Bari J. was born and raised in Chicago, but decided to move to Scottsdale, Arizona with her daughters, Anna and Emily, and her husband Kevin to stay closer to her family. Bari has been passionate about design for as long as she can remember. As a child, her mother would paint and craft, so it was only a natural progression that she would inherit her love of crafting. She began crafting and creating jewelry, but when she first learned to sew she
knew she had found her passion. Her style is rather eclectic, and has grown over the years into what you see today. While she loves vintage and soft designs, she is constantly drawn to color and bold prints which are very modern, as well as mixing the two for surprising combinations. The world around her inspires her, she looks at photos and imagine faraway places. She sees a color and that inspires a whole collection, she’s a true color junkie.

Since childhood Amy has dabbled in drawing, painting and writing, but it wasn’t until her early 30’s that shebought her first sewing machine and really began to bloom. She taught herself to sew, learning new techniques as she went along, while embracing the amazing global online creative community that has inspired, motivated and encouraged her every step of the way. She loves
simple designs and lots of neutrals with happy splashes of color. Designing fabric is an unexpected dream come true and she’s loving the way that it’s bringing her back to that happy simple love of pen and paper… of free flowing expression printed onto fabric that can then be cut up and sewn back together to create things for people she loves.

Mathew Boudreaux of Mister Domestic learned to sew as a kid, but never really got into it until he had his daughter Helena. When creating something visual, Mathew’s creative journey begins in his mind filled with countless ideas and life changing experiences. Those concepts are executed the moment ideas hit by creating two dimensional patterns. His concepts are further developed through the exploration of pictures
he has captured and mood boards. The final idealization of a collection is then taken to illustrator. From this point on, Mathew uses an arsenal of skills that he’s gained from being immersed in the sewing industry to create relatable designs for sewists of all ages. He encourages makers to dive right into their ideas, avoid over thinking, and to focus on logistics once the work is executed to fulfill an exciting creative journey.

Pat’s passion for sewing materialized at the age of 9, when she sat down at her mother’s sewing machine for the first time. At the age of 13, she joined a sewing school in Buenos Aires, learning everything about fabrics, dressmaking, and patterns. She fell in love with quilting, sewing triangles and squares together, eventually teaching herself everything that could be achieved using traditional quilting techniques. Throughout
the years, her taste started evolving and she began to cross the bridge towards art quilts. First, she started with landscapes and with time her style became more abstract. She had a hard time finding color variations in batiks and that’s when she decided to paint her own fabrics. She began to see that quilters loved them, and not too long after that, Pat founded Art Gallery Fabrics.

Maureen Cracknell lives in small town Potter Country, Pennsylvania. She is a mother, wife, blogger, quilter, and lover of all things creative and handmade. Growing up, drawing was her passion, and once she learned how to sew, she would dream every day about having her own fabric collection. She started sewing and blogging at Maureen Cracknell Handmade; a simple, positive, and creative
blog where she loves to share her projects, fabric stashes, sewing, and special family moments. She’s been a proud member of several fabric manufacturer design teams throughout the years, including Art Gallery Fabric’s popular Fat Quarter Gang, Most of her fabric ideas come from sketches she draws of the beautiful area that she lives in. She is incredibly grateful for each of the opportunities that have led her where to where she is today!

ENERGY
The “more-is-more� attitude is strong throughout all of 2018, with an increasing amount of designers eschewing minimalism for eclectic eccentricity. The easiest interpretation is via print against print mash-ups. Saturated colors are used in offbeat pairings such as citrus yellow, navy and crimson, or in clashing hues of coral and emerald. These impactful combinations are charged with energetic yet familiar appeal.
