BED ROOM 6
Isle Of Man LOCATION : Chennai, ECR
GARAGE
The concept behind this residential design emerges from the annual event Toursit Trophy in the island, i Isle of Man.
STUDY
The client being a motorcycle enthusiast and his wife being a photographer, the design called for the need to accomodate various needs without compromising either one’s passion, comfort or professional life. The entire residence is integrated within, creating a sense of flow between the spaces. Multiple level differences create a unique experience of separation in spaces, and are yet connected. The garage is integrated with the office, a mini bar and a secondary living room, with a view to the sea.

CENTRAL LIBRARY LOCATION : Tharangambadi.
Tharangambadi a village located on the eastern coast of Tamil Nadu, houses the Dutch settlements and thereby has a strong influence of Dutch architecture. Therefore, the design is an integration of Dutch and contemprory architecture. The buliding is designed in a climatically responsive manner keeping the running cost down. Also various techniques are use to bring natural light considering the neccessity for it. All these coordinally help to keep the running cost low as it is a public building. Owing to the tourism in Tranquebar, the library also accomodates a cafe and a gallery that houses artifacts along with books and guides for the tourists. SOUTH ELEVATION

THE ROBOTS ARE COMING !!! For your service. For your protection. And for your jobs.
Every job could be a casuality of the robot revolution, ripping the very fabric of the human society
BUT ARE WE PREPARED? 25
Renaissance was a time of rebirth of humanism and new discoveries in fine arts, music, literature, philosophy, science, architecture, religion and spirituality. We reflect onto the Renaissance times, where arts flourished and people were able to follow their passions and dreams.
THE PHILOSOPHY
In the coming era, where machines have taken over the jobs we know of, and left us unemployed yet reliant on them with unlimited leisure time, we find ourselves gravitating towards things that are irreplaceable by any other creature or machine. Things that have set us apart since our origins. We are moving towards an era of Arts and Sports. An era where every human being sets out to do the things that bring him happiness and joy.
"JOBS ARE WHAT PEOPLE DO TO LIVE ART IS WHAT PEOPLE LIVE TO DO " Creating art is how we express and identify who we are as human beings. The arts can be what you want them to be. Yes, a sculpture, a movie, a Broadway play, or a wall covered with graffiti, are all somebody's art. During the early days, arts were used for communication and it differentiated us from other species. With the establishment of societies, civilizations were formed, cities prospered, and technology advanced at a rapid rate. Humans were caught in the rat race. With the automation and AI freeing us,
WHAT WOULD WE DO?
THE IDEOLOGY
CITIZENS HAVE THEIR BASIC NEEDS COVERED, INCLUDING FOOD, SHELTER AND AMENITIES .
In our current economy, a variation of basic needs provision is already being tested, called the Universal Basic Income(UBI). A fixed amount of money is provided to citizens regardless of income or work status. Finland has begun testing this form ofeconomy on a limited number of people, providing them a monthly sum of 475 pounds for their use.The studies have shown that people continued to find work inspite of guaranteed income, and it even spurred them to work harder.
2 The greatest concern is laziness, drop in productivity levels, or a slight feeling of uselessness. But, Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs argues that once the basics needs and security are provided, and a sense of belonging is established; we are motivated to perform, compete and "be all you can be".

THE IDEOLOGY
CASE IN POINT
It makes us more goal oriented and equipped with a purpose. It is therefore, imperative that we introduce a competitive spirit through the architecture of the city.
THE STUDIO-STAGE CENTRIC DESIGN
Competition is what moves us forward. Fast paced development and evolution occurs only due to competition and the need to become better than others. Let us take the example of the Cold war. Space technology, the Internet, and GPS were invented only due to this competition between the two nations. We owe many of our advancements to competitions between people, companies and countries.
3
We believe, one's skills and accomplishments in different fields must be rewarded with better facilities, food, housing, and amenities. One's status and comfort should depend, not on how good, but how much better they are than others. The architecture should facilitate this skill based economy. In such a city, there are two important elements -the studio and the stage. The studio, where the students learn various skills of their chosen field; engage, help and inspire one other. The stage, the focal point of exhibition and performance of learnt skills for spectators, to engage and discuss.
PRELUDE TO DESIGN
Urban drifting or derive - introduced by Guy Debord is a technique of transient passage through varied ambiances. Sensorial trips where “anything and nothing might happen cut across the division of urban space into work, rest, and leisure zones. Every city has an unique and distinct aura which is best when experienced, and not read about . . .
The brief required one to re-think the conceppt of a city and push it to the mosst extravagantly exaggerated form it could take. we were required to first choose a city, choose a relavant context and use that to formulate an idealogical response to the context. we were expected to propose a collection of ideas of a city that is designed to reflect the ideology in working. most importantly, the design is to be polemical, i.e, polarize the audience, ignite a debate and start a conversation - pushing the urban experience into much more than a concrete jungle, but a wide tapestry of ideologies and philosophies. City chosen Context The future
