Have you ever thought about joining a successful local swimming club, with history of beginning the journeys of 2 Team GB Olympians? Well, if you have, joining RASCALS could be for you and you could be the next Olympic star!

We take swimmers from all ages, starting out in our thriving Learn to Swim section, which takes beginners all the way up to stage 7 of the Swim England national plan, before transitioning to competitive squads through stages 8-10.

County Championships Report

Over the final 2 weekends in February our main competitive squads have been competing at the Arc in Matlock for the Derbyshire ASA County Championships, one of the highest level competitions that our swimmers will compete in. We had 44 swimmers qualify, competing in 275 swims across a full Olympic type schedule of events and each and every single one of them did themselves and the club proud! Of those 275 swims, 106 equated in a final appearance and 143 ended up with a top 6 finish - over 50% of the swims entered, which is an amazing success rate for a small town club! In addition the club had a total of 72 top 3 finishes, achieved by 19 different swimmers. The coaching team were absolutely delighted with the performances of each and every one of the swimmers after they’ve all worked so hard in training. The attention of the senior swimmers now turns to qualifying for the Regional Championships in late spring, whilst our younger members take part in the Junior League for the first time since 2019, due to cancellations because of Covid. And we are sure more brilliant performances will follow!
