How does water

get to your faucet?

If you live in the city your water comes from a reservoir.

The water in the reservoir is collected from rivers and brooks, from rain and snow.

It is stored there and made pure and clean.

Pipes run under the stre

eet

to carry it to you.

As long as the level in the reservoir remains high,

it can run right to your house without any help

back to the height where it started.

because water can climb

If you live in the country your water may come from your own well or private storage place

which was dug deep in the earth to reach the level of water . much deeper than a reservoir.

A pump is needed

into your house.

to travel upward

to push the water into pipes
