Being a feminine gay kid made me the odd one in an Irish Catholic household. My creative process is more problem solving. I let the image dictate and introduce themselves throughout the process. Each piece is an extension of who I am, and these faces have been my strength.

Warrior painting on canvas 100 cm x 120 cm x 4 cm 2022 awartlife.com @alexandrakunstwerkstatt
I express my creativity by painting, weaving, tufting, and upcycling. My paintings are made of different materials - canvas, wood, metal, or glass. I see things and have the need to change them, to embellish them, to make them unique.
I have always been fascinated by colors, especially by the power of their nuances by mixing them. Everything I paint refers to nature, that is definitely my trigger image. My abstract sense manifests into nature’s own life: sea, forest, sand, earth, wind and all the basic elements.

Blake Youngman’s surrealistic take on figuration is also layered with symbolism, as he believes that this generation is becoming further detached from reality. In his artistic process, he most often employs acrylics, oils, and pastels on canvas or paper.
