Vredestein launches all-season UHP tire

The new Vredestein Hypertrac all-season ultra-high performance tire “demonstrates Vredestein’s rapid portfolio growth and kicks off a new product cadence that will continue through 2020,” according to company officials. The tire, which is available in 38 sizes, provides “marketleading wet performance” thanks to its contour, which is designed for dynamic pressure distribution and an optimized footprint, as well as faster water evacuation due to its high-void tread pattern and optimized groove positions. The Hypertrac also boasts a breakthrough compound that employs “unique resins that help deliver the optimal performance drivers seek from tires in this category,” a polymer blend ratio that has been tuned for excellent wet grip, and other features.

TGI expands Cosmo offering

Tire Group International LLC (TGI) has added three lines to its Cosmo brand lineup. The Cosmo El Jefe HT is a premium crossover/ SUV tire designed for comfort. It is available in 15 sizes. The Cosmo El Tigre AT all-weather tire has earned 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake certification and is available in 22 sizes. The Cosmo TigerTail is a European-inspired tire for crossover and SUV applications. All three products feature Cosmo’s Ultimate Tire Technology, which includes a bead reinforcement system, “directed super silica compounding,” and more, according to TGI officials.

NAMA introduces UHP tire

NAMA Tires Inc. is bringing its Maxmach ultra-high performance tire to the United States market in 20 sizes. The tire, which will fit wheels from 17 inches to 24 inches in diameter, is manufactured in Vietnam and will be available by container shipments. It features three wide ribs for enhanced steering precision and mileage; sharp, lateral sipes and kerfs for optimized performance in wet conditions; an asymmetric tread design with a strong outside shoulder for steering stability; and more.

Hankook extends Kinergy sizes

Hankook Tire America Corp. has announced size extensions for two consumer tires, the Kinergy PT (H737) and the Kinergy ST (H735). Production of the new sizes is underway at Hankook’s consumer tire plant in the United States. The Kinergy PT (H737) gains 32 sizes, covering most of the grand touring and high-diameter segment, while the Kinergy ST (H735) gains 30 sizes. “By offering over 50 news sizes across our Kinergy line, consumers will have more options than ever when it comes to finding a safe, comfortable and fuel-efficient tire to meet their daily driving needs,” says Peter Jung, senior vice president and chief operating officer, Hankook.

The Avalanche TT is the latest addition to the Hercules winter tire line and will be available in 23 sizes, ranging from 16 to 22 inches. Made in the United States, the studdable tire — which targets heavy-duty pickup trucks, large SUVs and cargo vans — features Snow Grip Technology, which boasts proprietary design features “that work together to get drivers through winter’s extreme conditions,” according to Hercules officials. The tire also contains Snow Grabber Grooves, which help trap and hold snow, delivering enhanced traction; center rib tie bars; thin-gauge, full-depth siping for optimized biting edges; and other features. The Avalanche TT has earned 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake certification.

Maxam unveils port tires

Maxam Tire North America Inc. has unveiled two port tires, the MS307 PORTXTRA IND-3 and the MS407 PORTXTRA IND-4, both of which have been designed to “meet the heavy load requirements in port and terminal applications,” according to company officials. The MS307 PORTEXTRA IND-3 features an all-steel tread and targets port applications “that run heavy loads and long cycle times.” The MS407 PORTXTRA IND-4 contains a deep, stabilized tread that provides high levels of traction, reduced heat build-up and long tread life.
