TOK&STOK FURNITURE
DESIGN COMPETITION
Two cubes made of different materials intersect each other, in order to create the shape of the design. The result is a simple, modular, functional, elegant and contemporary form.
The flexibility of the furniture is evident trough the different uses it has. Individually, besides being a seating element, it can be also used as a small table. Together, the possibilities of fitting with other modules can result in a small shelf, a center table or a bigger bench. All this compositions are not permanent, and can be changed according to the user's needs.

Simplicity and modernity are reflected in the contrasting materials used in the proposal. Firstly, a folded steel sheet acts as the main element of the stool. Two boards of plywood complete the design, one supporting the metallic structure and the second serving as the seating area. Complex fixing systems are avoided by the use of glue in the surfaces where the steel and the wood connect.

DESMOB URBAN FURNITURE
DESIGN COMPETITION
The main goal of the design was to create urban furniture that is coherent with the local it is being inserted in, since it changes and shapes the space functionally and aesthetically. Besides that, it aims to support and give structure for di erent urban activities such as leisure, circulation, flow and contemplation.
010
The project is composed by five urban furniture elements: bench, bus stop, light post, waste bin and bike rack. The shape of each one was thought through concepts such as: modulation, cutting, folding, fitting and segmentation, reaching for flexibility and adaptability.
As for the materiality, steel, concrete and acrylic are used in the furniture. This way it was possible to create a design with resistance to weathering such as oods, which are common in the city. The shape of the proposals can also be adapted according to the topography, paving, vegetation and buildings on the site.

HONORABLE MENTION in “007 Parklet Na Vila Madalena ” Architectural Design Competition promoted by Portal Projetar.org TEAM Artur Pretto Junqueira, Henrique Luis Viecelin Caumo, Lucas Richardt Medeiros and Lucas Rogério Sulzbach DATE October, 2014. LOCATION São Paulo, Brazil.
PARKLET 007 URBAN FURNITURE
DESIGN COMPETITION
Started up in 1893, the Vila Madalena, neighbourhood of São Paulo (the seventh most populated city in the world), is known by its intelectual, gastronomic, bohemian and artistic core. It is the area chosen the design. The parklet replaces two parking lots, taking 22 square meters in an area that is active during the day and the night, due the presence of local art galleries, studios, bars, restaurants, parks, night clubs and art schools.
012
The parklet is structured of metallic profiles, covered by a modular deck made of wood and the connection with the sidewalk is made with steel plates. In the smaller borders of the design were located two flower pots and a trash can, that also protect the parklet users. In the opposite side of the sidewalk there is a physical barrier made of prefabricated wood boards and a big longitudinal bench. Finally, metallic benches are placed at right angles to the wooden elements. The materials used in the project highlight the local works of art, that can be fixed in the project, turning it into an open air gallery.

FAU’S ARCHIVE 010 ARCHITECTURAL
DESIGN COMPETITION
The School of Architecture and Urbanism (FAU), by Vilanova Artigas and Carlos Cascaldi, is an icon of the Brazilian architecture.
The archive proposed aims to be a solution for the constant growth of the documental collection in the Library of the existing structure. On its ground floor, the new building works as an open but covered space, creating spatial and visual continuity with its surroundings. The circulation axis is aligned with the main entrance of the FAU, which turns the archive into a space of transition for the access of the school. The roof slab

(composed by a grid of metallic beams enclosed by glass) is structured by eight cruciform columns that allow visual permeability from inside and outside the building.
Without any entrance doors, the ground floor can be seen as a space to circulate and to stay/ contemplate at the same time. The remaining program is divided into two underground levels. The first one is composed by two galleries (that can be seen from the ground floor) and support facilities. The second concentrate the archive and all the technical activities related to it.

DISTRITO EM CENA
020
The proposal of approximately 24 hectares is part of a bigger master plan developed for the area known as Baixo Quarto Distrito (Low Fourth District). The location is considered a decadent part of the city and has many industrial characteristics due to its economic past. In the master plan, a series of strategies and policies were created in order to guide the project. The main concept of the design is the expansion and continuity of the project named Distrito Criativo (Creative District) that aims to create economic, social and urban impact through the collaboration and integration of artists, entrepreneurs and the creative industries to the area. MAIN STRATEGIES Improve the access, circulation and transport in the urban grid. Connect facilities and attractions of the area, as well as its southern and northern limits. Create leading and structural axis of urban ow. Develop green streets that beneďŹ t pedestrians and alternative ways of transportation.

410 VERTICAL HOUSING
CONJUNTO RESIDENCIAL The architectural design site, with 690 square meters, is located in the city of Lajeado, Brazil. The proposal is a vertical housing building that serves the needs of a contemporary way of living, integrating sustainability and technology to its design. The volumetric and functional composition of the design is simple.
024
Two vertical blocks are displaced (in order to maximize the natural ventilation and lightning) and hold 20 apartment units. One of them has 4 floors, two floors shorter than the other, because of local height policies. A third volume serves as the vertical circulation and technical facilities of the building. Horizontal open hallways were created to connect the blocks.

DESDOBRAMENTO URBANO ACVATAVENUE STREET
REFURBISHMENT
The design is a proposal of refurbishment for the ACVAT Avenue, located in Lajeado, Brazil. Located in a central area of the city, the avenue faces flow, transportation and safety problems, lack of infrastructure and high levels of sound pollution. In total, the area studied has almost 10.000m².
With the concept of urban scape, the design aims for the requalification of the space through a series of strategies such as the development of new open spaces, the creation of local urban attractors (in currently vacant sites) with a variety of functions, the improvement of the existing infrastructure (reconfiguration of streets, relocation of facilities, renewal of buildings with local heritage and the design of appropriate urban furniture). With the pedestrian as priority, ideas of tra ic calming and accessibility were also considered.

COURSE Studio VIII. TOPIC Commercial tower. INSTITUTION Centro Universitário UNIVATES. INSTRUCTOR Hevelyn Hilda Baer Villar. DATE Spring, 2015.
CATALIS COMMERCIAL TOWER
The program of the design was developed by the analysis of local policies and legislation. As a result, the commercial building has 8 o ices, underground parking, restaurants, co-working space, art gallery and an open/green area. The project aims to create working spaces that serve the di erent areas of the creative industries (such as architecture, graphic design, communication, fashion design, photography, etc.).
030
Nevertheless it still follows the usual dimensions of local o ices, making it possible to be used by other kinds of companies.
Lately, corporations and institutions have been encouraging the collaborative work and this reflects directly in the creation of this space: the structural system of the building allows the interior to be designed freely and with flexibility. The
930 dimension of the rooms can change according to the needs and requirements of the user. One of main the qualities of the design is the open space in the ground level, particularly due the reduced dimensions of the site. It is conformed as a long linear strip with vegetation and seating spaces, leading the public to the access of the tower and the restaurants.

INCUBO CULTURAL
C E N T E R
The project began as an urban analysis focused on the southern part of The Bronx borough, in New York City. Strengths, opportunities, weakness, threats and possible intervention sites of the area were identified and studied in the research.
As a consequence of the analysis, the main goal of the architectural design is to act as a template of approach that improves the
034
continuity between the different spaces located in the site, by the design of punctual interventions with a variety of uses. This connection aims to improve the quality of life in the area, without the need of large projects, which tends to involve bigger spaces, investments and infrastructures. Incubo is a cultural, leisure and artistic center that connects two empty lots of The Bronx borough by a series of design strategies.
Small changes that improve everyday life for people. Its e ect on the surrounding area exceeds its diminutive dimensions.
