As an architecture student, I have always been drawn to the idea of using design to create functional and beautiful spaces that enhance the quality of life for individuals and communities. Throughout my academic career, I have been fortunate to study under inspiring professors who have challenged me to think beyond the traditional boundaries of architecture and consider how design can be used to address social, cultural, and environmental issues.
One of my greatest passions is sustainable design, and I strongly believe that architecture has a crucial role to play in promoting sustainability and mitigating the effects of climate change. am particularly interested in exploring how we can use innovative building materials and technologies to create buildings that are energy-efficient, resilient, and adaptable to changing conditions.
I am also fascinated by the interplay between functionality and aesthetics, creating spaces that are not only visually striking but also serve the needs of their users. am particularly drawn to projects that require creative problem-solving and collaboration with other disciplines, and I enjoy pushing the boundaries of what is possible with technology and design.

Concept;
The project involves creating proper spaces for the customers to lose them in the views. As part of a bigger establishment, it was influenced due to the existing poor conditions of surrounding restaurants and their lack of quality.
The concept for this project is derived from the analysis and breakdown of the project’s needs. The three main aspects of the project, eating/drinking, relaxation and business as usual were literally and functionally studied as they can be narrowed down to various meanings to draw an influence for the design of the building.
This led to the creation of spaces such as eating lounges, private lounge, conference area, boardroom, office, bar, open terrace, kitchen and view decks towards the lake.
The challenge was to create a well thought of thermal environment that caters for the high temperatures in Kisumu. This resulted in large windows that are retractable and full openable as if they were doors with railings on upper storeys during hot temperatures.
The elevations feature design features that compliment the design in a way that it looks modern and pedestrians can appreciate it by far.
These include, glass & steel pergolas, frameless curtain walls, a concrete pergola, sails, glass railings, exposed stairs, etc. A collection of volumes, planes and lines stepped in different directions makes the design look & feel like a masterpiece.

Holy Trinity Church
Concept;
The challenge was to create a standout church design that is visible from far with the site located at a hillside facing several residential developments. Sometimes it is the architecture design location that determines the concept and basis of forming the functional voids & simply the curation of the functions like relaxation through quality spaces. The church has a modern design with clean lines
and simple shapes. The circular form represents unity, infinity, and perfection. The building is divided into two sections - the worship area (centred) and the support facilities.
The entrance to the church faces east to welcome the morning sunlight and symbolize the rebirth and resurrection of Christ.
The color scheme focuses on earthy and natural colors. The stained glass windows feature vibrant colors to reflect the beauty of the surrounding nature.

Concept;
The idea was to create a covered entry for a newly built hotel that engulfs customers and creates a more approachable space. The entry area of the hotel serves as the first impression for guests, setting the tone for their entire stay. The architectural design of this space needed to be carefully considered to create a welcoming, inviting atmosphere.
Concepts include use of a green wall made up of plants that purify the air, reduce noise levels, and improve the aesthetics of a space. It creates a natural and calming atmosphere for guests as they enter the space. The wall is made up of mosses, ferns, and succulents, and is lit from above to highlight its texture and color.
Alucobond panels are used to create a modern and sleek aesthetic. The panels are cut into interesting shapes and patterns to create a dynamic and visually appealing design. These are lit from behind to create a stunning visual effect.
Spotlights are placed strategically to draw attention to these features, and ambient lighting creates a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Design Ideal;
The gas station is an essential component of the bigger precinct development, designed to provide convenient fueling services for commuters and visitors alike. The design of the gas station is modern, functional and aesthetically pleasing, with a focus on sustainability and green design principles.
The exterior of the gas station is designed to be eye-catching and welcoming. The color palette is a combination of earthy tones and bold accents, which help to create a visually striking and memorable design. The use of metal and glass materials also adds a touch of modernity to the design.
The development encompasses an assortment of spaces that include a small cafe, seating areas, and bike racks to encourage more sustainable modes of transportation, such as biking or walking, and to create a more welcoming environment for visitors.

The idea was to create spaces that are functional and aesthetically pleasing for users to enjoy and feel alive within the design. The design of the apartments is modern, with clean lines and a minimalist aesthetic that complements the natural surroundings. The exterior is painted in a light, neutral color palette that varies from white to grey, beige and marries with the overall openings of the block.

The design sits on the slopes of a hill and its oriented to face both Lake Nakuru and the mountains at a 450 degrees angle which is the basic idea behind the design. The slope allows for the creation of a basement that has spaces such as a theatre/cinema room, bar room and relaxation terraces. It also guides the idea behind the stepped planter system, which takes advantage of the slope for the different plantings, trees, planter finishes, etc.
The design also has a port cochere, basement, entry fountain, double volume lounge with a terrace, an open kitchen with an island, large outdoor terrace with sunken lounge, swimming pool, stepped relaxation areas, gazebo with pergola, and 6 bedrooms(all ensuite including a primary bedroom with its own terrace, lounge, jacuzzi, skylights, and large openings).

The ideas included raised cottages, rustic materials i.e, timber struts, wood beams, wood floor finishes, wood cladding, stone entry areas, and pool area.
