Üniversitemiz, 1982 yılında Van Gölü kıyısında kurulmuş olan kampüsünde, eğitim ve öğretim faaliyetlerine başlamıştır. 36 yıldır Türkiye ve komşu ülkelere hizmet vermenin gururunu yaşayan Van Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi, 750 hektar arazi üzerine kurulu kampüsünde, 35 bina ve 351 bin 832 m2 kapalı alanıyla günümüz modern üniversite anlayışının en güzel sergilendiği mekânlardan biri olmuştur.

Our university has started its education and training activities in 1982 on the campus established on the coast of Lake Van. Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, proud of serving Turkey and neighbouring countries for 36 years, is one of the most beautiful examples of modern university concept with its 35 buildings and 351.832 m2 closed area on its 750 hectares on the campus.

Van kent merkezine 10 km uzaklıkta bulunan kampüse, günün her anında ulaşım otobüs ve minibüslerle düzenli olarak gerçekleştirilmektedir.

The campus, which is 10 km away from the city center, is accessed regularly by buses and minibuses.

Turizm ve Otel İşletmeciliği, Beden Eğitimi ve Spor, Yabancı Diller, Sağlık Hizmetleri, İlahiyat ve Meslek branşlarında eğitimini sürdüren 13 yüksekokul ile 45 eğitim ve uygulama merkeziyle Van Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi, yaptığı araştırmalar ve hazırladığı raporlarla ülke literatürüne önemli katkılar sağlamaktadır. 45 Araştırma ve uygulama merkezi bulunan Üniversitemizde bazı merkezler oldukça popülerdir. Bunlardan biri de endemik bir tür olan Van Kedisi için kurulan araştırma ve uygulama merkezidir. Van Kedisinin neslini devam ettirmesi için, var olan genleri korumayı ve sağlıklı biçimde geleceğe taşımayı amaçlayan merkez, bu konuda bilimsel çalışmalar yapmakta, çözümler üretmekte ve yeni stratejiler geliştirmektedir. Üniversitemize yerleşen öğrencilerimizin yüzde seksenine, iki ve dört kişilik şekilde dizayn edilmiş konforlu odalarda yurt imkânı ve yaşam alanı sağlanmaktadır. Öğretim üyeleri, öğrencileri ve diğer bileşenleriyle Van Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi, Türkiye’nin ve içinde bulunduğu Bölgenin geleceğini inşa etmede iyilik, hakikat, bilgi, dostluk ve kardeşliği bugün ve gelecekte çoğaltmaya devam edecektir.

The faculty of Dentistry provides its students top level health services as well as providing practical training using the latest technology. While the Faculties of Letters, Pharmacy, Education, Science, Fine Arts, Economics and Administrative Sciences, Theology, Engineering and Erciş School of Business contribute significantly to the educational needs of the country, faculties of Veterinary, Aquaculture and Agriculture established taking the needs of the region into account continue to contribute to the economic development of local people. Van Yüzüncü Yıl Research and Application Farm carrying modern agriculture and the developments in the world to the region contributes to make agriculture and livestock activities more qualified and to reach a level that can compete with the world. It is located in Lake Van Basin and the studies relating to a portion of endemic and hundreds of varieties of mushrooms are shared by the leading scientists in Turkey and in the world. Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, with its 13 colleges and 45 education and practice centres providing education in the fields of Tourism and Hotel Management, Physical Education and Sports, Foreign Languages, Health Services, Theology and Profession provides important contributions to the sources of the country with its researches and reports. Our university has 45 research and application centres some of which are very popular. One of them is the research and application center for Van Cat, which is an endemic species. The center, which aims to preserve the existing genes and carry them to the future in a healthy way, is conducting scientific studies, developing solutions and developing new strategies. Dormitory facilities and living spaces in comfortable rooms designed for two and four people are provided for eighty percent of the students accommodating in our university. Today and tomorrow, Van Yüzüncü Yıl University will continue to increase the favour, truth, knowledge, friendship, and brotherhood with the faculty members, students and other components, constructing the future of its region and Turkey.

Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi, öğrencilerine en son teknolojiyi kullanarak uygulamalı eğitim vermenin yanında hastalara üst düzey sağlık hizmeti vermektedir. Edebiyat, Eczacılık, Eğitim, Fen, Güzel Sanatlar, İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler, İlahiyat, Mühendislik Mimarlık Fakülteleri ve Erciş İşletme Fakültesi, ülkenin eğitim ihtiyacına önemli ölçüde katkı sağlarken bölgenin ihtiyaçları dikkate alınarak kurulan Veterinerlik, Su Ürünleri ve Ziraat Fakülteleri eğitim faaliyetlerinin yanı sıra yöre insanının iktisadi gelişimine de katkıda bulunmaya devam etmektedir. Modern tarımı ve dünyadaki gelişmeleri Bölgeye taşıyarak kurulan Van Yüzüncü Yıl Araştırma ve Uygulama Çiftliği, tarım ve hayvancılık faaliyetlerinin daha nitelikli yapılabilmesine ve dünyayla rekabet edebilecek bir seviyeye gelmesine katkıda bulunmaktadır. Van Gölü Havzasında bulunan ve bir kısmı endemik olan yüzlerce ve mantar çeşidine ilişkin yapılan çalışmalar Türkiye ve Dünyanın önde gelen bilim insanlarıyla paylaşılmaktadır.

TARİHÇE-TANITIM HISTORY-Introductıon

Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin doğusuna bir üniversite kurulmasına ilişkin ilk düşünce, her zaman olduğu gibi ileri görüşü ve doğru kararları ile tüm insanlığın hayranlığını kazanmış olan ulu önderimiz Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’e aittir.

Atatürk’ün isteği doğrultusunda İstanbul ve Ankara Üniversitelerinden sonra Türkiye’nin üçüncü üniversitesi olarak Van’da kurulması düşünülen Şark Üniversitesi, 20 Temmuz 1982 tarihinde “Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi” adıyla kurulmuştur. Üniversitemiz kendisine bağlı çevre illerdeki fakülteleri, meslek yüksekokullarını ve yetişmiş insan kaynağını bölgemizde kurulan yeni üniversitelere devrederek, başka üniversitelerin kurulmasına aracılık eden kurucu üniversiteler arasındaki yerini almıştır. Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi, modern eğitim binaları, sayısı her gün artan yeni teknoloji ile donatılmış eğitim - araştırma laboratuvarları, öğrenci yurtları ve sosyal tesislerinin yanı sıra çağdaş eğitim kadrosu ile kaliteli bir eğitim sunmanın gururunu yaşamaktadır. Türkiye’nin doğusunda bilim ve aydınlanmanın merkezi olma özelliğiyle öne çıkan üniversitemiz, her yönüyle keşfedilmeyi bekleyen doğa harikası bir bölgededir. The first idea of establishing a university in the eastern part of Turkish Republic belongs to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, our great leader who gains the admiration of all mankind with his foresight and right decisions. A University of East, planned to be built in Van as the third university of Turkey after İstanbul University and Ankara University upon Ataturk’s request, was established on 20th July 1982 under the title of “Yüzüncü Yıl University”. Transferring its faculties, vocational high schools and trained human resources in the surrounding cities to the new universities established in our region, our university has taken its place among the founding universities by playing an active role in the establishment of other universities. Yüzüncü Yıl University is proud of providing a quality education with a modern teaching staff besides its modern education buildings, increasing numbers of education- research laboratories which are equipped with new technology, student dormitories and social facilities. Our university which distinguishes itself with its character of being the centre of science and enlightenment in the east of Turkey, is in a wonderful region waiting to be discovered in all its aspects. We will be delighted to see you with us in the brightness of the sun, the blue of the lake, the white of hope, the light of science and the hospitality of our people. Turkish Teaching Application and Research Center Directorate

Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi Türkçe Öğretim Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi, kurulduğu 2012 yılından buyana komşu ülkeler başta olmak üzere birçok ülkeden üniversitemize gelerek eğitim ve öğretime devam eden lisans ve lisansüstü öğrencilerine Türkçe öğretmeyi amaç edinen bir merkezdir. Merkezimiz bünyesinde açılan Türkçe kurslarında yabancı öğrenciler hem üniversitemizde eğitimlerini devam ettirebilmek ve hem de bu süre zarfında yaşadıkları alanda sosyal ilişkilerini geliştirmek için Türkçeyi öğrenmektedirler. Üniversitemizde eğitimlerini tamamlayarak ülkelerine dönen bu öğrenciler vasıtasıyla da anadilimiz, dünyanın pek çok ülkesinde YYÜ TÖMER adıyla anılmaktadır. Üniversitemize farklı ülkelerden gelen yabancı öğrenci sayısı her geçen yıl artmaktadır ve şu anda 25 ülkeden yüzlerce öğrenci,üniversitemizde eğitimlerine devam etmektedir

Turkish Teaching Application and Research Center Directorate Yüzüncü Yıl University Turkish Teaching Application and Research Center is a center which aims to teach Turkish to undergraduate and graduate students who come to our university from many countries, especially from neighboring countries since 2012, when it was founded. In the Turkish courses offered by our center, foreign students learn Turkish in order to continue their education in our university and to improve their social relations in the area they live in during this time. Our native language is also called YYÜ TÖMER in many countries of the world by means of these students who have returned to their country by completing their education in our university. The number of foreign students coming from different countries to our university is increasing every year and currently hundreds of students from 25 countries are continuing their education at our university.

Van Kedisi Araştırma ve Uygulama Merkezi Müdürlüğü Van kedisi Araştırma ve Uygulama Merkezi Müdürlüğü, anavatanı Van yöresi olan ve 1969 yılında saf kan kedi ırkı olarak kabul edilen Van kedisi ile ilgili; neslin korunması, çoğaltılması ve tanıtılması amacıyla araştırmalar yapan önemli bir birimdir. Bünyesinde dünyanın en güzel ve en sevimli kedilerini barındıran merkezimiz, yeni havuzuyla birlikte Van Kedi Villası olarak yerli ve yabancı turistlerin en çok uğradıkları bir mekan olarak hizmet vermektedir.

Van Cat Research and Application Center Directorate Van Cat Research and Application Center Directorate Van Cat Research and Application Center Directorate is an important unit that conducts researches for the purpose of conservation, reproduction and promotion of the generation of Van Cat which is unique to Van region and considered as pure blood cat breed in 1969. Our center, which hosts the most beautiful and lovable cats of the world, serves as the most important place for domestic and foreign tourists as Van Cat Villa with its new pool.

Turkish Handicraft Research and Application Center Directorate

Bir müze görünümündeki teşhir salonları ile dikkat çekmekte olan Türk El Sanatları Araştırma ve Uygulama Merkezinin en önemli özelliği, Hakkâri-Van yörelerine ait geleneksel özellik taşıyan zengin bir dokuma arşivine sahip olması ve aktif atölyeleri ile tiftik ve kilim dokumayı sürdürmesidir. Anadolu’nun binlerce yıllık tarihinden gelen çeşitli uygarlıkların kültür mirasıyla, kendi öz değerlerini birleştirerek zengin bir mozaik oluşturan merkez, tiftik ve kilim dokumasının tanıtımının yapılmasına da katkıda bulunmakta, yerli ve yabancı turistlerin ilgisini çekmektedir.

Turkish Handicraft Research and Application Center Directorate The most important feature of the Turkish Handicraft Research and Application Center, which draws attention with its exhibition halls, is the fact that it has a rich weaving archive with traditional characteristics of the Hakkari-Van regions and it continues to weave lint and kilim with its active workshops. It has contributed to the promotion of the center, mohair and carpet weaving which, together with the cultural heritage of the various civilizations of Anatolia, combined its cultural values and its own values, has attracted the attention of local and foreign tourists.

Su Sporları Eğitim Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi Müdürlüğü Bölgemizde tek Su Sporları Eğitim Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezimiz; Van Gölü’nün en güzel sahilinde hizmet vermektedir. Bölge insanımız, üniversite mensuplarımız, öğrencilerimiz için Yelken, Rüzgâr Sörfü, Durgun Su Kanosu ve Deniz Kanosu imkanlarını sağlamaktadır. Ulusal ve uluslararası yarışlar düzenlemek için yeterli alt yapısı, rekratif amaçlı turlar, ulusal ve uluslararası plaj futbolu, plaj voleybolu ve daha farklı etkinlikleriyle su sporları için çok cazip avantajlar sunmaktadır.

Directorate of Water Sports Training Application and Research Center As the only Water Sports Training Application and Research Center in the region, it serves on the most beautiful coast of Lake Van. It provides sailing, wind surfing, still water canoe and sea kayaking opportunities for our people, university members, students. With its infrastructure to organize national and international races, recreational tours, national and international beach football, beach volleyball and other activities, it offers very attractive advantages for water sports.

İnci Kefali Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi Müdürlüğü

Pearl Mullet Application and Research Center Directorate

Merkezimiz, Van Gölü Havzasında yaşayan tek tür olan İnci Kefalinin devamlılığının sağlanması, üreme döneminde gerekli koruma önlemlerinin alınması işlemlerini yürütmektedir. Araştırma, inceleme yapılması ve yapılmakta olan bu gibi çalışmaların desteklenmesi; proje hazırlama yanında, danışmanlık hizmetleri sunulması, özellikle üreme döneminde İnci Kefali’nin tanıtımını sağlayacak faaliyetler düzenlenmesi hususlarında da çalışmalar yapılmaktadır.

Our center is responsible for the continuation of the only species living in the Lake Van Basin and the necessary protection measures during the breeding period. Research, review and support of such work in progress are also carried out in order to provide consultancy services, in particular to organize activities to promote Pearl Mullet during the reproduction period in addition to project preparation.

Merkez Müdürlüğümüz, yürüttüğü araştırmalar sonucu elde ettiği bilgiyi yöre arıcıları ile paylaşmakta ve bünyesinde üretim yaparak örnek olmaktadır. Bilginin ve arı yetiştirilme yönteminin geliştirilerek bunların hem kendi bünyesi ile hem de yöre arıcıları ile paylaşmak diğer önemli misyonudur.

Apiculture Research and Application Center Directorate The Central Directorate, which carries out the main objectives of serving the beekeeping in the country and region carries out its activities in this direction. Our Center Directorate shares the information gathered by the researches with the local beekeepers and sets an example by producing within its structure. Yaban Hayvanlarını Koruma ve Rehabilitasyon Merkezi Müdürlüğü Yaban hayvanlarını koruma ve iyileştirme amacıyla kurulan merkezimiz, konuyla ilgili araştırmalar yapan bilim insanlarımız için de birçok imkân sunmaktadır. Tekrar doğal yaşama dönemeyecek yaban hayvanları için doğal yaşama uygun alanlar oluşturan Merkezimizde 20 farklı türde doğaya dönemeyecek yaban hayvanı konaklamaktadır. Kurulduğu 2012 yılından itibaren birçok faaliyete imza atan Merkezimiz; Erçek Gölü kıyısına kurulan Seyyar Klinik ve diğer önlemleriyle Van ve çevre (Hakkâri, Bitlis, Ağrı, Muş Batman) illerden gelen birçok yaban hayvanının tedavi ve rehabilitasyonunu yaparak, tekrar doğal hayata kazandırmıştır.

Directorate of Wild Animals Protection and Rehabilitation Center Our Center, which was established for the purpose of protection and improvement of wild animals, also offers many opportunities for our scientists who conduct research on the subject. Our Center constitutes areas suitable for natural life for 20 different kinds of wild animals that cannot return to natural life. Our center has been carrying out many activities since its establishment in 2012, and with the help of Mobile Clinic and other measures established on the shore of Lake Erçek, the treatment and rehabilitation of many wild animals from the province of Van and the surrounding provinces (Hakkâri, Bitlis, Ağrı, Muş, Batman) were made and they have been brought back to the natural life.
