"Connecting with Kids" is our core curriculum for teaching the Junior Police Academy. Designed to change the way young people perceive law enforcement in America! From SRO’s to FBI Agents, your cadets will discover the vital role law enforcement plays in securing the safety of all our citizens. Through classroom discussions and student activities, cadets develop a deeper appreciation of law enforcement.
The course’s 60 lessons are divided into four divisions. Introduction: Overview of how course in organized. Division A: Introduces cadets to criminal justice in the United States -providing a solid foundation for the remainder of the course. Division B Introduces cadets to how law enforcement professionals do their jobs. !Focuses on different techniques of discovering a crime and the criminal responsible. Division C Examines the end result of crime fighting -- the arrest, prosecution and incarceration of criminals. The lessons emphasize the due process of law and rights of the individual weighed against the interests of society. Division D Gives cadets a better understanding of crime prevention and how to be proactive in preventing crime in their own community. !Also, discusses terrorism and how it effects the world we live in.
