2. KEBERANIAN
In line with the new guidelines for worship services under Phase 3 (Heightened Alert), mosques made preparations to offer more spaces for Friday congregational prayer in a safe manner, for congregants who have been fully vaccinated or successfully undergone Pre-Event Testing. Muis ran a pilot on Friday, 25 June 2021 for 4 mosques to test these capabilities, as they open an additional zone per session for Friday prayers. Over the subsequent weeks, more spaces will be opened up at more mosques if the situation remains stable. As more congregants in the community complete their vaccination or get used to Pre-Event Testing procedures, Muis eventually hopes to be able to safely accommodate the maximum allowed number of places under Phase 3(HA). This is in line with the national strategy of Test, Trace and Vaccinate. Do stand by for more information on this. You may also refer to https://www.moh.gov.sg/covid-19/pet or details on Pre-Event Testing. We will also provide more information on the resumption of other activities in the mosque, such as aLIVE classes, in due course. In the meantime, mosques will continue to offer 50 places for congregational prayer every day, with bookings through the mosque online booking system. We thank the community for its patience and cooperation in this journey with us to resume more activities in our mosque safely. The full media release is also available here: https://bit.ly/2SuCjFd

The Continuing Professional Education (CPE) is a training programme started in 2012 by the Asatizah Recognition Board (ARB) to enhance the professionalism and to inculcate a culture of continuous learning and development of asatizah under the Asatizah Recognition Scheme (ARS). An ustaz or ustazah is required to undergo courses under the CPE programme as a pre-requisite for renewal of ARS accreditation. Muis works closely with partners such as Pergas to offer a wide range of courses covering topics such as religious sciences and other disciplines including courses on contemporary issues as well as skills courses to enable asatizah to confidently play their role in building an inclusive nation. Arising from the Committee of Future Asatizah (COFA) recommendations in February 2020, Muis in partnership with the Asatizah Recognition Board initiated a review of the ARS-CPE programme in August 2020 to strengthen asatizah development with a greater emphasis on skills development aligned to the vision of the future asatizah. The review also incorporates the Skills Upgrading Plan as part of the second phase of the Asatizah Workforce Development Plan (AWDP). Hence, the guidebook is published. It features full course directory, course Details (with registration links) an info on CPE Review and ATC Visit http://go.gov.sg/cpe-gb1 to read Continue more on it. Reading

The Muslim woman has always been situated in the centre of politicised, ideological debates. To many in the West, she is the visual symbol of an inherently misogynistic religion that deprives her of autonomy and selfrealisation – she is always “constituted as a figure of subjugation, embedded and controlled by a community” (Crabtree and Husain, 2012:148). On the other hand, it is not uncommon to hear the essentialising of the ‘West’ as the immoral ‘Other’ that seeks to ‘modernise’ the Muslim woman and causes her to abandon her religious values and ‘natural’ responsibilities, in pursuit of ‘liberal’ and ‘feminist’ values of gender equality. In positioning men and women as individuals and as servants of God, the Quran explicitly denies any inherent supremacy of one gender over the other. In Quranic chapter al-Nisaa’, verse 1, God has said which means: “O people! Fear your Lord who created you from a single soul, and created from it is mate, and dispersed from both of them many men and women”. Islam hence enforces gender equality by describing both men and women “as equal human beings in their origin, created from ‘the same soul’ (nafs waahidah) both making up the human race together, as equal partners” (Omar, 2014: 102). Both genders are also equally accountable for their every action, speech and thought before God, and will be rewarded or punished accordingly on equal grounds. There are people who argue that men and women are not equal because it has been divinely revealed that men are superior to women. The verse in which they refer to for justification is found in an-Nisaa’, verse 34 which means: “Men are qawwaamuun of women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah would have them guard….” Continue Reading

Umat Islam hari ini ibarat sedang melalui fasa awal dakwah Rasulullah s.a.w di Mekah; Rasulullah s.a.w dihina, dicaci, diberi nama yang buruk dan umat Islam terkesan

seorang
Muslim,
