Entrepreneurial Development Park

Creating a designated area for MSMEs to develope through holistic environment for growth, development & self- sustainance

OVERVIEW

The project proposes a new typology – a development center for entrepreneurs. A place where seeking entrepreneurs can develop their ideas and start their dream project or business. In doing so, it reimagines the ordinary factory buildings and office buildings as an ‘integrated business hub’ anchored with ‘learning’ and ‘incubation’. Thus, borrowing the concept of ‘Learn and Work’.

PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION

Recognizing the poor conditions of infrastructure and services required for the enterprises, it suggest a contemporary proposal of ‘workplaces’. While planning strictly requires to be functional depending on the individual requirement of the agenices, architecture plays a major role in escalating the efficiency of the users and maintaining the psychological well-being and aim to develop the working environment.

COMPONENTS OF THE PROJECT Industrial

Institutional

• Workspace • Administration • Incubation

• Training Centre • Knowledge • Workshop

Commercial • Market place • Exhibition • Bussiness

These components function as individual agencies and are dependent upon each other. The intention of the project is to bring these components into a micro environment so that it can perform as a single unit developing a symbiotic relation. The state of Assam being one of the most potential state still lacks in use of modern technologies, low resource to production ratio, high migration to other places due to improper infrustructure & oppurtionities. Addressing these problems, the site will selected in Assam.

RESEARCH COMPONENT

Escalting the psycological well-being of the primary users.

GLOBAL COMPETITION

AIM

INFRUSTRUCTURE

UNEMPLOYMENT

To design an Entrepreneurial Development Park for the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through a holistic environment for growth, development and self-sustenance.

Evolutionary Psychology: Human brains have evolve throughout the time to survive in natural, harsh conditions. Humans started working in modern offices from a 100 years or so. That is why, the brain is therefore lagging & our deep innate prefers environments more connected to nature. Yerkes-Dodsan Law: The law dictates that performance of a human increases with physiological or mental arousal, but only up to a point. When levels of arousal become too high, performance decreases. Workplace Design Hierrarchy: This is a workplace design hierrarchy table, based on the Maslow’s Hierrarchy of Human Needs. The bottom three tabs represents the primary needs, and the above three tabs represents the secondary needs of an user.

STRATEGIC LOCATION LOCATION: Changsari SITE AREA: 82,540 m2 (22.3 acres) CLOSEST CITY: Guwahati (15km) ALTITUDE: 46 m STATE: Assam COUNTRY: India ABUTTING ROAD: NH 31 (East West Corridor) ALLOWABLE STATUTORY STIPULATIONS: F.A.R: 1.0 (INSTITUTE & INDUSTRIAL) 1.5 (COMMERCIAL) SETBACKS: 9M (FRONT) 6M (SIDE) PARKING: 30% B/U

The site falls in a location which will strategically benefit the project. Changsari is a satelite town of Guwahati, and also the industrial area of the city. Industries in the region are dependent on the nearby areas shown in the map for raw materials and wokforce. Enterprises will get availability of raw materials and workforce in low rates. Students from the nearby areas can come for training & workshops. This will create a symbiotic relation between the places.

OVERVIEW This project consisted of designing a residence for a businessman in Sivsagar, Assam. The site lies beside the National Highway 37 in a semi-developed urban area.

OBJECTIVE The basic theme of the project is to understand the different types of spaces in a residence and their connectivity. Innovative design elements may be used according to the geography and topography of the site.

CONCEPT The design features a simple, minimalistic, elegant yet functional approach with use of locally available sustainable materials. The concept of the design is to arrange the spaces according to their function and hierarchy.

DESIGN The house is mostly influence in the traditional style of the geographical area known as the ‘Assam Type Houses’ with a modern touch. The façade of the house is of half plastered and half exposed brickwork walls in a balanced ratio. The planning is based on the Vastu Vidya.

Studio Project | 6th semister

OVERVIEW In today’s world, where a person hardly get times to spend time with the family, social communication is very less or negligible. The idea of the project is to minimize the gap and maximize the socialness. The project consisted of designing a mix housing Gated Community where users of each economic group will stay together in a mixed environment and community. The site lies in CDA, Cuttack, in the banks of Mahanadi River, along the Ring Road. The site is preferably into dense residential settlements in form of colonies.

OBJECTIVE Its main objective was to accommodate as many flats as possible by maintaining all the criteria of the Municipal Authority. The approach of the project is to maximize the social cohesion of all the user groups without compromising their privacy, affordability and living standards.

CONCEPT The design features a contemporary and functional approach. The concept of the design is to divide the community spaces in two tiers. The site is divided into zones for each type of economic groups. The first tier spaces are designed for social gatherings among one type of user group. These spaces are placed in their respective zones. The second tier space is placed in the central zone of the site, along with a club house housing a library.

DESIGN The flats are designed to be spacious, luxurious, with natural illumination and ventilation. The apartments are designed with maximum influence of the surroundings. Most of the HIG flats are facing the river, or getting a view of the river. The main community space is placed in the center of the site. A departmental store and a clinic is added to the site for the need of the people.

Vaishnavite Temple Design (Naamghar) AD PUBLIC RO

Naamghar are places for congregational worship associated with the entire Assamese community and the Ekasarana sect of Hinduism, in particular, that is native to Assam. Besides forming the primary structure used for worship, they also function as meeting houses for congregations, as well as theaters for dramatic performances (bhaona). The Namghar, also called the kirtanghar, is also the central structure in the Sattras (monasteries of the Ekasarana dharma) where the other buildings are positioned around it. Namghars are widespread in Assam, and very often more than one namghar exists in a single village, signifying many congregational communities.
