Day 1

TRAVEL TO LYON AND EMBARK

Fly to Lyon or travel by rail with Eurostar via Paris and transfer to your ship for your 5-night cruise. Tonight, enjoy an included welcome dinner on board.

Day 2 VIVIERS

ARRIVE 10.00, DEPART 19.00

Prepare to be bowled over by Viviers today. Filled with layer upon layer of history, from Roman to medieval times and beyond, Viviers is a true French countryside gem.

Day 3

ARLES AND AVIGNON

ARRIVE ARLES 03.30, DEPART 14.00

Arles is the Provençal city par excellence. Once a leading Roman city, it today boasts the fascinating evidence of that bygone era including a Roman Arena dating to the 1st century. Famously, it was home to Vincent van Gogh and it was there he produced at least 200 paintings. Enjoy the magnificent sun in the southern-most destination along your journey.

Once centre of the Roman Catholic church, Avignon is steeped in rich historical significance. The incredible Palais des Papes, the largest gothic palace ever built, is an unmissable titan of medieval architecture.

Day 4 AVIGNON

DEPART 12.00

After spending the evening in beautiful Avignon, watch the sun rise at the beautiful Pont D’Avignon. You could also tuck into some delicious French pastries at one of Avignon’s many patisseries. La Patisserie Vernet comes highly recommended.

Day 5 VIENNE

ARRIVE 09.00, DEPART 09.30

At Vienne, take an optional excursion to Perouges.

LYON ARRIVE 13.00

Lyon becomes even more picturesque as the sun goes down. We recommend a leisurely evening stroll over the Pont Bonaparte to The Places des Jacobins where you’ll see a stunning white marble fountain illuminated to spectacular effect. Whatever you choose to do, fine food and wine awaits you in the gastronomic capital of France. Tonight, enjoy an included farewell dinner.

Day 6

Disembark Lyon

ARRIVE 15.00, DEPART 21.30

Disembark after breakfast and be transferred to the airport for your return journey to the UK. Alternatively, add a few extra days in the city - ask for more details.
