Every space is a seed, it has the potential of forest if you nurture it well ! This is what i believe in . The scope and viability of every space is very high . Its the architects us who DEFINE and RE-DEFINE the benchmark of it . Its not that something which happens randomly , every nook and corner should be done intentionally wherein it enhances and attributes to the character of the space holistically.

01. Site
02. The Court’s
A merely flat site, with minimal vegetation bounded by exist- The idea is to split the court into two wherein one facing the ing buildings on its adjacent sides. It is a 398 Sq.M/4290 Sq.ft road is much social and visible to street and other one is parcel of land with access from one side. more introverted restricting the scape’s only to the Users.

Outdoor Court View
Master Bedroom View Approach In the recent times the use of courtyards have being made questionable considering the safety aspects. “ No Courtyards “ and “Introverted” are the keywords that guide the design. An introverted house with no punctures in plan yet so open that each space connects to the exterior. The massing and the spatial planing is such that all public activities happens around the front-yard and the Quiet backyard hosts the peaceful activities of the home. The materials and the hues of the house is set to match the tropical tone of the pole. The ‘paradox’ of the design is being evident in the fact that a house with a closed plan has a open spaces within and that contemporary design and materials are used to capture the heritage essence of the place. A house has to reflect the people and the place to which it belongs and design which brings out this quality will aid in making the house a perfect home.

03 MUTABLE HOUSING Academic Project U.G Thesis Site Location Thirumangalam, Chennai, Tamilnadu. Note *Since this thesis consist of a large volume of work, only the Ideologies of the project are explained in this presentation.
MUTABLE HOUSING A HOUSING WHICH EVOLVES AS WE DO. A dwell which involves a constant evolution of spaces according to the user and his needs. The core function of a house is to provide shelter, but the needs of every user changes based on their age, user group, economic stability, occupation, personal interests, culture, tradition, religion, and their geography. Mutation is not only about the change in morphological character, but also the change of its Functional settings. An analogy comparing each dwell to a single celled micro organisms like Amoeba
EACH DWELL MUTATES IN A WAY WHICH IS FLEXIBLE TO THE USER AND THE WHOLE BUILDING EVOLVES IN A HOLISTIC MANNER UNITED BY FUNCTION, DIVERSIFIED BY ITS NEEDS
Mutation depends upon : AGE GROUP
ACTIVITIES
ECONOMIC STABILITY
Age of the User group and the associated requirements
Every activity requires a space to perform and engage
Both growth or decline of a family’s economy directly reflects over their lifestyle
PERSONAL SPHERES
SIZE
NEEDS
Users expression, lifestyle demands and their associated activities
Increase or decrease of family members.
Needs of the individual based on their scenario, aspirations, and perspectives.
Mutation happens when it exceeds the Threshold. [NEEDS] THRESHOLD STATE
TRANSFORMATION [OPPORTUNITY]
The idea is to create a sustainable vertical community which is socially sensible and also solve the programmatic constrains of the existing vertical housing modules

Opportunities for informal Interaction in Low rise communities
The main feature observed in the current housing board modules is shared spaces. Even though those places are not designed intentionally they serve a major role for making the community alive. A common need performed in a common space collectively. On the other hand shared spaces acts as a vibrant communal spot & helps to engage a diversified mix of people
ZONING & PLANING GUIDELINES FOR VERTICAL COMMUNITY: PARALLEL STREET :
Terrace as Dead End
Potential
Parallel Street
Biased Proximity
Pushing Upward
Center of Mass
Usually in every Multi-Storeyed apartments all the amenities are zoned in the ground floor, this creates harder accessibility for people who reside on the upper part
Pushing it upward in the median line will create an ease of accessibility to the entire structure .
Psychologically this zoning it to the center creates an nearness in the user’s mentality which would solve the problems discussed in the analysis
CENTER OF MASS :
BASIC PROBLEM OF CURRENT HOUSING MODEL : The main underlying problem in the current vertical housing communities is, there is a very less opportunity for both horizontal and vertical social interaction as a result no community is formed. Ar. Grace Kim, USA Loneliness is a function of how socially connected we feel to the people around us and it’s often the result of the homes we live in.
Isolation
Very less opportunity for interaction
In 2015, Brigham Young University completed a study that showed a significant increase risk of premature death in those who were living in isolation.
Commercial Communal Spot
Must be zoned once in every Three Floors
Must be zoned every Alternative Floors
Leisure Must be zoned once in every Four Floors
Co-Working Study Area Must be zoned once in every Three Floors
VERTICAL STREET ZONING
HOUSING MODULE M, L - UNITS DESIGNING BASED ON ACTIVITY :
CONSTANT
Constants are the permanent activities which exists forever like Sleeping, Cooking.
VARIANT
Variants are the personalized activities based on the interest and current needs
IDEOLOGY : The idea is to create a grid which acts as a, part to whole and whole to part. So the square must be ergonomically good enough to self sustain. So by calculating the working circle and the anthropometry the grid size is arrived to 1.5 m x 1.5m
The inside is defined by a regular grid of 1.5m, whose intermediate lines leave gaps for internal walls to be added when needed. The basic unit can also be extended or shortened in increments of 1.5 meter.
The finished panels are available in a variety of colors or wood veneer. They can have different colors on either side, so the decor of the house can be changed just by flipping the panels over. Scenario’s These are illustrations depicting how the shell dwell changes along the user’s needs. At different instances, it can shift its program and the function so as the dwell exceeds the threshold it mutates and evolves along the user.
