ABOUT ARTS HOUSE LIMITED Arts House Limited (AHL) is a not-for-profit organisation committed to enriching lives through the arts. AHL is the cultural place manager of Singapore’s Civic District. It manages two key national monuments - The Arts House, a multidisciplinary arts centre with a focus on literary programming, and the Victoria Theatre & Victoria Concert Hall, a heritage building that is home to the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. It also runs performing arts space Drama Centre as well as three creative enclaves for artists, arts groups and creative businesses - the Goodman Arts Centre, Aliwal Arts Centre, and Stamford Arts Centre. AHL organises the Singapore International Festival of Arts - an annual pinnacle performing arts festival; as well as the Singapore Writers Festival - a multi-lingual festival presenting the world’s leading literary talents. In addition, AHL manages Our Cultural Medallion Story – the showcase on Singapore’s Cultural Medallion recipients at The Arts House. ABOUT THE ENTITY The Entity is a brand new arts producing company that focuses on creating unique, compelling and impactful experiences with strong storytelling; creating works that are responsive to the times; and supporting independent artists in the creation of new work and exploratory forms. We are a team of highly experienced theatre makers who have worked extensively on small to large-scale productions and live events in Singapore and internationally. We seek to explore new and innovative ways of making work.

BIOGRAPHIES ERWIN SHAH ISMAIL • Lead Artist, Playwright, Performer Erwin graduated with a BA(Hons) in Acting at LASALLE College of the Arts in 2011. Today, he is a stage and screen actor, singer, voice artist as well as stuntman with Action Horizons Stunts. Erwin has spent the last 11 years doing an array of work; performed in more than 50 professional stage productions including musicals in English, Malay and Mandarin. He has also appeared in over 20 different television series for local and international networks including AXN and HBO Asia, and voiced a few local cartoons as well as commercials. When not performing, he is a part-time lecturer at his alma mater under the BA(Hons) Musical Theatre programme. ‘Order on the Go’ marks Erwin’s second go at writing after his last touring one-man show, ‘Kulit on the Go’. CHERILYN WOO • Director Cherilyn is a freelance Theatre Director and Writer who has worked for various professional companies like Nine Years Theatre, Singapore Repertory Theatre, Singapore Symphony Orchestra and The Arts House. She was also guest artist at LASALLE College of the Arts and Yong Siew Toh Conservatory. Under the collaborative duo Issy x Cher, she co-created an interactive immersive experience using Telegram called A Collection of Things, which was a National Arts Council (NAC) commission. She was also in the NAC’s Arts x Tech Lab under Architects of Realities that explores intersections between theatre and technology. Under Wacky Robotics, she is part of National Gallery’s Ylab Foundry and is exploring experiential tours with robotics. Occasionally, she raps. cherilynwoo.com or @cherilynwoo


THE ENTITY (WOO HSIA LING) • Producer Ling co-founded The Entity and is a Producer with twenty years of stage and production management experience. While extending her horizons in producing for the past eight years, she was selected to participate in the inaugural Singapore Producers Platform, a professional development and exchange program by the National Arts Council, delivered by Performing Lines (Australia) in 2018-2019. She has produced Artist’s Block, an audio-guided trail at the Stamford Arts Centre (commissioned by the Arts House Limited); participatory performances such as The Little Old Cooking Club That Could (SCENES 2020); A Tiny Country (M1 Singapore Fringe Festival 2020); and Saltwater (Theatre Works, Melbourne 2015; Brisbane Festival 2015; Bleach* Festival 2016). Ling was also the Managing Producer for Chinatown Crossings, a roving site-specific performance by Drama Box (2018-2019). PETRINA DAWN TAN • Spatial, Props & Lighting Designer Petrina Dawn Tan holds a Master of Art in Collaborative Theatre Production and Design from Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. She practices Scenography and has won Best Set for The Truth (Singapore Repertory Theatre) at the 2020 Straits Times Life! Theatre Awards and was nominated in 2017 for Best Lighting for Manifesto (The Necessary Stage & Drama Box). Her work for Recalling Mother (Checkpoint Theatre) has toured to Brisbane and Adelaide. Designs for theatre performances: Electrify My World (Nine Years Theatre), A Dream Under the Southern Bough: Existence (Toy Factory Productions) and The Son (Pangdemonium!). CTRL FRE@K • Sound Design Ctrl Fre@k (Control Freak) is a show design company and the brainchild of like-minded individuals who, based on their extensive involvement with control systems in key areas of sound, light and video programming, feel the respective industries can go a step further in achieving complete integration for control systems within productions. Control and synchronization is the key in producing high quality shows with the ‘awe’ factor. Ctrl Fre@k seeks to provide well-researched design solutions that enhance performance of system designs, provide reliable technical support that safeguard interest and integrity of the production, as well as to offer creative show design services. Our expertise in both hardware and software based show control equipment will help us tailor-make solutions to your requirements. JEAN TAY • Script Consultant Jean Tay graduated in 1997 with a double-degree in creative writing and economics from Brown University, USA. For her fiction, she has won the Weston Prize for Fiction from Brown, as well as NAC’s Golden Point Short Story competition. Plays produced include “Water from the Well”, “The Knot” , “Plunge” , “Everything but the Brain”, “Boom”, “Sisters”, “Senang” and “The Shape of a Bird”. Her plays have been performed in Singapore, US, UK, and Italy. She was nominated four times for Best Original Script for the Life! Theatre Awards, and won for “Everything But the Brain”. Her plays “Everything but the Brain” and “Boom” are published by Epigram Books, and have both been used as ‘O’ and ‘N’ Level literature texts for secondary school students. Jean is the founding Artistic Director of Saga Seed Theatre, set up in 2015 to bring Singaporean stories to the stage, and provide a platform to showcase and nurture local talent.


AL-MATIN YATIM • Performer Understudy A graduate from Intercultural Theatre Institute (ITI) with a Professional Diploma in Intercultural Theatre (Acting), class of 2015. He has been working professionally in the theatre and television since 2010, but mainly as stage actor. He has worked with many notable local companies like The Necessary Stage, Cake Theatrical Productions, The Theatre Practice, Drama Box, TheatreWorks and many more. He has also performed internationally in cities like Brisbane, Braunschweigh and Edinburgh. His background in Dikir Barat in his early days and ITI has enabled him to interweave his craft across multi-dimensional performance, from traditional to contemporary, physical and animation/digital. His recent television works includes ‘Dualiti’ and ‘Sempurna’ aired on Mediacorp Suria and meWATCH online. JURAIDAH BTE RAHMAN • Production & Stage Manager Juraidah Bte Rahman is a theatre enthusiast who has experience in wardrobe, production and stage management. In the past eighteen years, she has managed the stage for a variety of shows, such as Momotaro & The Magnificient Peach, Lost Cinema 20/20, Hotel, Manon Lescaut and The Nutcracker. Juraidah was the show-caller for the Southeast Asian Games (2015) Opening and Closing Ceremonies, as well as the National Day Parade (2016). MARILYN ANG • Assistant Stage Manager Marilyn began her work in theatre in 2014 and has since worked under many roles such as stage management, prop and puppet making, and more recently, in the technical aspects of theatre. Some companies she has worked with include The Finger Players, Drama Box, The Theatre Practice, and the Singapore Repertory Theatre.
