“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” -Walt Disney Caroline currently resides with her husband and their puppy in Fort Worth, TX. In her free time, Caroline loves to travel, walk her pup and create adventures in her everyday life. She grew up in the piney woods of East Texas where a sewing machine was the furthest thing from her mind. She loved being outdoors and most evenings you could find her riding her bike through the neighborhood. She went off to Texas A&M in search of a business degree, but what she found was a husband and a total disinterest in the corporate world. The Christmas after she turned 20 Caroline received a sewing machine as a gift. Her sewing machine sat on a shelf for the better part of two years, until one day she decided to figure out how to work it. She watched YouTube videos, read blogs, and went through a lot of scrap fabrics before she found where to put the bobbin, how to thread the machine, and how to set the tension straight! Since then, she’s found her passion in sewing and designing women’s garments. Caroline defines her style an ever-evolving mix of classic feminine romance and modern trends. Seeing a pile of fabric transform into something beautiful to dress herself amazes her every time.
Patternmaker and a blogger, Sew Caroline brings bright, vivid and cheerful designs.

“DESIGNING IS A LOT OF FUN”
bright something in their life, right? BUT, to get specific, I really see kids clothes, some adult clothes, pillows, quilts, a picnic set, and wall art.
If you had to choose a favorite print, which one would it be and why? Let’s talk all about your new collection Here Comes the Fun. How did you gather inspiration This is hard! This is like trying to choose a favorite child, you know? BUT, I am kind of obsessed for your fourth collection? AH! Gathering inspiration is one of my favorite with the simplicity of the Corollas Ashen - I parts of beginning to design a collection. I am never thought I would think of this print as my favorite, but I’ve really been drawn to it as I’ve always gathering inspiration. I snap photos of started making things with this collection. A things I see out and about such as walls, patvery close second would definitely be Bloom terns, floor designs. Random things that most people just walk by! I also take screenshots of Montage Light. things I see on Pinterest and Instagram, and sometimes I just get out my markers and doo- Which print was the most fun to make and dle. I keep all of my “inspiration” in a folder on why? The HAPPY print was really simple, but REALLY my phone for easy access. When it was time to design Here Comes the Fun, I had a load of fun to make. I got to write out the word “happy” over and over again. How could that not inspiration to use. Designing is a lot of fun! make you smile? Another fun print to design was Bloom Montage - I loved how this one This collection is so vibrant and fun! What do you envision being made with your collection? turned out! I am a believer that ANYTHING can be made The “Tunes Shine” print is filled with popular from this collection… who doesn’t want a
combos that can work! Many of your prints are very painterly. Were you influenced by any paintings or artwork while designing your collection? I was heavily influenced by Street Art for Here Comes the Fun. I have an obsession with really cool walls and love following people on Instagram who visit these said walls in their own towns. Unfortunately, Fort Worth isn’t brimming with vibrant and colorful walls, but I loved being influenced by these walls from all over the country/world.
song titles. Do you have a special connection with the songs you chose? YES! Of course I do! I Am a sucker for “happy songs” to brighten my mood.. So I have a “happy songs” playlist on Spotify. I listened to this playlist on repeat while designing Here Comes the Fun! “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne is the song David and I danced to at our wedding reception. “I’ve Got Sunshine” comes from My Girl by the Temptations and is a song that reminds me of my dad. “You Make Lovin’ You Easy” is a newer song by the Zac Brown Band and funny enough, makes me think about my daughter - she is the easiest child to love! So yes, all of these songs have really special places in my heart! What are some of your favorite print combinations from this collection? A few of my favorite combos are: Happy Whisper + Improv Strokes Berry; Street Art Moon, Corollas Tangerine + Sprayed Doodles Noir; Tripixels Soft + Happy Cheer - I think this collection plays really well together. If you’re not afraid of mixing prints, there are SO MANY
What are some projects you’ve made for your baby girl Tinsley with Here Comes the Fun? OH I can’t wait for her to wear the outfits I’ve sewn for her with Here Comes the Fun! I am obsessed with Simple Life Patterns and have sewn several things from their collection for Tinsley. My favorite two outfits are the Baby Ayda sewn in Corollas Ashen paired with the Sarah Ann Leggings sewn in Across Sparks Black knit AND the Baby Taylor Top sewn in Improv Strokes Berry paired with the Sarah Ann Leggings with the bow cuff sewn in Happy Whisper knit. Since you are also known for your garment patterns, what would be the ideal wardrobe made with Here Comes the Fun? I made a pair of Hudson Joggers in the Corollas Ashen knit and I have worn them at least once a week since sewing them - the best! I also made a maxi length maternity dress for my best friend using a hack on my Out and About Dress pattern out of the Bloom Montage Light knit and it looks STUNNING on her! It was exactly what I pictured when designing the dress hack and the fabric - the perfect pair! I also sewed a San Francisco Swing dress out of Tripixels Loud knit and it is gorgeous - the colors are perfect for that style dress. What was your thought process when naming this collection? I wanted something unique and catchy .. and the fact that it was a play on words really helped it to stick! :)
