producing an educational strategy which is comprehensive and individualized for every student. Positive results in recent years include: • Mathematics scores have improved significantly across the district. • Literacy scores have improved significantly across the district. • APS not on Focus / Priority list for Arkansas Department of Education.

APS is governed by a seven member board which works closely with the superintendent and district administrators to maintain a long term vision focused on producing the best possible educational experience for every student.

1) To tell the Arkadelphia School District story accurately to all stakeholders. 2) To provide the necessary funds, resources and focus to support the academic achievement of all students. 3) To assess and improve the safety and learning environment of our students in all schools. 4) To research district facility needs and plans. 5) To identify and utilize all possible external community resources to support student achievement.
