The program includes top hotels, from the world-famous Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro to the gracious Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor in Siem Reap. Private visits and extraordinary touring options are too numerous to list here – I hope you’ll continue reading to get a better sense of this remarkable journey! We are honored to be working with Captain’s Choice on this program, and delighted to present this itinerary to Academic Arrangements Abroad travelers. WITNESS THE WORLD’S ICONS MEXICO

TAHITI

INDIA

Gazing at thousand-year-old ruins in the shadows of ancient civilizations. This is Mexico: a place filled with ancient wonders from the Mayans and the Aztecs, with centuries worth of history still living today. You’ll feel strangely at home from the moment you arrive, strolling through the colonial-era streets of Mérida and unraveling the mysteries of the Mayans at Chichen Itza on Day 2.

Have you ever had the pleasure of choosing between two idyllic Tahitian islands? Lazing away in the turquoise waters of Moorea, with your own private bungalow perched above the sea, you’ll feel every worry melt away. For those serious about luxury, the accommodations in Bora Bora are sure to pamper your every whim. One thing is for certain: on Day 8, the decision will be far from easy!

A whirlwind of emotions — in India, you’ll experience them all! The chaotic yet captivating city of Delhi sparkles beneath its gritty surface. Around every corner, an ancient monument, museum, or marketplace beckons. Then there’s Agra, home to the majestic Taj Mahal and its gleaming red Agra Fort. No sunset in the world comes close to being this impressive, and on Day 17, you’ll witness it for yourself.

AUSTRALIA

TANZANIA

It’s hard to believe that just an hour from the bright lights and iconic architecture of Sydney’s famous harbor are the spectacular World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains. The land “Down Under” is young, diverse, and beautiful. On Days 11 and 12, you’ll spend time seeing the highlights: visiting the Opera House, climbing the Sydney Harbor Bridge, and feeling the might of Mother Nature in the Blue Mountains.

Have you ever spotted a lion stalking its prey just a few feet away? Or taken a hot-air balloon ride over African plains? Tanzania – with its famous Serengeti and World Heritage-listed Ngorongoro Crater — is home to 40 national parks and game reserves, and from Day 19 you’ll get up close to some of the rarest creatures known to man.

BRAZIL Home to some of the world’s greatest sights, from pulsating cities and a towering religious statue to incredible natural beauty, Brazil is nothing short of dazzling. Strolling along the sun-kissed promenade of Rio de Janeiro’s famous Copacabana Beach... witnessing the epic, thunderous power of Iguazu Falls... from Days 3-6, you’ll experience two of the country’s most inspired moments and so much more.

EASTER ISLAND A tiny dot in the Pacific Ocean, famous for its massive stone Moai statues, Easter Island is one of the most isolated and mysterious places on earth. Sprinkled across a landscape of volcanoes, caves, and beaches, over 800 Moai stand silently watching the sky, as they have done for centuries. A pure sort of innocence is apparent at Easter Island — the remote, prehistoric beauty will amaze you on Day 7.

CAMBODIA In Cambodia’s northern province of Siem Reap, you’ll find Angkor Wat, the largest Hindu (later Buddhist) temple and religious monument in the world. Home to the ruins of the Khmer Empire which reigned from the 9th to the 15th centuries, the Angkor complex is one of Asia’s most incredible archaeological sites. Spanning more than 150 square miles, its sheer presence is sure to overwhelm on Day 14.

LONDON – MÉRIDA (MEXICO)

RIO DE JANEIRO

Day 1: Thursday, March 5 The first part of our journey will take you in spacious comfort to Mexico. Enjoy a glass of champagne as you ponder the experience that lies before you. Gazing out the window, you’ll find it impossible not to feel excited. The mysterious Chichen Itza, one of the world’s new Seven Wonders, awaits at your next stop. Land in Mérida mid-afternoon (after a short refuel stop).

Day 4: Sunday, March 8 Waking up in Rio, you’ll be welcomed with open arms, quite literally. From almost every part of the “marvelous city” you’ll see Christ the Redeemer, the world’s largest Art Deco statue — keeping a watchful eye from the top of Corcovado Mountain. Even by night, the statue’s glow illuminates the amber sky.

Meet and greet your fellow travelers at a casual welcome dinner.

RIO DE JANEIRO

Explore the city by horse-drawn carriage, or stroll around the Plaza de Armas.

Day 5: Monday, March 9

CHICHEN ITZA Day 2: Friday, March 6 Exploring the grounds of Chichen Itza, you’ll witness a magnificent Mayan city, where water gods were worshipped and ancient games were played. The incredible “time temples” were built around 900 AD to echo the stars in the sky and unveil the mysteries of the Mayan calendar. Counting the steps of the iconic pyramid El Castillo today, you’ll notice there are 365... one for every day of the year.

Take a shuttle bus to the jewelry museum and shops of iconic Ipanema.

Today you may choose your own Rio adventure. Shop for jewelry, antiques, and Brazilian bargains in Lapa; learn more about the city’s culture on a revealing tour of its favelas; or simply hit the beach for a day of sun and sand with the Cariocas (locals). However you decide to enjoy Rio, just before sunset you’ll ride the cable car up Sugarloaf Mountain. As the day draws to a close and night begins, the twinkling lights of the city appear at your feet. This is a moment you’ll never forget.

RIO DE JANEIRO (BRAZIL)

Hit the shops or beaches, or discover Rio’s favelas by 4-wheel drive vehicle.

Day 3: Saturday, March 7

Take the cable car up Sugarloaf Mountain to catch a spectacular sunset over Rio.

One of Brazil’s largest and most vivacious cities awaits you this afternoon. Step off your privately chartered jet and stroll along the scalloped promenade. Surrounded by towering beachfront hotels, and one of the most iconic stretches of coastline in the world, this is Rio at its finest.

IGUAZU FALLS – EASTER ISLAND (CHILE) Day 6: Tuesday, March 10 Legend has it that Iguazu Falls, one of the new Seven Wonders, was actually the result of a forbidden love triangle between God, the woman he was to marry, and her mortal lover. Learning of the betrayal, God sliced the river in rage, condemning the two to an eternal fall.

As you follow the walkway across the water to the base of the thundering torrent today, you’ll witness this very same fall for yourself. See Iguazu Falls up close on an exhilarating boat trip to the base or watch from above on a helicopter flight (additional cost).

EASTER ISLAND Day 7: Wednesday, March 11 This tiny island is the stuff of legends. In just over 40 square miles is a landscape of volcanoes, lakes, and more than 800 giant Moai statues: individual humanoid figures carved out of 90-ton monoliths between the years 1250 and 1500. Scattered across the countryside, these silent, mysterious witnesses create a spellbinding archaeological puzzle and today you’ll marvel at their startling perfection.

MOOREA OR BORA BORA (TAHITI) Days 8 & 9: Thursday & Friday, March 12 & 13 Sit back and relax aboard your private jet – by this time you will have already made the difficult decision: Moorea or Bora Bora. Which incredible Tahitian island did you choose? Heading straight to the ferry dock, you’ll feel the wind in your hair aboard a highspeed catamaran across the Sea of the Moon to the enchanted island of Moorea. If Bora Bora takes your fancy, then simply fly to its blue lagoon for two nights. Pure heaven on earth. Fly to Bora Bora instead, staying in a luxurious overwater bungalow featuring glass floors and private pool. (limited availability)

FLYING TO AUSTRALIA

SYDNEY

Day 10: Saturday, March 14

Day 11: Monday, March 16

Watching the sun rise above the water from the privacy of your cozy bungalow, there is time for one last morning stroll or dip before bidding Tahiti goodbye. The sunny shores of Australia beckon and transferring via Papeete, you’ll find yourself once again aboard your private jet. Sink back into your comfortable VIP seat, enjoy a glass of fine champagne, and watch the clouds roll by…

Decisions, decisions! Should you choose stylish, sophisticated Sydney or would you prefer two days in the picturesque Blue Mountains? For those who choose Sydney, this morning you’ll find your bearings strolling in the city’s historic Rocks district, past the celebrated Opera House and Sydney Harbor Bridge, to the Royal Botanical Gardens and beyond. In the afternoon take to the water aboard a luxury cruiser, to explore the harbor from an inspiring new perspective.

SYDNEY (AUSTRALIA) Sunday, March 15 A day lost crossing the International Date Line Flying aboard your privately chartered jet, you’ll feel right at home with the same friendly captain and crew on hand to keep you comfortable. We lose the day crossing the International Date Line. Early this evening the buzzing metropolis of Sydney awaits us. With its famous harbor just outside your door, the city is even more alive by night.

10

Escape the city with a stay in the majestic Blue Mountains instead, including two blissful nights at the truly magnificent Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa. (additional cost)

SYDNEY Day 12: Tuesday, March 17 Want to see the whole of Sydney in one sweeping, 360-degree panorama? Climbing the Harbor Bridge, you’ll discover neighboring beaches and suburbs you never knew existed, while over near the Opera House, pedestrians walk around the Quay looking more like

tiny dots. With every step, sheer beauty and accomplishment surround you. Unforgettable. Climb to the top of the Sydney Harbor Bridge for incredible views. (additional cost) Hop on a harbor ferry to explore the famous beaches of Bondi and Manly. Take to the skies on a seaplane lunch adventure. (additional cost)

SIEM REAP (CAMBODIA) Day 13: Wednesday, March 18 The fascinating Angkor region awaits you. This is the charming city of Siem Reap, where the number of luxury hotels, fine restaurants, and day spas is starting to outnumber temples. But amidst the city’s newfound hustle and bustle, its peaceful tree-lined river, and quaint colonial buildings lies a community bonded by tradition and culture.

ANGKOR WAT Day 14: Thursday, March 19 This morning, should you choose to rise early, you’ll catch the first glimpse of the spectacular sunrise over Angkor Wat. And later this afternoon, you’ll explore inside the temple’s

12th-century walls, where all three levels can still be climbed. Nearby, Angkor Thom and the jungle temple of Ta Prohm quietly await, as do the giant remains of the Bayon. Wake early to catch an unforgettable sunrise over Angkor Wat. Opt for a free afternoon or discover the region’s lesser-known temples.

TONLE LAKE Day 15: Friday, March 20 Relax or continue exploring? Take a day to enjoy your hotel and Siem Reap, explore more temples, or venture out to Tonle Sap Lake, where the birdlife is profuse? From the middle of the vast lake you won’t even be able to see the shores. Full-day tour with a cruise on Tonle Lake. Finish your book by the pool or take in a spa treatment at the Kong Kea Spa. Lose yourself in the back streets of Siem Reap in search of silk creations. Explore more of the incredible temple complex.

AGRA (INDIA) Day 16: Saturday, March 21 Board your private jet to Delhi this morning then transfer at the Indian capital for an easy coach ride to Agra — home to the shining white monument of love. Arriving at your hotel, marvel at the view out your window of the splendid Taj Mahal. Of course this famous mausoleum isn’t the city’s only gem. Bustling markets and plenty of places to sample the legendary local cuisine offer fun diversions.

AGRA Day 17: Sunday, March 22 Today the Taj Mahal is yours to witness up close. Completed in 1648 by Shah Jahan as a symbol of love to his wife, this perfectly symmetrical masterpiece took 22 years and 20,000 workers to create. Walking around the gleaming white monument, you’ll marvel at the exquisite stone inlay and carving. Wander up to witness the Taj transform at sunrise or simply watch it from your room. Join your personal shopping guide in search of carpets, jewelry, and souvenirs.

Monks, Angkor Wat, Cambodia

Visit the abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri, deserted in 1619.

DELHI Day 18: Monday, March 23 One of the oldest cities in the world, Delhi overwhelms with its bustling vibrancy. This is a city that’s gritty on the surface yet hides undeniable sparkle. Dig a little deeper today and you’ll find incredible ancient monuments including India’s largest mosque, the Jama Masjid; a fascinating National Museum; and some of the most interesting bazaars you’ll ever experience.

Market goods, Agra, India

Take a short sightseeing and shopping tour.

SERENGETI (TANZANIA)

SERENGETI

Day 19: Tuesday, March 24 A calmness sweeps over you as you leave the frenetic pace of India for the soothing beat of Africa, first evident in the Serengeti’s famous jumping Masai tribes. Land at Kilimanjaro airport to transfer to the smaller aircraft that will take you into the heart of the Serengeti. The search for the “Big Five” (lion, elephant, leopard, rhinoceros, and buffalo) starts as soon as you land at Serona, gateway to the Serengeti. As you commence your first safari drive en route to your accommodation, the traffic of Delhi is already a distant memory.

Day 20: Wednesday, March 25 You may wish to capture the first light over the Serengeti by majestic balloon flight and watch as wildlife wander down to the watering holes to drink. Imagine watching zebras and gazelles graze quietly, while a herd of wildebeest follow strictly in single file just a few feet away; or spotting a hidden lioness in the dry grass. These are the moments you’ll never forget. Enjoy one last dinner together as a group, with plenty of time to reminisce. Capture early morning light and the awakening animals on a hot-air balloon flight across the Serengeti plains. (additional cost)

SERENGETI – LONDON Day 21: Thursday, March 26 Not everyone can say they’ve been around the world in 21 days, but today you can officially claim that accomplishment! You have time for one more game drive or a relaxing breakfast before boarding your private jet for the last time. Saying goodbye to your fellow travelers will feel more like farewelling family as you arrive in the U.K. Transfer to London Heathrow for the scheduled flight, arriving in the United States later the same day.
