La palabra para designar los primeros jardines que empezaron a construirse en Japón era «Shima», que significa isla. Un pequeño islote que se situaba en medio de un estanque y constituía el corazón del jardín. En estas obras está muy presente la relación entre la pintura y la idea de jardín japonés como creación de un espacio de naturaleza singular. Lugares que nos invitan al goce y vivencia de una naturaleza de esencias profundas. Tanto el jardín de vegetación, como el de piedra y grava, son espacios de comunión con un paisaje construido, que al igual que la pintura propicia una experiencia del mirar que nos introduce en la quietud y latencia del tiempo.

The name for the first gardens created in Japan was "Shima", which means island. A small island that was located in the middle of a pond and was the heart of the garden. In these works, the relationship between painting and the idea of the Japanese garden as the creation of a singular space of nature is very present. Places that invite us to enjoy and experience a nature of intense essences. Both the vegetation garden and the stone and gravel garden are spaces of communion with a constructed landscape, which, like the painting, propitiates an experience of looking that introduces us to the stillness and latency of time.
