ArtOrg believes that the natural candidate for this expansion is the NAG. However, in light of the sheer amount of work involved, the specialized expertise that is needed, and the sentiment which exists in the community, a separate group may be better able to realize this opportunity.

Art Facilities ArtOrg has named its gallery the “Moving Walls” gallery, because the space is configurable by placing the walls just where we need them. Our inventory of seven-foot-high moving walls include four ninefoot, one six-foot and one three-foot walls. These walls give us nearly 60 lineal feet of configurable wall space, plus another 60 feet around the outside of the space. Both incandescent and halogen track lighting are used to provide a nice atmosphere and good art lighting. Several shows have included well over 50 original works each. Big shows such as Mary Grandpre “An Artistic Vision” and John Berkey “Observed” have provided ArtOrg with the ability to delight both young and old. Locals artists such as Nick Sinclair, Dee Teller, and Rick Swearer have proven very popular, and still other shows of work produced in ArtOrg studios such as “The First Edition” have been great ways to showcase ArtOrg activities.

Art Facilities ArtOrg; mission is clearly defined to provide studios for artists. We call this our “equipment-intensive studio” strategy.

FUTURE STUDIOS

The decision to open more Equipment-intensive-studios will be based on: ¤

number of artists it would help

¤

the resulting classes for the public

¤

the niche it fills: is the facility available elsewhere?

¤

we consider it positive if the proposed studio would complement Carleton and St. Olaf’s offerings i.e. glass blowing

Participan los siguientes artistas: Claudia “Billy” Baca, Kendall Bohn, Paloma Barhaugh-Bordas, Anselmo Cornejo, Betto Limón, Gustavo Lira, Steven “Nuno” Nuñez, María Cristina OʼBrien, Douglas Padilla, Juan José Palacios, Cristina María Pérez, Richard Swearer, and Xavier Tavera.
