The Artezanos Universal Pan is a Patented Pan for a Barrel Tile Roof System. Artezanos currently produces aluminum and galvalume pans. They are simply set in adhesive parallel to each other and provide the base where the natural barrel roof tile is installed. The perimeters use a clay pan starter tile to preserve the authentic look of the job. This method increases the performance of the roof and cuts costs, weight and labor by half!
The starter pan tile used on this particular job is a Artezanos Handmade Italiano Roof Tile. This creates the visual image along the perimeter of an authentic “tegole or embrice� flat Roman pan tile without committing the entire pan tile installation to such an expensive material. Here we only use such tile where you can actually see them!
This view was photographed only 10 days after the original installation. The metal pans assimilate into the installation so well it becomes very difficult to determine that one has made the switch to save more than 50% of the weight and installation costs. The system is ideal for historical preservation as the pan is the (unseen) common denominator in all Barrel Roof Tile Systems around the World.
