Live the beach

We believe the beach is a place for dreams. A place where you exercice, relax, mingle and play. A place that makes you happy. We created Praiaz so that you can fully embrace this lifestyle. On the beach and beyond.

PRAIAZ comes from the portuguese word “praias”, meaning“beaches”. They were created by two friends (French and Brazilian) who were frustrated that their shoes didn’t always allow them to take full advantage of the beach, or its unique lifestyle.

HOW IT ALL S TA R T E D

They dreamt of a shoe that would suit their active lives, whilst expressing a sense of style. A shoe that would allow them to run down to the beach in the morning, walk along the boardwalk, jump off the rocks, go for a swim, have a drink in a cool bar ... Without having to go home to get changed.

PRAIAZ ARE DESIGNED FOR FREEDOM. They are stylish, all-terrain beach shoes that never hold you back. Water-resistant (and made from the same material as the soles of running shoes), they are perfect for running, swimming and dancing, and will take you seamlessly from the beach to the bar, and everywhere in between…

We are starting out with our own unique shoes, but the PRAIAZ brand could very quickly expand into an apparel and accessory brand.

Extremely light and comfortable.

There are numerous openings holes and slits - in various positions on the shoe to allow and facilitate air flow.

The EVA material is antimicrobial, it is naturally odourresistant. Unlike canvas or leather shoes, odours cannot be absorbed into the material. They can be rinsed out in a few seconds and the pleasant beach fragrances helps mask unpleasant foot odours.

The EVA material is generally used Of course ! by the major sports equipment brands for the soles of their trainers. The material’s unrivalled shock absorbent qualities, makes it feel like you are walking on a cushion.

Yes, they have also been designed so that you can climb on the rocks around the beach (but not hardcore rock-climbing). Whether you are in the South of France in the Calanques of Cassis or the pebbles of Nice, or whether you are in Thailand walking through a tropical forest to reach an idyllic beach, they are perfectly suited to the task.

We are PARIOCAS* 1. (noun) a nickname given by ‘Cariocas’ (the native inhabit ants of Rio de Janeiro) to the stylish Parisians who move to Rio to take advantage of its amazing beach lifestyle.

Our motto is LIVE THE BEACH and we promote this lifestyle at all times. It is not the lifestyle of the tourist, but of those that actually live at the beach or in beach cities (Rio, Sydney, L.A, Miami, Capetown). It is a beach-chic attitude, a casual style and a love of the water that you adopt when you put on a pair of PRAIAZ.

We have chosen to communicate LIVE THE BEACH in an ‘editorial’ way through the publication of a webzine, as well as a real paper magazine. We pull our followers in with exciting content and images, rather than pushing marketing message at them.

Collaborations Despite the fact that we’re pushing a very affordable product, we need to maintain the edge.

For SS13 we partnered with Lapo Elkann (voted “most stylish man on the planet” by Vanity Fair and Vogue).

We want to be an trendy ‘accessible luxury’ rather than a mass market For SS14 we have some cool product. collaborations lined up with prestigious (but edgy) apparel brands and we plan to create jackets / board shorts / trousers to match our shoes & our colors.
