WHAT ADDEDVALUE CAN WE BRING TO YOUR PROJECT?
Nowadays, building envelopes constitute around 30 % of the building’s overall construction cost. The demand for high performance building facades is getting stronger by the day, and taking into consideration the complexity that entails the design of facades, it is always a wise idea to involve façade engineers and specialists at the conception stage of a building envelope design to bring considerable “Added-Value”.
IBECE‘s Professional Façade Design Team Shall: Achieve a Perfect Balance between Performance & Cost: IBECE’s quest to deeply understand the needs of the client at the very early stages of the façade conception will generate value-engineered façade designs that shall perform precisely as requested, and of course within the client’s budget. Eliminate the Most Common Problem of “Cost Increase / Overrun” at Both The “Tender and Construction Stages”: IBECE will ensure that there is no miss-alignment between the written performance specifications document, the design drawings and the related budgeting scheme of the building’s façade. Therefore minimizing the chances of having un-anticipated, and surely un-welcomed, cost increases during the future stages of tendering and façade construction.
IBECE PROFILE P. 8
Detect Design Problems and Actively Prevent On-Site Failures: Employing IBECE at the initial façade design stages is your best insurance to avoid costly future failures. IBECE’s team can easily allocate, and offer solutions, to existing design problems that could easily lead to failures in the expected function of a façade. Ensure Quality and “Value for Money” for Your Façade: Various difficulties emerge throughout the facade construction process, hence depriving it from its required performance, IBECE provides full support by inspecting the materials’ quality, and supervising all the processes
ran by the fabricator to deliver the flawless facade. We review, monitor, control and enhance the services provided by the façade contractor to ensure our clients the best “value for their money”. Resolve “Conflict of Interest During Design Development”: Façade contractors usually offer the design development of the conceptual façade design. However, there is a clear “conflict of interest” in such a scenario, namely because the “contractor” ends up in being the “designer” as well. In most cases, the designs generated by sub-contractor are highly influenced
by sales, stock availability…etc. IBECE, being a specialist facade consultant, can develop your design, “assume design liability” and provide you with an independent third-party judgment.

WHO WE ARE
IBECE PROFILE P. 10
IBECE is an independent engineering, design and consulting firm that specializes in “Facade Engineering”. We are a group of committed professionals who enjoy the outstanding art of architectural engineering in the broad and detail sense of the word, and we are very passionate when it comes to designing building envelopes.
Building facades are namely designed to offer great architecture and form a structurally-sound skin that is permeable to light and heat. They offer thermal and acoustic comfort, and create transparency connecting the interior of a building to its exterior environment. Facades allow occupants to develop a visual, and hence, psychological link with the outside world.
We at IBECE always strive to probe into the client’s design intent, and then create efficient-balanced designs, with great value aligned with planned budget, that challenges the traditional building envelope design boundaries.
