CONSTRUCTION PROCESS Collect mud and spread it out under the sun to dry, to facilitate easier filtering Cut the strawto shorter lengths, soak it in water to ease its mixing with the mud and mortar. Combine the mix with the straw and an organic plant stabiliser by stamping them together. Continue making lumps of cob and packing it into the structure.

WOOD WORKSHOP PROJECT TYPE : WINDOW 1. In this intervention we had to study a “Mashrabiya” of a mosque in Tajikistan. We were asked to design a new pattern according to the traditional Islamic architecture.
2. We were a group of 8. We studied the history and the establishment of the Islamic architecture of Tajikistan. While designing we considered the play of light and the wind movement according to it’s native land.
3. We then got our design finalised and proceeded to build the window. The entire process went through 5 stages, and them being - Selection and cutting of wood, welding the iron according the design, louvers, assemblage of the materials, with the assistance of a professional
PROJECT TYPE : TRUSS DETAIL 1. In this exercise we were asked to study any detail of an existing building and to replicate the detail in a much larger scale. The detail which we chose was the traditional Japanese truss.
2. We were a group of 4. We studied the half - timbered houses and their evolution with time which helped us learning the techniques involved in building a half timbered house.
3. We first designed a prototype and after discussing the same with our mentors we moved forward and built the detail. This exercise helped me in developing greater understanding regarding the construction of beautiful and meaningful spaces.
