DC BOOTH
Paddling upstream to get people excited?
If you didn’t grow up making fun of Aquaman’s ability to speak to fi sh, then you might be one of those people who has no idea how long he’s been around. While I imagine there are people who were stoked to see Aquaman be in charge of 70 percent of the planet and command sharks, I also imagine that is a thin slice of the population. DC has set up shop in south end of the entrance hall for years, but the 2018 format made great use of bridging the new movie to the Lego video game demo on site and how a typically colorful character could appeal to movie goers seeking a brooding anti-hero. —MV

Luis told me about the toys first, so I have to assume he was more excited to see the Watchmen and Superman offerings. Around the booth, I mostly saw people doing the usual fan videos in the Universe corner. —MV
