Day 1

DEPART 20.00

TRAVEL TO COLOGNE AND EMBARK A-ROSA SILVA

Fly or take the train from the UK to Cologne and transfer to the A-ROSA SILVA. Explore Cologne, with its famous cathedral, museums and lively Old Town. Tonight, enjoy an included welcome dinner on board.

Day 2

KOBLENZ & LORELEI VALLEY

ARRIVE 06.00, DEPART 13.00

Where the mighty Rhine meets the Moselle, Koblenz has 2,000 years of history. Enjoy an included walking tour of the Old Town or opt to take the cable car over the Rhine to the hilltop Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. In the afternoon, we sail through the UNESCO-recognised Lorelei Valley, with steeply-terraced vineyards plunging towards the river, picture-perfect villages and fairy tale castles perched on hilltops. This evening, enjoy an included highlight culinary experience on board.

Day 3

FRANKFURT

ARRIVE 06.00, DEPART 17.00

Head to the restored Old Town and see the reconstructed timber-framed houses so synonymous with this region. Soak up the atmosphere in the city’s beautiful Romerberg Square.

Day 4 WERTHEIM

ARRIVE 12.00, DEPART 17.00

Cruise on the Main River this morning, arriving at ancient Wertheim, with its well-preserved city wall, narrow alleyways, richly decorated half-timbered houses and pretty market square.

Day 5 WÜRZBURG

ARRIVE 08.00, DEPART 18.00

A full day exploring the capital of Franconia. Choose a tour of the Royal Residence, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, built in a similar style to Vienna’s Schönbrunn Palace - it’s one of the finest royal palaces in Europe.

ARRIVE 15.00, DEPART 19.00

Sail on the Main to Bamberg, the ancient Franconian seat of bishops and emperors with its splendid cathedral, churches and monasteries, alleyways and baroque facades. Bamberg is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Germany’s prettiest cities. It’s also famed for its unique smoked beer, try one in a traditional tavern for a real taste of the city.

Day 7 NUREMBERG

ARRIVE 09.00

A full day and evening to explore Nuremberg. Opt for an excursion to visit the St Lorenz Church, the Nazi Party Rally Grounds and the Palace of Justice. Tonight, enjoy an included farewell dinner.

Day 8

Disembark Nuremberg

Disembark after breakfast and be transferred to the airport or station for your return journey to the UK. Alternatively, add a few extra days in the city - ask for more details.

This cruise also operates in the reverse direction, from Nuremberg to Cologne.
