22 Years of Providing Care, Love and Hope In 1993, members of the state’s logging and forestry community started the Log A Load For Kids program to raise money for Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH). Since that time, the group has demonstrated their commitment to children by raising more than $7.47 million for ACH. The Arkansas Forestry Association and Arkansas Timber Producers Association sponsor this campaign.
$7.47 MILLION RAISED
In 2014, the group raised a record $612,574 in communities throughout the state hosting fish fry dinners, live and silent auctions, golf tournaments and other activities. Arkansas Log A Load For Kids has funded three endowments at Arkansas Children’s Hospital: • •

Cardiovascular Surgery - $1.5 million Each year, more than 20 children receive new, healthy hearts from the hands of ACH’s pediatric cardiothoracic surgeons and their team. In 2011, ACH set a national record by performing 31 pediatric heart transplants. Helicopter Transport - $1.5 million Angel One Transport is a state-of-the-art, intensive care medical transportation system for bringing critically ill and injured infants, children and adolescents as well as adult burn patients from throughout Arkansas and the surrounding states to ACH. Radiology/Imaging - $1 million This department provides the following essential services: diagnostic radiology, computerized nuclear, ultrasound, computerized tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, interventional radiology.
$4 MILLION PLEDGED
The program pledged to contribute funds raised from 2008 to 2013 ($2 million) to help fund a new Trauma Unit, a stateof-the art facility that will treat the state’s most seriously injured children as part of the new South Wing. In late 2011, Log A Load extended this commitment and add an additional $2 million from 2013-2017 fund raising efforts, designated as follows: $1 million to Emergency Services and $1 million to the Trauma Program. To honor this pledge, ACH named the new Emergency Department for Log A Load For Kids of Arkansas.
