Happy Easter from everyone at South Normanton Pre-School

April is a really busy month! Now spring is finally here the children have been learning about the changing of the seasons and the new growth this season brings. We are discovering how the plants and flowers are coming to life, bringing beautiful colours with them, exploring new life in animals as the lambs appear in the fields and the animals come out from hibernation. We have even watched our own caterpillars grow from tiny caterpillars to big fat caterpillars, building their cocoons and then emerging as beautiful butterflies that we have released into our world.

We are welcoming a new cohort of children into preschool this term. For the first time in two years we are able to reintroduce our home visits so before our children start, staff will visit the children in their homes and have the opportunity to meet their families and get to know them. April is exciting for our children who will be starting school in September as they will be getting notification of which school they will attend. We have strong partnerships with the local schools, and we will be meeting with the schools to plan transitions so that the children have the best possible start to their school life. We are now planning for September and allocating places to children on our waiting list, so if you have a child between the age of 2 and 3 years and would like them to join our pre-school in September please contact us. Our waiting list is open to all children from birth upwards and parents are welcome to come and visit our wonderful learning environment.
