This season, I invite you to expand your philanthropic pursuits and align with the undeniable power of the arts.
Arts Commons fosters a place where passion and giving meet. Each year, we welcome over 600,000 visitors and plays host to over 1,800 performances and events, including live theatre, concerts, dance productions, speaking engagements, public forums, art exhibits, and so much more. Located in the heart of Calgary’s Cultural District in the downtown core, Arts Commons plays a critical role by providing support and services to more than 315 organizations annually, including the work of our resident companies: Alberta Theatre Projects, Arts Commons Presents, Calgary International Children’s Festival, Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, Downstage, One Yellow Rabbit, and Theatre Calgary, as they create, perform, and present a wide range of award-winning and highly acclaimed performances each season.

Your membership in either membership program makes it possible for Arts Commons to have a bigger impact in our community. For instance, one of our new initiatives, the Hub for Inspired Learning, launched during the 2015-16 Season. This innovative curriculum-based program moves the traditional classroom into Arts Commons for an entire week of hands-on, experiential learning. The program deepens student learning and plays a significant role in helping to foster attitudes and understandings of cultural awareness, while encouraging inquiry, problem solving, and critical thinking. Along with the inspiring musicians that we present through our BD&P World Music, PCL Blues, and TD Jazz series, Arts Commons Presents also brings stories from around the globe to Calgary through the distinguished speaker series, National Geographic Live. By joining either Founders Circle or Explorers Circle, you create the opportunity for Arts Commons to share these experiences with an ever-growing community of citizens and visitors, as well as support the ongoing development of these remarkable artists and explorers.

Arts Commons wishes to express its sincere appreciation to the following corporations, resident companies and partners that have offered inspiration, encouragement and most notably support of Founders Circle and Explorers Circle:
This power takes your breath away when a musician hits that perfect note, an actor’s magnetic performance speaks directly to you, or a globe-trotting photographer shares a story that is almost too astounding to believe. This power inspires, challenges, transforms, and entertains us all. These moments can inspire a child to dream about exploring the depths of the ocean, motivate an armchair traveler to finally book that trip, or embrace a newcomer to our city as they attend their very first performance by a world-renowned artist. These are experiences worth sharing, and have a far-reaching impact in our community.
