AHLI JAWATANKUASA FATWA 2022 - 2025 DILANTIK
Jawatankuasa Fatwa baharu telah dilantik Januari lalu diketuai oleh
Sohibus Samahah Mufti Dr Nazirudin Nasir.
Di samping itu, Jawatankuasa Fatwa penggal ini mempunyai empat Ahli Penuh dan disokong oleh 24 Ahli Bersekutu Jawatankuasa Fatwa baharu.
Daripada 24 orang itu, terdapat 7 ahli baharu yang mempunyai kepakaran termasuk penyelidikan, pembangunan kurikulum dan penyeliaan sebuah organisasi kebajikan masyarakat.
Dalam ucapan Mufti pada majlis penghargaan dan pelantikan yang diadakan baru-baru ini, Mufti mengiktiraf sumbangan besar Jawatankuasa
Fatwa yang telah dilantik pada penggal 2019-2022, khususnya dalam
memberikan bimbingan agama yang mantap semasa pandemik Covid-19

Pencapaian ini telah membuat Singapura berjaya memperoleh Anugerah
Imam Al-Qarafi atas kecemerlangan dalam Fatwa daripada Sekretariat
Agung Pihak Berkuasa Fatwa Seluruh Dunia.
Melangkah ke hadapan, Mufti menggalakkan Jawatankuasa baharu untuk
terus menggunakan tradisi Islam yang kaya dalam isu-isu kontemporari yang kompleks sambil mengambil kira pertimbangan moral dan etika serta
implikasi jangka panjangnya Penggal baharu telah bermula pada 23 Sep 2022 dan akan berakhir pada 6 Ogos 2025.

ADVANCING RELIGIOUS THOUGHT LEADERSHIP: MUIS' RESEARCH PROGRAMME IN THE STUDY OF MUSLIM COMMUNITIES OF SUCCESS
With the evolution of our society, which is becoming increasingly diverse, there is a pressing need to develop new knowledge domains to address challenges and provide solutions to meet the religious needs and changing aspirations of our community.
In 2021, Muis established the Research Programme in the Study of Muslim Communities of Success (RPCS) to promote the future of religious thought leadership.
The programme has conducted numerous seminars and roundtable discussions with local and international scholars, aimed at addressing relevant socio-religious issues
At the 2023 Committee of Supply (COS) Debate, Muis announced its plans to strengthen the programme's research infrastructure and support, enabling our asatizah to provide contextually appropriate guidance based on the rich, multifaceted, and intricate traditions of Islam for Muslim minority communities

77 GRADUAN PCICS DIRAIKAN
Tahniah kepada graduan asatizah kami yang telah menyelesaikan Sijil Pasca Siswazah dalam Islam dalam Masyarakat Kontemporari (PCICS)
tahun 2022!
Februari lalu, Muis meraikan pencapaian yang besar oleh 77 graduan asatizah di Gardens by the Bay. Majlis ini menjadi lebih bermakna kerana ini adalah kali pertama graduan PCICS dapat menyambut bersama-sama dengan keluarga dan orang yang tersayang
Ustaz Afzhalur Abdul Jaleel dan Ustazah Nabilah Mohamad Jumli adalah
dua graduan terbaik tahun ini dan telah menunjukkan kecemerlangan dalam praktikum mereka. Mereka juga antara 11 asatizah yang diiktiraf kerana prestasi cemerlang dalam program.
Muis komited untuk terus membangunkan keupayaan pemimpin agama
masa depan dan berharap agar mereka dapat membuat sumbangan terhadap masyarakat.

HAJ REGISTRATION RESUMES
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has allocated 900 places for Singaporean Pilgrims for Haj 1444H/ 2023. In view of this resumption, we are now able to resume clearing the backlog of approximately 35,000 applicants already registered in the Muis Advance Haj Registration System (AHRS), and are now able to welcome new Haj registration

FUDAYL IBN 'IYADH: THE JOURNEY OF LOVE & REPENTANCE
In the famous work on history and biography, Siyar A’lam An-Nubala’ (lives of the noble figures) by Imam Az-Zahabi, the writer narrated a description about Fudayl Ibn Iyad, which said:
I have witnessed the most knowledgeable, pious and chaste of people; (they are) Waki’, Fudayl Ibn Iyad, and Ibn Mubarak
Fudayl Ibn Iyad is no stranger to our Islamic tradition He is a scholar and a virtuous figure who is known for his wisdom, trustworthiness, piety and spirituality. However, contrary to what many might think, he wasn’t born on a silver platter, nor was he brought up with a prestigious religious education. As a matter of fact, he was once the head of a highway robbery syndicate.
How did someone who is known for delinquency and misdeed not only turn over a new leaf but reach an excellent level of virtue and is remembered today for his immense contributions and good deeds? What could’ve motivated him to change? What were the hurdles he had to face?
