The University of Illinois at UrbanaChampaign was among the first institutions in the United States to offer an academic program in landscape architecture, with a degree program in place by 1907. Today, the Department of Landscape Architecture sponsors leading, accredited undergraduate and graduate level programs, as well as one of the only landscape architecture PhD programs in the nation.

While the pool is near the entrance, it is a little bit inconvenient for those who live inside deeply. And it is also a little bit far away from the town hall and administrative building.
LANDSCAPE CURRICULUM The Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA) degree requires a minimum of 124 hours. The minor in Landscape Studies requires a minimum of 17 credit hours.

Students must also complete a minimum of 12 hours of Professional Supporting Electives in Communications, History, Technique, and Environment. LICENSURE To achieve licensure, landscape architects must first complete a four-year professional degree program, which is accredited by the Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board. Graduates typically then complete two years of practice under a licensed landscape architect before sitting for the Landscape Architecture Review Examination. INTERNATIONAL IMMERSION NATIONAL TAIWAN UNIVERSITY EXCHANGE Through this study abroad experience, students learn a great deal about how landscapes impact human health and well-being. Students also get to experience the thriving city of Taipei, outstanding food, and a culture that welcomes and prizes students. UNIVERSITY OF SHEFFIELD EXCHANGE Adjacent to Peak District National Park, Sheffield is in a large city surrounded by hillsides and a junction of five rivers with the most number of trees per person in all of Europe. Education for Sustainable Development is embedded into curriculum as part of a campus sustainability strategy. Students study at The University of Sheffield, one of the top ranked schools for landscape architecture in the United Kingdom, during either the fall or spring semester of their junior year. SWEDISH UNIVERSITY EXCHANGE IN UPPSALA One-hour outside of Stockholm, SLU is an agricultural university with a landscape architecture department. SLU offers courses in vegetation design, digital landscape analysis, urban agriculture, conservation, nature based interventions and more. The university aims to develop humankind’s understanding and sustainable use of biological natural resources and is a great opportunity for Landscape Architecture students to experience for a semester abroad.

Chase spent a semester abroad on scholarship at the top ranked school for landscape in the United Kingdom. While there, he took courses in urban planning with an emphasis on GIS mapping, and plant design with an emphasis on the London 2012 Olympic Park master plan.

FAA SUMMER INTENSIVE At this one-week, project based program for high school students you will become part of a creative community. Through FAA Summer Intensive you can choose the Environmental Arts Track option which is combination of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Sustainable Design, and Urban Planning. The FAA Summer Intensive provides a perfect platform for high school students who want to get a taste of life as a college student and learn about careers in the arts.

Discover FAA High School Talent Competition: High school students compete for scholarships to FAA Summer Intensive or scholarships to attend the University of Illinois. Competition Outline: If you could design your own play space, what would it look like? A hand drawing, computergenerated artwork, or a collage of inspirational imagery will all be accepted. Items to consider in your design: • Design must have green space appropriate for its location. • Design must have a water feature (can be seasonal). • Design should encourage play by a variety of age groups.
