Phillips Pottery My earliest memories of clay come from playing with the beautiful blue clay found on our farm in south eastern Ontario. Years later, in 1986, I took my first pottery class with a guild in Beaumont Alberta and was hooked! When we moved to Airdrie Alberta. I was fortunate enough to have Greg and Lori McRitchie of Mudslide Stoneware as neighbors. Greg's pots are still my standard for "quality control". In 1992 our family moved to the Parksville and Nanoose Bay area on Vancouver Island. My work has since progressed and diversified from strictly functional pottery, to include more creative pieces fired in Raku, Tozan, electric, gas, and wood-fired kilns. All pieces are individually hand thrown on a Shimpo wheel or hand built from slabs and extrusions. Consistent quality workmanship is found in the glazes and pieces for those that like to collect completed sets. Currently I am a member of the Nanaimo Potters Guild, past-president of the Arrowsmith Potters Guild located at the Parksville Train station. My work can be found at "Pyromania Pottery", a store located behind the Coombs Country Market in Coombs B.C. just outside of Parksville, Vancouver Island, B.C.

Jennifers Artwork

By Jennifer Scott I grew up in Maple Ridge BC, where my artistic ideas were nurtured from a young age. I cannot remember a time when I was not doodling on my school work, or coloring outside the lines. In 2007, I took the plunge and moved across the strait to study art. I attended Vancouver Island University and completed my Visual Arts Diploma. My eyes were opened to new techniques and ways to approach art in general. Being inspired by the world I surround myself in, my work has developed into something very organic and filled with color. I look forward to seeing where my work progresses, as I continue on in my own journey.

Island Nymphs

Even though Kris Walker's education is in graphic design and photography, she has a passion for three dimensional art. As a child, she began working in clay, alongside her mom and the love of sculpting never left. Island Nymphs are a celebration of the simple things in life. Dancing, music , reading a book or playing on a beach. "My inspiration comes from my family and friends and this beautiful island". http://islandnymphs.shawwebspace.ca/pages/view/ island_nymphs_1/

ROY HANCLIFF PHOTOGRAPHY Roy Hancliff has become a world renowned in flight bird photographer, you can find his work in art galleries, wildlife magazine covers, and on the Internet. Below is a little bit about Roy in his own words. I was born in Oxford England. My first real camera was Nikon F2S with photomic head, longer ago than I care to remember. I moved to Spain in 1985 with my wife Sharon for a better climate and simpler life. Photography took a back seat as we carved out a living. We finally moved to Canada in 2003, settling in Salmon Arm, British Columbia. I now had the time to dedicate to my passion of photography that had been put on hold for so long. I chose to concentrate on Birds in flight as they have always intrigued me. I wanted to capture the beauty of nature that is not normally visible to the naked eye. Even Birds that we consider to be common and uninteresting come into their own element when wings are frozen in mid flight. I often find myself sitting in a hide at temperatures of -15 C trying to capture that all important shot. Or in the case of the Hummingbirds +35 C with sweat running down the backs of my legs but I would not have it any other way. I study their flight patterns and feeding habits for hours to determine where they will come into the frame, every bird has a completely different approach as they feed. I think it would be fair to say that whatever the shot it is calculated and taken in my mind before I even begin. I hope that you enjoy my site and it has given you a different perspective into Bird and Insect in flight photography. "This has given me the opportunity to challenge myself further and branch out into some Seascape photography".

Mike Rebar Stone Sculpting www.bigrockbc.com Mike started sculpting in sand stone and cement in 2000 and was introduced to stone carving in 2001 by fellow sculptor Ian Howie. He sculpts local granite and marble he harvests from various sites on Vancouver and Quadra Islands off the west coast of British Columbia. His sculptures and garden art are held in private collections all over North America. Mike sees the integral form of each piece inside the stone, then works with both traditional hand tools, carbide chisels and diamond blades until his vision emerges. Fine details are achieved with hand files followed by wet and dry sanding to complete the process. He creates free form and realistic designs that continue to evolve as the stone is worked. His pieces range from 6 inches to 6 feet high and reflect a west coast theme. The body of his work embraces natural themes emulated in powerful freeform designs, birds, seals and Orcas. Visitors are always welcome at Mike’s studio and gallery located at his home just off of highway 19A north of Parksville BC.

Willow Shack Studio By Ellen Atkinson

Willow Shack, the up-cycle Studio To say that we are a product of our environment is too true. I was born in Williams Lake, B.C. and grew up on a hunting lodge in the interior of B.C. My dad, a hunter, was a man of few words but with a true talent for creating and improvising. I would watch him for hours while he worked in his saddle shed, a memory that I still hold dear. My mother, who would sew our clothes, can our food, cook and clean (without electricity or running water) and still find time to read aloud to my father every afternoon. Both unknowingly taught me to use what you have, make what you need and take time for family. Who doesn’t need jewelry!! After making jewelry for over 40 year, in 2006 I started making jewelry from vintage and antique flatware. I was then inspired to make all my jewelry from reclaimed materials. I added old metal buttons, silver/brass and copper trays, old keys, vintage tins and bullet caps to my line. Along with a few Silver Smith classes and lot of practice, I have found my true passion and am living my dream! Vancouver Sea Salt Company

If you like sandy toes, sea salty breaths and low tides then you’ve come to the right shop. All of my inspiration comes from the ocean shores. Everything in my shop has a touch of the beach -even my milk bath has seaweed in it. I like to create pieces with natural things I find at anchor –beach combing (my second favorite thing). Dried seaweed, drift wood, sea shells, beach glass and beach rocks are all staples in my workshop/studio.

Patricia Spence & Maureen Hill I have been intrigued with creating with paint since early childhood when I would spend hours sitting up on my dresser with the big round mirror and painting my face over and over in all patterns and designs and constantly creating art. My childhood medium was simple watercolors and my face was my first canvas. Not surprising, portraits have become one of my great loves in my second childhood. Throughout the past thirty years, while working full time and raising my family, I was constantly enrolled in workshops and courses honing my artistic skills and knowledge of landscapes, seascapes and portraiture. I have painted with oils and acrylic and produced paintings using French dyes on silk and enjoyed the magic of the airbrush. Having recently ended my working career I have now entered the ‘refreshment years’ of my life where my passion to paint now has free reign. The artist in me has now stepped forward holding the reins of my life and I am excited to see what creative wonders I shall produce. Someone once said, that creativity is God’s gift to you…what you do with it is your gift to God. I honor that along with knowing that it truly is a greater reward to give than receive. Therefore, I do not paint objects, rather I focus on painting that which is loved by myself or others. My painting passion explodes when I work on a painting that I know will be personally cherished. No book, lesson or workshop has ever brought forward the creative passion that lies within me and that surfaces when I paint a picture of love for someone, be it a home, a person, a pet, a view. Watching their faces when presented with a painting of their love, is the greatest reward of all! I plan on spending the rest of my life simply enjoying, discovering, expanding and playing with the creative artist within me. She has now arrived.

Frankly Yours Unique Woodworking By Frank Armich Born on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Frank Armich from an early age developed a keen attraction to the inherent beauty of local woods. As a young apprentice in his father’s business of the production of burl wood furniture and clocks, Tidal Wave Manufacturing, Frank quickly acquired the skills necessary to work with wood. Today Frank creates by hand a wide line of artistic sculptures such as decorative trees, sculptured mirrors, wall pieces, bowls, driftwood pieces and furniture fashioned out of Bird’s Eye Maple, Red and Yellow Cedar, Fir as well as other local woods. Frank carefully hand carves and sands each piece with the intent to raise and illuminate the wood’s grain. Possessing an ability to visualize beauty in its raw state, he successfully brings to life a deep, earthy resonance – a resurfacing of the wood’s once magnificent glory. With a deep appreciation of the natural, surrounding landscape of the ParksvilleQualicum region, Frank also employs a variety of roots as a medium to create one-of-akind chairs, tables, lamps and beds. In addition to a unique woodworking business, Frank takes pride in the manufacturing of his handcrafted, silver-plated windchimes. Always interested in the re-invention of found items, his delightful creations hearken memories of an era gone by. Once seen and heard, these whimsical chimes remain unforgettable. Redroom Artglass Studio

Beautiful Fused artglass dishes, and handmade glass bead jewelry My work explores and documents my love of working with glass. I am addicted to it, never seem to get enough, and for me, glass has it all--colour, dimension, clarity, and reflection. My addiction has evolved to torching my own glass beads, and fabricating sterling silver, copper & brass components that I transform into one-of-a-kind jewellery pieces. Inspiration for my beads comes from the west coast landscape, specifically, the ocean at low tide, bright and vibrant flowers in the spring, and the contrasting and changing colours of the fall season. I have a combination of formal training in glass bead making and consider myself “self taught. My BA degree in history/art history has provided me with a vast understanding of significant art forms and styles that influence my work. I work from my home studio in Nanaimo, BC.

Affinity Stone Jewelry & Design By Debra Kasprick

At Affinity Stone Jewellery & Design, I strive to create beautiful, freeform gemstone pieces using a mix of metals and leather. My styles range from very dainty and feminine, to truly rustic, with an organic feel. My designs are very abstract and sculptural. I let each stone as I hold it, dictate the flow of the design, so the end result is a unique, one of a kind work of art to wear, every time. I love to work with my clients to create something unique and meaningful using stones they have hand picked from their travels, or special affinity stone combinations they have chosen for their birth sign. I look everywhere in art and architecture for inspiration and am obviously influenced by my life partner Dave, and the metal medium I am surrounded by! As my designs are always evolving, each year is an exciting and fresh experience in creativity!!! Debra

About the Artist: Making Raw Clay Into Functional And Artistic Forms...

I was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. I attended the University of Alberta (U of A) and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Biology. While studying at the U of A, I had the opportunity to spend four months studying at the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre on the west coast of Vancouver Island. That is where I developed an interest in marine biology and fell in love with the ocean. After graduation, I travelled throughout Southeast Asia for 6 months then returned to Vancouver Island where I took a job as a consultant marine biologist. I first became interested in pottery in my early 20’s and started collecting pieces for my own use. While completing my Master of Science degree at the University of British Columbia, I took my first pottery class and have been doing pottery ever since. The last five years have served to refine my work. In my spare time, I enjoy walking the beaches and spending time near the ocean. As a marine biologist, my creative inspiration comes from the sea. My business began with sales out of the trunk of my car and through word of mouth. I sold pieces to my co-workers their friends and family. For two consecutive years, I was asked to show and sell my pieces in the Christmas craft fair at the Pacific Biological Station (Fisheries and Oceans Canada) in Nanaimo. From there it has expanded and I now have pieces for sale at the Reflecting Spirit Gallery located in Tofino and Ucluelet. I have lived on the Island for the last 13 years and am currently living in the Comox Valley where I now have a small studio. I recently started selling my pottery at various arts and craft shows and at a couple of local galleries. Contact the artist for further information (debbiepaltzat@hotmail.com or at 250.218.6327).

One of a Kind organic gourd vessels, each hand carved and painted with leather dyes.

West Coast Gourds

J. LaFontaine's first interest in gourds was inspired in 1999. Influenced by styles such as Hopi art and Native designs through her 1/4 Iroquois heritage, she started to experiment with Leathers dyes, goldleafing, pyrography and handcarving each organic vessel, selling them in various high end restaurants within Calgary, AB. Making a move, she now resides on Vancouver Island in Canada's West Coast and has made award winning impacts with her work in gourds in various art shows, galleries and publications. A variety of J.LaFontaine's work can be located within Central Vancouver Island, highlighting Qualicum Beach and Nanaimo. This artist has attended the Alberta College of Art and Design in 1996, specializing in Silversmithing and Jewelry making, as well as Painting courses in figure drawing. Beachcomber Studio

I capture Vancouver Island's magic with my camera; seascapes and landscapes are my passion along with people and animal portraits. From 10 years old, I've had a camera in my hand and continued to grow working for newspapers and doing free-lance work. Working for a Florida newspaper doing a weekly column in the mid-80's, I was able to advance into photo-journalism turning out features on various locations. During the early 80's I wrote a recipe column for the "Arab News" in Riyadh, being the first American to do so. During my nine years with the U.S. Foreign Service I published many articles and photos in the Moscow Times along with the U.S. Army newspaper "Stars & Stripes." Right now, having just moved to Nanoose Bay, I look forward with great enthusiasm to continue my passion for photography as well as crafting whatever takes my fancy. Come see my workshop!

Photography by Randy Hall

Randy Hall is a Vancouver Island photographer specializing in nature photography, whether it is capturing natural settings such as seascapes or forest landscapes or the plants and animals that inhabit this part of British Columbia. After years of camping on the island and working in the forest industry, Randy gained a real appreciation for nature. He considers himself a landscape photographer first, but also an opportunistic wildlife photographer. “My photos are my interpretation of works by a true master… Mother Nature”. Randy has developed a style that shows enhanced colours and contrast. When many people think of contrast, they think colours and tones. There can also be contrast in content. An example of this can be seen in some of Randy’s early morning images of Parksville Bay. Towering or threatening clouds can instill the feeling of unrest, while the calm waters of the bay say serenity. “It’s this type of scene, and the incorporation of weather, that interests me the most”. Randy attributes much of his success to his friendship with local professional, Craig Carmichael and to the support of his wife, Cindy. It’s one thing to take photos and produce works of art, but it’s difficult to take that next step and get it out there for all to see. This is where your support team plays a critical role.

Cute But Stupid

by Amy Baxter

Amy Baxter, aka cute but stupid, has been using her camera to express her art for over 30 years. Although her images do not reflect a "cute but stupid" image, she uses this phrase because of her sense of humour and how the phrase has broken the ice in many ways. Amy's images are an expression of how she sees beauty. She uses a technique called texture layering which gives her images a painterly look. Her images have been described by admirers as "quiet elegance" and "still but alive".

Fiddlestick Pottery By Jackie Walker & Ruth Cook Fiddlestick Pottery started a few years ago with the unexpected receipt of a kiln. We both have gardens and decided to try making something for our own gardens, and to give away as Christmas gifts to family and friends. Requests soon arrived for more, and Fiddlestick Pottery went into production. Fiddlesticks can add interest to plants such as ferns, hostas and grasses, or can brighten up an empty spot in the garden. Ruth and Jackie

Beads of Joy By Wendy Maurer

www.beadsofjoy.com

Beads of Joy are hand-crafted glass beads made in my home studio. All my beads are kiln annealed to ensure they will last many lifetimes. The inspiration for these beads comes from the colors in my garden, the lush forests that surround our community and the ever changing ocean outside my windows. The form and texture of foliage, the light on the water, the lines of intersecting shadows, the hues of sunrises and sunsets, a drop of rain on a leaf - all create joy in my heart and make me happy. I hope you find my beads interesting and they make you feel good when you look at them. As a self-taught artist I am on a continuous learning adventure and I am blessed with time, energy and wonderful people to support me as I follow this adventure. Wendy Joy

R3: Reclaim - Re-Do - Repurposed

I enjoyed a successful career on Vancouver Island as an interior designer, one of my specialties was designing custom furniture. I left the Island for a great job opportunity as a Project Manager, but my passion for creativity and design took me back into the workshop where my creative juices can flow. The opportunity to repurpose used wood pallets intrigued me, and I began playing with making them into functional pieces with a rustic flair for both indoor and outdoor use. Here are some of my samples, I can customize for you as well. Rhonda Greggain

Patt Scrivener

The desire to create has always been my passion. I am fascinated by form, color and texture. I work experimentally and intuitively allowing my emotional responses to guide me. Using mixed mediums I layer, scratch, take away and rebuild as the painting evolves. I love contrasts which is evident in my work, rough and smooth, dull and shiny, textured and flat, vintage and modern. Like my personality, my work is spontaneous and complex. My hope is to make a connection with the viewer and cause them to experience some of the excitement and pleasure that I have enjoyed creating the piece.

Red Cod Forge Dave was an artist from an early age and began working with clay and drawing wildlife with pen and ink. The interest to heat steel in order to mold and ply it like clay became the focus of Dave's art. He built his first forge in 2002 and began his foray into the steel medium. Ever since, Dave has been continually practicing the ancient art of blacksmithing. Dave's hand forged work is mostly done with recycled steel. Through this medium, he incorporates marine themes with coastal wildlife to create abstract and freeform steel sculptures. Dave's works range from small one dimensional pieces to two or three dimensional sculptures, gates, railings, and functional art for the use in the home and garden.

Bryony Beads

Bryony Beads are created by Jane Bryony-Shaw who has been making beads for 14 years, using an oxygen and propane fired ‘torch’ to transform glass rods by melting them into beads, using the age-old Venetian lampworking process. Unique handmade beads are then threaded onto leather and bead wire to create colourful, one-of-a-kind jewellery items designed to bring joy and a sense of fun to the inner child of the wearer!

Leigh Buchanan

Art has always been a compelling element of my life in some form, from my early years in Ontario, to the beautiful shores of Vancouver Island. Visual arts school, workshop mentorship, experimentation, self-study and curiosity have provided the foundation for my practice. I create paintings and handmade prints of the people, life and landscape around me here on the West coast of Canada. I invite you to share in this experience and appreciation.

I have been in partnership with two Art Galleries in Nanaimo, “The Public Hanging” and “The Intersection Gallery” which I shared with my artist Father for five years. My work is displayed locally in private clinics, coffee shops and Art 10 Gallery at North Town Centre. Ron Stuart

I was born in Saskatchewan but moved to Calgary at a very early age. During High School I developed an interest in art and after graduating I attended SAIT, but only for 1 year. I painted some in oil at this time but I tried and preferred Acrylics. Unfortunately life got in the way and it would be years before I painted again. When I was 23 I moved to Victoria and for 10 years I lived there until I married, and at this time I moved to the US and I lived in Oregon for another 10 years before relocating to Banff, Alberta where I worked and dreamed about moving back to the Island. Finally at 65, I retired and a 30 year dream finally became a reality. I quickly picked up some paints, brushes and canvas and set to work painting the local scenery, some from my days in the Rockies. I am in love with the area around central Vancouver Island and along with my passion for landscaping my yard, socializing with a wonderful new group of friends I have also restored my desire to paint. I work exclusively with acrylics at the moment and try to have a showing as often as possible.

Ink on Ivory

by Michael Beseau

I work in pen and ink because the starkness of a black and white image appeals to me. It is simple: with a focus on the subject all of my concentration is on the image. It is dramatic: it provides opportunity for strong contrast and powerful vignette. Finally, it is a great challenge: it is an unforgiving medium. I work in graphite to stay sane.

Journey Beads

I started making glass beads just over five years ago when I took a class with Joanne Andrighetti. I had been collecting glass beads (such as Trollbeads; I hate to admit it, but I still do!) for a few years before that and I really wanted to create my own so decided I would look for a class to do just that. I absolutely love it!! Other creative endeavours of mine have come and gone but glass is here to stay! Currently I have a small studio set up in my garage in Ladner, and I work several times a month at Andrighetti Glass co-located with the Terminal City Glass Co-Op. I have taken classes with Damaris Oakley (redroom artglass studio in Nanaimo) and will continue taking classes with people that inspire me. I am a part-time student at UBC and a BA in Art History with a minor in Medieval studies; I am planning on incorporating some of my medieval studies and art forms into my beads. One of the wonders about working with glass is that you will never stop learning and being amazed. They are like gifts that are unveiled every time you take them out of the kiln. I hope that you enjoy them as much as I do!

Naked Sage

By Jess Freeman

As an artist my aim is to create beautiful, unique pieces that are as eco friendly as possible. The main mediums I work with are natural. Copper is my most used metal as I love the warmth it holds and light it captures. I also work with wood, wool, seeds and stones. I make each piece by hand including the shepherds hooks and hand pound all of my metal to create light capturing effects. My Inspiration comes from growing up on the West Coast as well as from my travels. My products range from earrings to necklaces, bracelets and rings.

Shane Wilson Sculpture Limited

Inspired by the North—the beauty and severity of its extremes—Canadian sculptor Shane Wilson breathes life into the discarded outer garments of arctic impermanence: antler, horn, ivory, tusk, bone; and fixes time in the most ancient of enduring alloys—bronze. His signature style—the cool logic of a mathematician warmed in the guiding hands of a poet—lives in the uneasy conversation between organic and non-organic abstraction. Wilson has taught the art of antler carving at Red Deer College, in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, and continues to share his craft with artists and collectors around the World.

D & S Coastal Designs

Birdhouses and plaques from driftwood as well as other items from things found on the local beaches, seaweed baskets, magnets, candles, shell picture frames etc. I also process my own animals hides, then stretch them and make them into drums. I paint on some of the drums as well. I also use the scrap pieces of hides and make them into rattles etc. I also quilt, sew and crochet different items that are functional.

Blackfish Pewter

My name is Marianne McDonald. I have been working with pewter for about 30 years. I learned my craft while working for Seagull Pewter, which was located in Nova Scotia. I was part of the Product Development department and as a carver, it was my job to create clay prototypes that were used to create new work. When we moved to BC, I could not find a job in my classification so I decided to create one and Blackfish Pewter was born. Jim joined me in this venture a few years later, & we have been supporting ourselves with the craft ever since. I enjoy working with pewter alloy. It has its strengths & weaknesses & it can be really frustrating when it doesn't behave the way it’s supposed to. This is especially true with the lead-free alloys that we use. When the process is successful, it makes up for all of the disappointments. We make our living by doing several things that involve Pewter. We wholesale to a number of gift shops, museums & the provincial & federal Governments. We do the farmer markets & the summer art shows & of course, we do the Christmas markets.

Helen Kilsby

I am inspired by the duality of nature. The yin and yang: the raw, rough, organic movement of the wild earth and its calming, flowing, abundance. Helen Kilsby creates work that reflects the shifting and ephemeral aspects of the natural world. Working in mixedmedia painting and printmaking, she builds multilayered, tactile, abstract paintings. Kilsby has had solo and group exhibitions across Canada. Her work can be found in both public and private collections. Born in the England, Helen Kilsby now lives in, B.C. Canada. She received her B.F.A. from The University of British Columbia Okanagan. Helen Kilsby also teaches painting and printing workshops .

Jessie Senecal Jewellery

All jewelry is handcrafted in sterling silver or sterling silver and copper. Organic material such as leaves, lichen and grasses are collected from areas around her home and dried and pressed. Organic materials and other found objects are then pressed into either silver or copper, imparting their textures into the metal. The textured metal is then used to make a single piece of jewelry. Each material can only be used once in this process making each piece unique. I will be selling earrings and pendants using this technique.

The Coombs Old Time Fiddlers

Old Time Fiddling is a music genre and has nothing to do with age as we have fiddlers from pre-school age to many in their 90’s. In fact the very best way to have the music we love live on after us is by involving youngsters. One of the best ways to get youngsters involved is in the school system. A good way to promote fiddling is by asking to hear more of it on either TV or radio. There is an app. called “cbcmusic” that is available through itunes. This is a free little app that works on either your computer, ipad or your smart phone. The app. features music genres of many different types from classical to hip hop. The CBC is receptive to hearing from people if they would like something added and I have asked them to include a fiddle stream – I got a response saying, they will if and when they get enough requests! If we want to hear more “Old Time Fiddle Music” then the best thing to do is be proactive. You can contact CBC and let your request be known at: Radio Music radiomusic@cbc.ca It doesn’t have to be long and complex a simple request for a fiddle music stream on “cbcmusic” would be all you need to do. Throughout the province the BCOTFA is comprised of 13 active branches. Most branches have weekly music jams; many hold monthly old time dances; some host annual fiddle contests; others feature jamborees; most host concerts featuring nationally recognized fiddle stars, and at least one branch hosts monthly Contra dances.

Marimba Jangano

"Marimba Jangano is a youth African music ensemble. Jangano consists of 9 marimba players, all between the age of 10 and 15. After forming in 2009, Jangano has been mentored and developed by the leadership of marimba instructors/ performers Jasmine and Fahlon Smith. Marimba Jangano plays traditional Zimbabwean music on traditional Zimbabwean marimbas (a large wooden xylophone). In the five years of playing together, Jangano has played at numerous events such as Kidfest, the 2010 Olympic Torch Relay, and the Maple Sugar Festival, just to name a few. Jangano has recently been focusing on expanding their repertoire, and flourishing as young performers. This energetic, joyful group has a rhythm that will keep you dancing!"

Westerly The duo is called Westerly, and it is Ramiah and I. Here is our bio with pictures to come in the next couple of weeks... "Westerly is the fusion of guitar, vocals, violin, viola, and mandolin played by two sisters, Fahlon and Ramiah, creating a harmony-rich sound. Ramiah, (guitar, percussion and vocals), from toddlerhood has enjoyed trying any instrument she could get her hands on. She started playing and performing marimba at the age of 6, and she now teaches marimba and performs in Marimba Jangano. Ramiah grew up singing harmonies with her sisters from the age of 3. She also has a zest for writing. Fahlon (violin, viola, mandolin, vocals) has an extensive background in music performance. Over the past 10 years, she has developed a career as a solo performer as a violinist, and plays marimba in bands in the Oceanside area. She has played in Orchestras and Symphonies and has performed in shows across North America. During the school year, she studies viola at the University of Victoria, and teaches music classes. An intoxicating blend of harmonies, rhythm, and fun, Westerly plays renditions of genres such as folk, roots, pop, country and classics with an emphasis on violin and fiddle, since Fahlon is an accomplished violinist. The sisters have an intensely genuine sisterly bond and the strength of that bond comes through in their music.lRamiah and Fahlon are both gifted singers and present an experience which is sure to steal your heart away."
