INTRODUCTION

Makassar is a provincial capital city of South Sulawesi. Makassar is the largest city in Sulawesi (Celebes) Island. It is also known as gateway to Eastern part of Indonesia and entry point to an adventurous tour to Tanjung Bira, Selayar, Toraja and other tourist destination at South Sulawesi. Makassar is a provincial capital of South Sulawesi and one of the big cities in Indonesia, especially East Indonesia. The climate is wet-tropical with two seasons.

It is the largest city on Sulawesi Island in terms of population number and the fifth largest city in Indonesia after Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, and Medan. From 1971 to 1999, the city was named Ujung Pandang, after a pre colonial fort in the city, and the two names are often used interchangeably. The port city is located on the southwest coast of the island of Sulawesi, facing the Makassar Strait. The city's area is 19,926 square kilometers (7,693 sq mi) and it had a population of around 1.6 million in 2013. Its official metropolitan area, known as Mamminasata, covers an area of 2,473 square kilometers (955 sq mi) and had a population of around 2.5 million at the 2010 Census. Makassar is not only offer for Culture Tour but also available island tour with white sand beaches such as Samalona Island, Kodingareng Keke and other islands that is ideal for swim, sunbathing, snorkeling or diving. We also have TanaToraja. Lies about 328 km north of Makassar, TanaToraja, literally "Torajaland", is a highland region of Southern Sulawesi in Indonesia. TanaToraja, the famed "Land of The Heavenly Kingsâ€?, TanaToraja has unique culture set in stunning scenery. Globalisation and tourism may have impact, but if you venture away from the tarmac roads you will find soon a way of life that has not changed much in the last 100 years.Â


Aiesec LC Unhas AIESEC in Universitas Hasanuddin is one of Local Committee of AIESEC in Indonesia which is established on 2012 and become the platform for young people in Makassar to develop their leadership potential and give positive impact for their society.

AIESEC in Universitas Hasanuddin also known as AIESEC UNHAS is located in Makassar, South Sulawesi. Since its establishment in 2012, AIESEC UNHAS has grown into an organization of more than 300 members (from all around university in Makassar), exchangers and alumnies. It has contributed more than 100 leadership experiences and more than exchange experiences.

Why Aiesec LC Unhas? 1. Faster Matching will be done easily. We expect the LC partner to strive for the Exchange Standards checklist fulfilment that need to be done by sending entity

3. Quality Control and co-delivery For Quality we can give more fact about our LC and culture shock here, so LC partner can give when the OPS happen. In the end EP more mature and not really shock with our culture. We can also control communication flow when EP have a problem. We want the LC partner to have the same vision and intention as we are in delivering the high quality experience for the Eps

2. Balance SUPPLY and DEMAND We can save the EP and we can tell our new TN or old TN if we have EP ready to realize

WINTER PROJECT In this Winter, AIESEC LC UNHAS open four projects for 30 Exchange Participants, in order to make a big impact to society, the projects are urgently needed in Makassar and involving communities for better and more sustainable impacts. 3 projects will start on 18th December until 30 January 2019, and for Edunesia project has a flexible date (September-last March). Be A Hero Of Indonesia

The people with Diabetic Mellitus in Indonesia from 2007 until 2017 still increase become 9,1 million people with DM and also Diabetes Mellitus became the 3rd killer disease in Indonesia. Heroes For Life Project concerns about health issues especially awareness about Diabetes Mellitus for Youth & local people in Makassar. We aim to build awareness & impact to its society about this “3rd Biggest Death Factor in Indonesia” from early to build a good health & wellness of life in 2030 in Makassar.

Big Smile For Makassar

There are many problems found in English learning system in Indonesia. Lack of student motivation is believed to be one of the main problems of learning English. This may be due to students' perceptions of English. EDUNESIA – is a education project that aims to help students in Makassar (5-20 years old) to get the right education especially about English by increasing their knowledge about English, empower them to be brave enough speak English in school, and arrange fun english class to bring fun environment while studying english

Explore East Indonesia Fascinating South Sulawesi

East Indonesia is one of the region of Indonesia that has a variety of charms and natural beauty that really fascinating. Sulawesi island is one of the island in East Indonesia that really famous with natural beauty and full of beautiful destinations. EXPLORE EAST INDONESIA is an explore project that already held twice of AIESEC in UNHAS that concerns on tourism, and natural heritage located in Sulawesi island. It aims to showcasing Indonesian culture especially South Sulawesi and natural heritage to be showcased in media mass or social media.

GREENERATION

Xperience South Sulawesi

GREENERATION 8.0 – Xperience South Sulawesi is a sustainable project from AIESEC in Universitas Hasanuddin concerning on environmental issues especially about Wasting Management in Makassar. Makassar produces more than 1000 m3 of plastic waste and not processed well. We aim to build the awareness and create more impact for our environment especially about the right way to dispose and manage our garbage, even for economic value.

Taxi start from IDR 7.000, the price are various Pete – pete (public transportation) IDR 5.000 Pedicab and Bentor (becak motor) start from IDR 15.000 (depends on distance) Online transportation (such as Uber, Gojek, Grab) the price is depends on distance Makassar are also offer culinary tour with various taste, there are many delicious meals can be found around Makassar ranging from traditional foods to seafood, the most famous of traditional food is Coto Makassar. Konro dish is also popular traditional food in Makassar. Both Coto and Konro are usually eaten with Burasa or Ketupat. Makassar is a home of Pisang Epe (pressed banana), as well as Pisang Ijo (green banana). Many street vendors sell Pisang Epe, especially around the area of Losari Beach. Pisang Ijo is a banana covered with green coloured flours, coconut milk, and syrup.
