DESIGN STUDIO 2. 1 GATE - HEARTH - TOWER YARRALUMLA BAY - CANBERRA The abstract project focuses on utilising the topography base of the selected area, Yarralumla Bay, Canberra. On an overall scale the site acts a progressional threshold of architectural elements that opens up to the bays edge and clear views of Canberra’s CBD. The design is intended to be a creative retreat for no more than two people that practice a design based discipline. The retreat is divided into three stages that represent three core architectural elements; line, plane and volume. These translate into the functional features of a gate and water entrance, a fire place hearth and courtyard and finally the two towers. A heavyweight dwelling with minimal living standards and a lightweight observatory.

DESIGN STUDIO 3. 1 MUSIC LIBRARY AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY CAMPUS The ANU Music Library is situated on the border of the campus, meeting the edge of the city. The conceptual form responds to its urban connection by allowing a major external void that allows the building to follow the cities edge. Along with key alignments from the surrounding context and ground floor circulation. Allowing for ground level activation with a cafe, bar and green space. The multi-purpose building is risen above the ground plane and contains both public and private libraries, a public gallery, artist residency units and concert hall. The structure is built with natural coloured concrete and is encased by a curved perforated mesh with angular creases that follow the horizontal form. Whilst large angled aluminium window frames provide views to the ground level, Mount Ainslie, Black Mountain, ANU Campus and Lake Burley Griffin.

DESIGN STUDIO 3. 2 IAN POTTER CONSERVATORY ANBG BLACK MOUNTAIN The conservatory is situated within the newly formed master plan for the Botanical Gardens and it respects small scale design. The conceptual form takes precedence through church typologies. This precedence has been further developed by situating the form within the Black Mountain’s landscape and by designing massing curves between surrounding paths. The application of the facade elements vary through the grid to allow for depths of transparency and breathability. The facade is elevated upon the grounding element of concrete. Whilst the functionally splits between conservatory spaces, the central space provides a gateway to the gardens and allows for separated internal and external climatic conditions.

MOIST APPLICATION The moist models identify the varied effects of three typical moisture controls within a conservatory. They look to represent the elements through a singular medium of consistency. By applying a smaller resin cast square within a larger square. In-which blue paint is manipulated through both casts to show the duality of a internal and external possibility of moisture. Materials: - Artist resin. - Diluted water colour paint.

Focusing on the external elements and the processes of protecting the internal aspects of a space, whilst considering applications of the canopy line outlining natural water.

Determining the external feature of the Botanic Gardens with opportunities to allow the fresh aspects of the surrounding forests to circulate within a space.

Capturing the internal elements of condensation and extracting the areas to allow for ventilation of moist elements.

JARDIN MULTI-UNIT DEVELOPMENT GREENWAY - CANBERRA Jardin Multi-Unit Development is situated in the new Greenway Southquay master-plan. The project generates a mix of studio, walk up and one to three bedroom units. It is controlled by the master-plans height restrictions and key alignments. Working with the project architect from the initial concept stages to DA completion, I assisted with unit designs and overall documentation.

WODEN GREEN WODEN - CANBERRA The sites overall scheme for Woden included a total of 59 Townhouses., Consisting of 5 different unit typologies. The design includes two storey townhouses surrounding the semi-circular front boundary, as well as three storey townhouses which are positioned at the side and rear boundaries, situated one level below the ground. Working with the project architect from concept to development application completion, I assisted with various townhouse designs, overall documentation and produced 3D imagery.
