Green thoughts in a Grey World.
I’m bringing something that lacks in this world, full of concrete jungles, and that is , GREEN THINKING. People nowadays live a stressfull life with little or no time to really cheerish the enviroment around them. That’s not the life we were suposed to live. I’m from Portugal, from a small city. Nothing compared to London. But even in a small city like mine, that feeling, “the concrete poison” is noticeable, and that´s where I want to a make difference. I want people actually feel the world around them.

The Project aims to make the area of intervention visually Attractive providing both to those who enter or who leave the city of Vila Real by Industrial Zone, a good visual impression to frame the area of public space . The proposal also included a detailed plan of maintenance involved in the area. After a study of the location in question , we analyzed the currentlocal situation, in which we will focus our activity in order to detail schedule maintenance/ intervention . It will particularize thus the means necessary to provide the service, both material and human, setting besides tables of frequencies which point, in brief, the schedule of work to be performed in the maintenance of these green areas covered

Claiming to contemplate the changes at the level of proposed / existing vegetation, materializing the concept clearing, edge and forest. I propose a framework for vegetation space. So, an alignment of deciduous trees/ shrub layer is proposed, in order to decrease the difference in scale between cars/people using the space, and contribute as a visual barrier to the fore in thier main road. At the roundabout and triangles, is proposing a ground cover in pine bark and planted a sub -shrub massive Juniperus horizontalis . At the roundabout is also proposed 3 Betula celtiberica. Along the protective rails , we have a sub -shrub layer, given that its growth does not influence the road security. The main road doesnt suffer structural changes are only paints the back road markings. Country Road has undergone a number of changes being proposed a new deck and water drainage ditches.

Given that when designing a space, we design it for people , the proposal is based on the perspective of improving the space landscaped , as the site of intervention is one of the input nodes to the city , causing the users / visitors a good impression , and environmental, proposing interesting and native species but low maintenance requirements .Therefore , the project is based on a significant increase in tree and shrub species and improving the pedestrian and automobile routes. The level of trees used , is mostly deciduous to present a more interesting seasonal dynamics and the existing vegetation be in large quantities, evergreen . The evergreen shrub is all , in order to always give a green environment for space while covering the ground , contrasting with the tree vegetation . Thus, with a seasonal dynamics quite varied , are provided various tables of the site , with the monotony of small vegetation. Illustrative images

Although the square has a large turnout , contains some conceptual errors That mislead users to don’t make the maximum utilization of space which the main elements are the lake and the church . The Space can be accessed by two car pathways that surround the square.
Scrub Lawn
The project area is located in the Nossa Senhora da Conceição, Vila Real. The surrounding next is essentially Housing, trade, services and the church . The project focuses mainly on the redevelopment of the square, improving all the negatives . One of the main objectives in question was to keep the space with its original function that is square, improving the space aesthetically and the level of functionality. The space is designed so that shadows are created but never give the feeling to the enclosed space of the user, the environment of the church was elevated in order to create a subtle division, religious and leisure space while providing the assurance all outdoor religious activities are carried out.
|Master Plan|
6 From a formal point of view, intended to be a rational space, well connected with the environment , and that meets the expectations of users, contributing to a better quality of space , always applying the knowledge of the various units of the course, contributing to better design of the project and the application of good practice of landscape architecture. The square Have two main elements , which are the lake and the church there was the need to create a discrete lye between them , for this to happen the surrounding area of the church was raised about 45cm , where is guaranteed access to all people.
The design of the space was made to think that the square doesn’t stop Being a square, but which become more striking and pleasant . The main idea of the proposal are the insurrectionists sites that are just the limits of it, thus creating more space for planting vegetation and making the route both internal and external of the square much more enjoyable. With this idea we were able to still create a sublime division between the two most frequented points of the square (the church and the lake), and playing with the heights and lengths created a route that takes users to have a more enjoyable experience . In some sites are built wooden benches for users to rest and enjoy the scenery. This is dispersed in order to highlight certain details of the square.

Two different paviments are used, with adapted performances to the required functions. The use of granite blocks makes the space modern creating a contrast with the vegetation . The choice of granite cube to the road was designed to create on drivers an unconscious sense of need to lower speed and also make an interesting contrast with the other floors

The arboreous vegetation of the extremetys are disposed in a straight way creating an alignment that provides shadow both people and parked cars. The organization of the trees in the central square is thought so that the views of the rest of the square and the Church aren’t hidden, making an allocation almost imperceptible Of space. The various forms of planting trees make the square More dynamic, since the plantation of gantrys in the ground in raised beds with built-in benches or even coming out of the middle of the floor. The trees was thought to create shadow but also a set of heights and shapes, so that the landscape is not boring .

|Proximity Garden “Moving Garden|Aurocaria |Vila Real|
The presented project aims to renovate / structuring a proximity Garden located in Araucaria Neighborhood . This is reflected in the design of green spaces with framing character, pleasure, intimacy and circulation spaces . The garden can be divided into three key areas. The playground area with climbing equipment, wherever adults or children can have fun; The pedestrian walk, integrating the key element of garden, the old rail line whecre users can follow it where they found along the same has the key elements of the garden, which are the banks going through some train line parts, this element of the name to the garden; The last area is multifunctional, integrating green space as the grassy clearings ( with fitness or to recreational asset / liability as more intimate areas ) , or garden areas (contributing to several factors such as alienation of the people who are in space in relationship to the surrounding area of the garden , for a man -nature relationship closer and provide a better bioclimatic comfort ).
