Arts Quincy partnered with Americans for the Arts to administer the Arts and Economic Prosperity IV study locally. The most comprehensive study of its kind, it inventories local cultural organizations and analyzes the direct impact of activities and audiences. The results indicate that the arts sector across Adams County was a major economic driver.

The arts: • Create $15.6 million in local economic activity • Generate $1.18 million local and state tax revenue • Support 625 and growing full-time equivalent jobs • Provide $9,886,000 local household income

Arts Quincy Bringing Arts to Local Schools The arts are essential to education. Research has shown impressive benefits of arts education on an entire school’s culture, especially in student motivation, attitudes and attendance. These programs are also shown to have positive effects on test scores in math, science and reading. Increasing access and participation in arts education improves graduation rates and encourages students to succeed in school, work and life. Arts Quincy is committed to making the arts available to every student through Instant Arts Classroom Funds. These funds are granted to teachers to fund arts projects throughout the school year. This programming has nearly tripled in size since 2015 and allowed over 7,500 students to take part in a hands-on art experience this school year.

It’s Arts Quincy’s goal to make sure every student in the county has access to art, music, theater, and the humanities throughout their educations, and we’ll continue to work toward this goal for the long term.

“Without funding, we would never have been able to treat nearly 300 students to such a delightful performance by a live storyteller” Linda Dawson, St. Francis Solanus

“Thanks so much, this is one of our best highlights of the year. Thanks for encouraging arts in our schools!” Kevin Genenbacher, Madison School

“The kids learned so much and really enjoyed the activity. Your support makes an important difference and is deeply appreciated!” Heather Eston, Chaddock

Art Dollars Increases Access to Public Art, Culture & Entertainment Arts access is essential to the community. This fiscal year, Arts Dollars has provided matching funds and marketing support to 22 arts and cultural projects. Many of these events use Arts Quincy’s support to provide free or low-cost admission, which increases arts access throughout the region, particularly to underserved members of our community. These arts projects include festivals, concerts, performing arts, literacy programs and more. Events like these are vital to the continued growth and advancement of the fine arts and culture throughout Adams County.

“This grant allowed us to succeed by involving approximately 10 artists in our program and allowing us to serve 400 guests at our productions. This event is vital to the elderly community who cannot travel long distances for performances. ” Sue Hester, Golden Windmill Follies, Golden Historical Society

“Summer concerts served 4000+ audience members and contribute to the cultural, economic and artistic development of the community.” Bruce Guthrie, Blues in the District

“Experiences like Q-Fest are made possible by grants like this. We served 6000+ patrons, 46 individual artists and 300 students during the two-day event.” Bridget Quinlivan, Q-Fest
