GAYLE LORAINE ELIZABETH CHAPPELL

I have always been a dreamer and a creative. When I was young, I was drawing on the walls of our home (which didn’t go over well with my parents), on homework, and any paper I could get my hands on.

When my creative side merged with quilting was in 2015 when a friend brought me to the International Quilt Market, or rather I invited myself to tag along. I was blown away. It turns out quilting is cool.

At that same time my friend taught me to quilt and I jumped into quilting without looking back. That’s when Quilters Candy was born. I have been writing quilt patterns and buying my favorite fabrics for years. It’s a dream to now see all my crazy drawing habits turned into something beautiful that can last for years.

The Upcycled Patchy Jeans

We all have a pair of jeans that despite being years old and having multiple holes, we REFUSE to give up. Try giving them a new life by adding these adorable patches to them. They’re very easy to make, just make a couple of dresden or hexie blocks with your favorite AGF fabrics and sew them onto your selected pair of jeans. To elevate your jeans even further, try adding cute embroidery hand stitches along the blocks!
